Great podcast, well written and easy to follow, given the complexity of the woven stories. Can't believe I've only just stumbled across this, given the amount of true crime I watch/listen to, and the impact the scientific breakthroughs have had. Would definitely recommend a listen.

Brilliantly researched and sensitively presented. Lots of brand new scientific techniques were first used during this investigation. I am surprised that this podcast is the first time I've heard anything about this case. Definitely one of the best true crime series I have listened to.

I don't think it's shocking that they didn't find the second barrel. Why should they have found something that they were not looking for. 300 ft is quite far.

What a horrendous story! This podcast is so well done, I really have to put it at the top-my favorite. I did not think I could find one that was so riveting, so informative that I had to listen to it in one day. I learned so much about DNA testing and the advances science has made in finding and identifying the unidentified! God bless each person involved in solving these unbelievable cases as well as those telling it and sharing their stories. Thank you for presenting this story with the dignity and respect it certainly deserved.

Bear Brook was a model of complete and responsible journalism. In 1985, I was a senior in HS a few towns north of Bear Brook state park and I was around that area for years for work and recreation. I never learned the whole story until now, 3.5 decades later. Thank you and very well done!
