In Episode 43, first things first we have to talk about all things Disney and Disneyland; I can't believe we made it happen but you know I had to share the details of how we made the magic happen! After that, we dig into the idea of focusing on the future while holding place for the Past band and being grateful for it. I share something I never have before; my pregnancy journal and to be honest I haven't cracked that thing open in so many years. I can't wait to share with you so sit back and let's chat~ Amanda --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/support
Our perspective shapes so much of what we do. Whether times are good or bad or whatever season of life what we tell ourselves matters. Just like we fuel our bodies what we feed our minds and allow in creates so much of the life we have. We can either let that be framed by others and their perspectives or create a storyline where we remind ourselves that no matter what is happening to us it can also be happening FOR US. Join us as we jump into another episode sharing life and all the things in between. As we take time to remind ourselves that being in the "process of life" doesn't dull the shine of a diamond but rather pressure creates a more precious gem.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/support
I can't remember if it's week 3 or 4 but all I know is we have got to get together and chat for more than one week in a row and it's so exciting I honestly can barely believe it. This episode is special to me because we are diving into this idea of control and the fact that at the end of the day, it's one of life's greatest illusions. With everything that went down at the end of last year the feeling of having all and yet none is such a real experience and one that I wanted to share with you. So grab your cuppa whatever brings you joy and let's dive into some more time together.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/support
Hey Happy Humans!  In this episode, we dive into the idea of restrictions vs restraint and what that looks like when raising tiny humans, having relationships with others as well as our relationship with ourselves and the things we care about. We dive into the idea of the present moment and hopefully take a break to listen, or finish a project but mainly spend time together as we continue to venture into this crazy thing called life. So grab your cuppa whatever brings you joy and join me for what I hope will be a meaningful conversation.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/support
Hello Gorgeous! We're back for another episode so grab your favorite cuppa and let's chat! In Episode 37 Amanda dives into this idea that we have become so focused on the idea of productivity whether it be our own or those around us that we might have gotten to distracted we can't see those around us and the purpose of people in our lives. We are so much more than the balances and checks of our lives as well as the check boxes that need to be filled in so many areas of our life. Regardless we're going to talk about that as well as Makeup by Mario, Lyle Lyle Crocodile, and all the things. As always, I'm so happy you're here friend!  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/support
Where have I been the last 4 months?? What has been going on? Well, that's going to take a while to explain so grab your fav beverage or settle in for a study session, or a load of laundry as we dive deep into the last 4 weeks and I share every last detail on this hour-long episode. Because if were honest no one really likes to wait for a part 2.  I do want to say I want to include a trigger warning for this episode as we cover several topics involving food, and pain, and briefly touch on the subject of assault triggers for those of our community who would like to be prepared; I wanted to include that Trigger Warning.  I am so excited for this season and all the lessons to share as we navigate this brand new year.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/support
Hi Babes! Well, we are officially 2/2 and by hindquarters are on the mend. In this episode, we dive into the idea of building trust with our tiny humans or humans in general. Because what can start as a small crack in the windshield can develop into so much more if we don't create the communication dock to return to. So join me as we chat all things Christmas decor, hemorrhoid journeys, Trader Joes Pineapple juice, and more! And as always thanks for tuning in friend! xo, Amanda --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/support

TW: In this episode, I broadly touch on sensitive subjects so I wanted to give you a heads up. So many of you have requested a dating episode speaking specifically to my dating life and experience and as always I wanted to be honest with you.  In this episode, I share how I unknowingly was guided by trauma when it came to dating and how now literally decades later I can see how that directed the relationships I was in before meeting Blake who was the complete opposite THANK GOD! I honestly was so unsure with this episode but eventually ended up deciding to post it. I hope that it encourages you in any way and if you feel it is meant for someone please feel free to share. Also, I have included several hotlines that I hope help if needed. As always; I love you, Happy Humans.  Substance Abuse Hotline- 1-800-662-4357 National Suicide Prevention Hotline- 1-800-273-8255 National Sexual Abuse Hotline- 1-800-656-4673  National Domestic Violence Hotline- 1-800-799-7233 --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/support
In Episode 30 we dive into the idea of Achievement culture and the toxicity it creates in the cycle of life. It starts from the womb and follows us to the tomb whether it's in early developmental skills like walking, talking, or school even as young as reading, and follows us to college, jobs, careers, etc. The idea is that we have to always be doing more, being more, and attaining more. We talk about how this hinders us not only as parents but as individuals as well. Come join us for the whole episode and also hear all about Trader Joe's new pineapple juice discovery! As always I'm happy you're here and thank you for listening.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/support
Did you ever grow up thinking that because your parents were adults they knew everything and the exact reason they did the things they did? That every decision they made they were doing it because they were certain and had knowledge only an adult or parent would and at some point we would reach an age and magically that knowledge would arrive for us? But as time went on and you graduated H.S., went to college, tried to find a job, figure out a career, or even got married and had kids you realized you still felt completely unsure of if everythinG you were doing you were right; like how did your parents know because if you were honest you still felt like a clueless kid?  In this episode, we touch on the idea that the only thing we can really be certain of especially in the last 2 years is that nothing is certain and that with so many things uncertainty is the only thing we are certain of. We touch on the fact that sometimes being uncertain can put us in a place of being on the defense and what we can do to help ourselves when that happens and a fun question to ask provided once again by Blake and I's old pre-marital counselor. Regardless it will hopefully be a good time that encourages you and reminds you that I am so grateful you're here.  Can't wait for it! xoxo,  Me  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/after-hours-with-amanda/support

In this episode, we dive into the idea of why so often people want to group Parents into categories of Friend vs Parent. Why is that a thing? What is it tied to and the choice I've made instead. I also walk through the steps I take when it comes to interacting with my tiny humans in any situation. In this episode, we break down the idea that we are not the person we cant to be because of our Tiny Humans. This idea that we want to go back to who we were before kids, that in some way that person was better.
