Description
Welcome to The Bad Wives Club! We’re Libby & Liz — two best friends bringing our phone conversations straight to your speakers. We talk about the good, the bad, and the real life of marriage and motherhood. We’ve been through it all together for over 15 years—growing up, growing families, and figuring out life one stage at a time. We’re not professionals, just two moms keeping it real and leaving the expert advice to, well… the experts. Tune in weekly to hear all about how we juggle our daily lives as working moms, all while confidently NOT doing it all (*insert husband here*)!

First off, some exciting news that Booty By Brabants is opening up a new store in the North Shore! We hear all about this amazing new location, so don't forget to check it out this Spring. We got so many amazing questions, so we're answering a bunch over a couple episodes. Today we talk about how you can make "wife" friends, opinions on the Karen Read murder trail, what our favorite staple pieces are for a timeless wardrobe, and how Liz glamorizes her workout to get her ass to the gym! We’re done with the era of mom guilt. In this episode, we're breaking up with the pressure to “do it all” and finally tossing out the guilt that comes with taking time for ourselves. Whether it’s chasing career goals, running a business, hitting the gym solo, or just sitting in silence with a coffee (without anyone touching you) you deserve it, mama. Society might’ve handed us a guilt trip, but we’re not packing our bags. Tune in as we talk about our perspectives of a work life balance, and why being a great mom doesn’t mean being everything to everyone, all the time! Happy Thursday BWC! We're frazzled this AM with the never easy task of moms leaving the house - of course Libby has a story of what just transpired before recording started, which evolves into screen time, Ipads, rough play amongst boys, and sibling relationships. We talk about that not-so-new parenting style "FAFO" (F*ck around and find out!) and agree that none of us are the most gentle parents. We talk about the difference between catholic vs. public schools, which route may be the best fit for our children, and why. Delilah had a MAJOR breakup with her pacifier, so we get into that whole discussion of how Liz and Delilah handled that situation like a champ! All up until....the great dog escape at the Fragala household that lead to ticks and injuries! We end this episode talking about "wind down" supplements that have been helping Liz manage her anxiety. How many stories can we tell in 30 min?! ALOT. Liz survived solo-parenting all while her husband was on a "work trip" in Vegas, following his every move. With a solid community of moms around her, she not only had many helping hands, but she also was thrown a curve ball (in the best way!). She tells us a really heart-warming story about her son being brave and confident, dealing with friendship dynamics head on. Libby wraps it up with the only excitement of her week - the doomsday of her husband opening her packages. We are working on our adult emotions around the kids, so here is your reminder to always apologize for losing your cool around the littles! If you loved this episode, please leave us a 5 star review! We are BACK!! After an unanticipated nine month pause, we are ready to come back as 2 peas on the pod. We want to give a HUGE thank you to our best friend Laura for starting the BWC. She hops on at the start of this episode to give her life update on this next season of hers. The past nine months brought some major changes in all of our lives, which we get into throughout the episode. The rest of the episode is Liz & Libby's first recording together - talking about why we took this unexpected break and how we have evolved over the past 9 months since our last episode. We talk about the lessons we've learned, how we've changed, and where we see ourselves (and the BWC!) going from here. We are so happy to be back and connect with our tiny yet mighty BWC fam. If you haven't already, please let us a 5 star review! Don't forget to follow us on instagram: @badwivesclubpodcast @lizfragala @libby.pisano
Today we dig into a ton of different topics! It's Libby's Birthday and she's getting ready to take the kids to Disney World. We explain why we take the title as "Bad Wives" and the roles our husbands play. We acknowledge our husbands love languages and talk about how we show appreciation and also possible resentments that build up in marriages. Liz explains how reading has become her version of self care while Laura focuses on relationships and Libby no longer people pleasing. We touch upon the "D" word, divorce, and we question, do opposites attract? We wrap up with a quick bio of what we do professionally and what a typical day in the life is as Liz, Libby and Laura.

Are you a control freak when it comes to the kids lunches, their outfits, packing for trips, scheduling their day, and delegating chores around the house to Dad? If you answered yes, you're a HELICOPTER WIFE. We're not so sure it's a terrible thing....but maybe we should put a little more trust in the Dads that they can get shit done without our psycho supervision! Yes, we like things done a certain way, but we're learning to let things go and give our husbands more credit that they can handle chaos just as good, even if it looks different to how we handle it.
On todays episode, we discuss the old fashioned "gender norms" and the roles husbands/wives and mom/dads played, and how our families function in the modern day (AKA the bad wives, where our marriages are 50/50!) The three of us vent about recent arguments between our spouses (not everything is always as peachy as you see on instagram) and how we run a household where efforts are equal in all categories. At the end, we get a little house renovation update from Libby!

