Gaby explores the world of fast fashion and greenwashing with Overdressed author and Remake and PayUp activist Elizabeth L. Cline. With all these celebrities shilling for Shein, Fashion Nova, and other fast fashion brands, these companies are gaining into the billions with terrible garment worker practices, huge environmental waste and by stealing designs from marginalized artists. (Okay, that last one is just Gaby's personal pet peeve.) Then, Gaby talks to actress Jasika Nicole (Fringe, The Good Doctor) who makes all her own clothing - yes, even her shoes and undergarments - about why she goes to these lengths, how you can sew your own clothing, and the pros and cons of thrifting.

incredible episode. thank you for this very eye opening education.
My daughter had a similar experience where her husband of 4 months was run over in a parking lot and she was called to the hospital. She didn't know anything about the finances or how to pay the bills. He survived fortunately but it was a rough time for them.
Also is this an add for bank of America
Your mom saying that is literally exactly what my mom has said it's so stressful
I got a lot of money coming to me and I don't know what to do with it. I'm thinking to put it in the bank .and that's all for now.eny thought or feed back on this. I look on the Web and all that say is to put it in the market. I peril don't know. I just got this app and lisioning to it. thanks
its so hard to get a taxi in NY. ride share has helped so much for that
okay, but it's easy for someone who is rich to say, "If you come into a large sum of money, don't change your spending patterns; just put that money away so it can multiply and work for you." That person was already living a good life because they called afford a high standard of living. It's not fair to ask someone struggling from one day to the next, who eats Raman noodles for dinner more often than not, and who has never had a vacation or traveled or done anything FUN... it's not fair to ask this person to continue living as tho they are poor. There's gotta be a middle ground, one in which you put away SOME of the extra money but still get to go see a movie or buy a book or visit a museum or order some hawt boots or put new tires on your car or move out of the slums or finally be able to buy your BFF a small bday present. These are all things a rich person can do on the reg, and they are so small, so seemingly inconsequential. When we come into a bit of money, I refuse to spend my k
yeah let's get that next season crackalackin'! lovin it!
so pumped for the newest season
amazing!
Examines the shame of being poor, helps you accept it and set it aside, and motivates you to improve your financial situation, while also acknowledging the systemic problems that contribute to income inequality. Vulnerable and funny and heartwarming (never thought I'd be using those words to describe a podcast about finances)
My gf's brother, his wife, and their soon to be 4 year old daughter have lived with my gf's parents since 2016. The grandparents provide childcare and low rent to the young family while the new mom finishes her degree and the new dad works as a driver.
interesting... but wouldn't prices go up in general? What would stop leasing agents and service providers from hiking rates to line their own pockets?
An excellent episode on myths around the Millenial generation
Yes. This podcast is gold.
For profit colleges definately scam students, but so do Public colleges.
Zoe D paid writers in exposure? Yikes
