Sheikh Belal Assaad holds a Degree in Shari’ah and Da’wah from the ‘Ad-Da’Wah Wal-Irshad University Institute’, Tripoli, Lebanon 1995.

He continued his studies in Biomedical Science at Victoria University (VU), followed by a postgraduate degree in Teaching Science and Student Welfare & Well-being’ also from Victoria University (VU). He also competed a second postgraduate degree in Migration Law and Practice from the Australian National University (ANU).

Sheikh Belal is a registered Minister of Religion (title: Imam) and Marriage Celebrant with the Australian Federation of Islamic Council and the Australian Governor General’s Office.

He has been in the field of Da’wah delivering regular khutbas and a public speaker locally and abroad for the past 26 years. He is internationally known and is invited to guest speak and lecture regularly through various organisations internationally and nationally as much as his time permits. Sheikh Belal was born in Melbourne Australia, and currently resides there.

In this lecture we continue the discussion on the Islamic teachings of ‘enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong’. We learn together about the remaining points on the guidelines and approach a Muslim must know and apply well in order to fulfill this noble practice which Allah described the believers with and entrusted them.
In a time of great trials and tribulations, injustices, misguidance, false ideologies and alluring temptations, the topic of enjoining what is right and prohibiting what is wrong has become a crucial topic. However, the Muslim community must learn the wisdom and approach in doing so, applying the Quranic verse ‘invite to the path of your Lord with wisdom and goodly advice’ (16:125).
This is a classic true story, which I originally delivered in 1997 and became a source of salvation and hope for all those who have gone too deep in sins and lost hope of a return. Again, by request I delivered it in the 2023 Light Upon Light UK Tour. It is about repentance and hope in Allah’s Mercy and Forgiveness, a real life event that I hope will give you comfort and inspiration, inshaAllah.
I thoroughly enjoyed conducting this interview with Sheikh Adnaan Menk, the nephew of Mufti Menk. Our conversation delved into the realms of business, economics, and finance, exploring his research thesis at Madina University which specifically addressed these topics, with a particular emphasis on cryptocurrency.