Happy New Years, BWC fam! We're back with a fun new episode
where we recap our holiday break. Libby explores LEGO Discovery Center Boston with Joseph where they have everything from rides to a LEGO 4D Cinema. Liz and Laura break down their NYC trip with their families starting with The Christmas Spectacular at Radio City followed by lunch and The Sugar Factory and then The Sloomoo Institute where they make our own slime. Feeling greatful we talk about what we're bringing into 2024. But before we dive into all that - we got into a random but interesting conversation about boy/girl dynamics, how our children perceive same-sex couples, and breaking the "stigma" of what toys and activities are typically gender labeled. We also discuss the toxicity of not only children and technology, but us parents being addicted! Let's break some bad habits in 2024 and have more "no phone" zones.

A little BWC update 💜we are going to take a short break from the podcast, but we will be back before you know it! We love sharing our light hearted, funny and relatable mom conversations with you all but right now it doesn’t feel right as we grieve a recent, very tragic loss & our hearts are elsewhere. Thank you all so much for your understanding and support – we appreciate you and will be back when we are ready!
We're baaaack with Jenny B for part two! This time we switch gears back to the the mom talk, kicking off with the thoughts of having a FIFTH kid and how our society doesn't produce the big families like the good old days. Unlike the three of us, Jenny is a stay at home mom, so it's really cool to hear her perspective, and it's true... the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Liz asks Jenny how someone can be a great support system, not just by "offering" help, but actually showing up, and that it's ok to say YES to help. We talk about the double edged sword of social media, where you want to post your most proud moments but are sensitive to others who may be struggling (ie., pregnancy announcements), and last but not least, we get into the Belichick's upcoming move out west!

Jenny Bee, one of the baddest baddies out there is back again! But this time this mom of 4 is talking about the end of an era. After 12 years & 5 Super Bowls with the Patriots Steve and Jenny are saying, "good bye New England" and "Hello Seattle". We get juicy talking all about "Dynasty" being a smear campaign, what she will miss most about New England and when she met Taylor Swift's dad at Gillette and how he crossed the line. You guys asked, and we got the answers!
With a little guest appearance from our 3 X Super Bowl champ spilling the tea on his new restaurant and a little of what inspired that.

We have Chef Jeff filling in for Laura today! We thought this would be a perfect opportunity for the original 3 musketeers to sit down and reflect on where it all began with Liz & Jeff, and the shifts in their relationship over the past 10 years. We take you back to where they first met, how their relationship took form, and how Libby was their third wheel along for the ride! Libby puts them both in the hot seat and asks them questions about their last fight, what their favorite thing is about each other, biggest challenges they've overcome as a couple, their different parenting styles, and new favorite family traditions they've started.

This one is for the single girls, girlfriends, fiancés, wives & mamas! No matter what stage you’re at, we somehow cover it all in perhaps one of our most favorite recent episodes! We dish out some tips for our future brides, and Libby shares the best piece of advice she received from her Dad. Do weddings need to be extravagant? Do we need this fairytale wedding or does that become less important with age? We discuss the importance of having those difficult conversations PRIOR to engagement and “putting it all on the table” sooner rather than later. OH let’s not forget the Bravo drama! You know Laura & Libby had to relate this back to Summer House & The Valley’s couples most recent splits. We shift over to the mama talk – how do you know when you’re ready and how do you know when you’re done?! Liz & Laura are in the THICK of it with their young kiddos, talking about how no one prepares you for how busy schedules can get once they enter elementary school. Last but not least, we do a little rapid fire Q&A on relationships – how to get out of a lull, how important is sex and intimacy, is it ok to keep secrets, and can a relationship get worse before they get better? Tune in for our thoughts!

In the past we've talked about love languages, but we just recently read the book "The 5 Love Languages of Children" by Dr. Gary Chapman and Dr. Ross Campbell and we think it is a MUST read for parents. We learned all about what each love language means, how to figure out which one is your child’s specific language, and how us as parents can tweak our behaviors to connect with our kids on a deeper level to keep their love tanks full.
Who knew acts of service, quality time, physical touch, words of affirmation or gift giving could help us relate to and strengthen not only relationships with our partners, but our kids too!
The book we read can be found here: The Five Love Languages of Children

Welcome back Stellina! You guys loved our first episode with Stellina Feri, pediatric sleep consultant from Tweet Dreamzz, back in the fall when she gave us all the newborn and baby sleep tips & tricks, but today we're switching gears to toddlers!
Libby's son Joseph is 3.5 years old and has been sleeping in bed with her for over a year, so we're calling in the expert to help break this habit! Stellina talks to us about understanding toddlers sleep needs, introduces the concept of a nighttime routine chart, and how to transition toddlers into their own beds with a few simple methods.
Now through the end of May, Tweet Dreamzz is giving 10% off to all BWC listeners! Just tell them we sent you after your phone consult!

Today we are doing some rapid fire questions about anything and everything we are loving right now! We dish out our favorite beauty and skincare products, household appliances (lol @ the little things that excite us), recent books we've read, family recipes, etc.
Libby recently read the book The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt which opened up a conversation about the mental illness epidemic the gen-z generation has/is going through with the boom of social media, and how the conversation of mental illness is much more broadcasted in the world we live in today vs. our parents generation.
