Description
Hi, I’m Dax Shepard, and I love talking to people. I am endlessly fascinated by the messiness of being human, and I find people who are vulnerable and honest about their struggles and shortcomings to be incredibly sexy. I invite you to join me as I explore other people’s stories. We will celebrate, above all, the challenges and setbacks that ultimately lead to growth and betterment. What qualifies me for such an endeavor? More than a decade of sobriety, a degree in Anthropology and four years of improv training. I will attempt to discover human “truths” without any laboratory work, clinical trials or data collection. I will be, in the great tradition of 16th-century scientists, an Armchair Expert.

This week on Flightless Bird, David Farrier begins to notice how much America loves cars. Why do 92% of American households have at least one vehicle? That's so many cars! The country's love of cars has transformed it, with not only roads - but with millions and millions of parking spaces. David becomes obsessed with all of America’s parked cars, sitting down with Henry Grabar - a staff writer at Slate who writes about cars and transportation, urban policy, and housing. Grabar has also been thinking a lot about how much of America is taken up by cars. Why in America, on average, are there up to 6 parking spaces for every car? Why does NY make more money off parking tickets than parking fees?

Be back in a while...binging documentaries...love
amazing interview! just downloaded her book
garbage. unsubed.
Does Dax seriously not realize how he's repeating the talking points of MAGA extremists, white supremacists, and every bigot in America. Using women as a prop to slam female trans children is just pitting one marginalized group against another by saying there's finite resources or rights in the society built by white supremacy. it's a rhetorical device white men have used to pit Asian and Latino Americans against Blacks. He used the same argument to demonize unhoused people. he thinks he's being an independent thinker but he's just a pawn unable to use critical thinking skills. instead of parroting right wing talking points, he's time would be better served actually reading up on psychology and medical expertises.
I literally have a smile on my face from beginning to end of these podcasts. you girls bring me so much joy you don't even know!

I'm a conservative and was so glad you explained the airport story. I didn't know what happened but saw the internet lose it's collective mind and knew there was more to the story. Also, you used a VERY broad brush blaming conservatives for judging the dinner photo. Perhaps it was just sh*tty people, because I saw NOTHING wrong with the photo - not for a second. Not everything is a conspiracy.
I'm sorry, I love Monica but this is the stupidest thing I've ever listened to.
I just had to jump in here and share my thoughts on the incredible podcast, "Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard." I recently went back and re-listened to some of the earlier episodes, and I'm reminded of just how much I love this show. https://www.ilocatelocal.com/bristol/business-services/printing-mart Dax Shepard's approach to interviews is so refreshing. He manages to create an atmosphere where guests feel comfortable enough to open up about their personal experiences and stories. It's like having a genuine conversation with a friend, and I think that's why this podcast resonates with so many people. https://bristol.yalwa.co.uk/ID_141269448/Printing-Mart.html

Monica just has very sincere reactions to things. Does she sometimes seem judgemental or a little close minded? Sure for a moment. She then follows up and is generally thoughtful and accepts thinking about different viewpoints. It feels honest- all of us are growing and learning.
I love this therapist! I wish I could speak with her. she seems amazing and a great listener?? wow!
🇳🇿 Go to Disney Land/World - you'll change, you'll start to love it!??! Yeah? Nah! I went as an unenthusiastic & have never had any desire to go back. 🥱🤣 Interesting podcast💐
