But they are not the only country in the world with their sights set on space exploration. Why are countries like India, China, Japan and Saudi Arabia trying to complete their own lunar landings? Katya Adler speaks with Kevin Fong and Jonathan Amos, the BBC’s science correspondent. To hear more episodes, search for The Global Story, wherever you get your BBC podcasts.

Any news about when new season will begin?
Team, I simply CANNOT express how I appreciate what the team has done to portray happenings of both the Moon Landing, as well as the shenanigans of Apollo 13. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou.... Love, love, love... I am aware of so much of the Gemini and Apollo missions in particular, and the era of "the right stuff", and it is always with pride that I know it was truly a global escapade, that even Australia had such a huge involvement with. Thankyou BBC World Service team... You utterly rock!! What next? Challenger? Columbia? The last flight of the Shuttle?.. Wishing the team the very best..... Catelyn.... ❤
You skipped any audio edit on this one - lips/tounge, inhaling noises, it's hard to listen to this :/ At least give them some water
the only thing I have to say is Im just sad to see the number of likes Its one of the best media out there, just love it Omg
If anybody wants to listen to big hacking stories go to Darknet Diaries. This episode from BBC might be nice but why it's delivered like SPAM? :/ Also these shows are overproduced :/
Nothing to do with space as far as I can tell - seems a bit keen to be suggesting this episode as part of the 13 minutes to the moon brand (which was excellent)
just great. bbc is killing it
this is a stunning podcast, and takes you on a epic and well told journey.
17:15 Goosebumps 🔥
Incredibile episode🤩🔥
Thanks for providing the insights. https://www.yourtexasbenefits.biz/
This podcast is fantastic! I'm listening again for the second time.
This podcast series has been fascinating. I've been binge listening, and love hearing about this great accomplishment from the people who lived it. Particularly liked the episode about the onboard computer design and build. Well done, and the music is great.
loving the show but every in every single episode youll be listening to a story and either it will skip ahead or go back and repeat what you've just heard. It's not my app as im watching the clock when this happens. its becoming very frustrating as this is not an isolated issue.
anyone else experiencing constant skipping around and cutting off parts of the cast? loving the show but it's becoming frustrating.
just finished the first season. it was a wonderful story, excellent journalism and presentation, I was just blown away. great job :)
