It’s a very important first half of a two-part story arc in which Janet and Dante start to get acquainted with The Spirit World! In this key episode of Book One, we meet the understandably grumpy Hei Bai, spend some time with an intimidatingly cool spirit dragon and his “nose hairs," and see a whole lot of Uncle Iroh’s hot bath-loving bare skin. Plus: Dante compares Prince Zuko to a couple of beloved vintage detectives, leading to a surprising impression. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
That’s right! It’s the voice of The Avatar himself, Zach Tyler Eisen! Join us for this rare appearance by the wonderful former actor who gave us Aang. Janet and Dante revisit Zach’s experience of recording ATLA, which he did when he was about the same age as the character he portrayed (while still enjoying the childhood Aang may have missed). Zach also weighs in on some of Aang’s tougher choices, and illuminates us about his current career passions! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Somehow we got lucky enough to welcome two back-to back Avatars! We go from Avatar Aang last week (Zach Tyler Eisen) to this week’s guest, James Garrett— otherwise known as Avatar Roku! listen to Avatar The Podcast instead of this show. They have weekly new episodes AND they do full real recaps unlike Braving the Elements. The hosts are the original voice actors but these other hosts on Avatar the Podcast are such better hosts.

this is a great show. my only complaint is their aversion to "spoilers" on a show that's 20+ years old .....

PLEASE GET SOME NEW ADS. why do you have to put on the SAME AD ABOUT STAR TREK EVERY AFLD BREAK. ITS SOOOOO ANNOYING. I end up skipping past it and that skip bleeds into the actual content I'm listening to and then I have to rewind and then fast forward a little more... GET DIVERSITY IN YOUR ADS

I also totally agreed with Dante when he said Aunt Wu is like the Oracle from The Matrix. She tells them exactly what they need to hear.

My fan theory about the cool guy that lets them in to see Aunt Wu is a member of the Order of the White Lotus, just keeping tabs on that part of the world.
