Gregg Giannotti, AKA Gio, is the co-host of one of the most popular sport radio shows in the nation, Boomer and Gio. And while Gio isn't afraid to go head to head with anyone in the studio - he's deathly afraid of volcanoes. He worries that the dormant super-volcano at Yellowstone National Park will erupt at any moment and send civilization into an apocalyptic "volcanic winter."  This week we sit down with Gio and avid adventurer George Kourounis. George has spent a lot of time in volcanoes so he's the perfect person to help Gio get over his fear. Find out more about George's work here. Be sure to listen to Boomer and Gio weekday mornings on WFAN. Host: Larry Mullins Producers: Jill Webb and Dempsey Pillot Audio Engineer: Anddy Egan-Thorpe Managing Producer of Podcasts: Femi Redwood  If you have a weird fear you’d like to share, submit it to YourWeirdestFears@audacy.com for a chance to be on the show!
Hour 1 Mitchell Robinson returned and the Knicks destroyed the Raptors last night, 145-101. If the Knicks go deep into the playoffs, Boomer thinks Tom Thibodeau should be considered for coach of the year. Gio does not see any way in which the Knicks will ‘lay an egg’ in the playoffs. Gio wonders how we will remember this Knicks and Rangers team when we think about them in the future. Jerry is here for his first update of the day but first we talked about the Mets game being postponed to tomorrow. Gio said he would go to way more games if there was a retractable roof at Citi Field. Jerry has the sounds from last night’s Knicks win. Draymond Green was thrown out of the game last night after only 4 minutes. In the final segment of the hour, the NFL and the college football playoffs will be going head to head the Saturday before Christmas. Boomer wonders which division in the NFL will be the most competitive.  Hour 2 Yankees opening day is today and they open up in Houston, their mortal enemies. Expectations seem really low for Giancarlo Stanton. How many games will Stanton, Judge and Soto all be in the lineup? Anthony in Belleville, NJ is calling today’s Yankees game a ‘must win’. Jerry returns for another update and starts with audio in relation to Yankees opening day. Aaron Boone talked about what they’re doing without DJ to start the season. James Harden doesn’t ever see a time where he and Daryl Morey will patch things up. The Knicks blew out the Raptors last night. Saquon Barkley was on with the Kelce brothers podcast and he explained why he had a problem with Tiki Barber. Tiki Barber then responded to that yesterday. We also talked about the issues with the transfer portal and college athletes. The NCAA wants to stop prop betting involving college athletes. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer tried to schedule a colonoscopy and the earliest date they have is November 6th.  Hour 3 Colleen Wolfe from NFL media said a credible source told her that Rob Saleh and Woody Johnson had a heated argument at the end of the winter meetings. Connor Hughes of SNY responded on Twitter saying he was right near them and nothing of the sort happened. So once again we have a Jets story because they are always the butt of jokes, whether it’s true or not. Boomer also revealed he cuts hamburgers and sausage sandwiches in half. Gio said you can’t do that or all the juices come out. Jerry returns for an update, but first we have audio from a few years ago when Boomer kept talking about Juan Soto and it drove Jerry crazy. Jerry went nuts and just kept yelling ‘Juan Soto’. Mike Francesa talked about dealing with ‘multiple banks’ in relation to the Ohtani stuff. Chris Russo is not happy with the Eagles in Brazil being on Peacock. In the final segment of the hour, many women have taken to Tik Tok to talk about getting punched in the face randomly on the streets of NYC.  Hour 4 Boomer started the hour by bringing up the Francis Scott Key bridge collapse in Baltimore. Gio doesn’t know anything about the Mayor down there, but he was impressed with how he handled the press conference for being a young guy. We then talked about Yankees opening day and what we can expect for them this year. This should be an all in year with having Juan Soto. Frank The Tank from Barstool calls in to promote his upcoming walk with Boomer. We talked about how dangerous NY city is. Gio said, ‘if you hang around the barbershop too long, you’re getting a haircut’. Boomer said he doesn’t know what that means, so Gio explains. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with the Yankees as their season gets underway in Houston. Nick Saban claims to have sent his first email now that he’s retired. Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco talked about taking their show live from Atlanta. CBS NY Anchor Dana Tyler said goodbye as she is retiring. She dated singer Phil Collins for many years. The Moment of The Day involved Boomer getting duped by an online story about Draymond Green. In the final segment of the show, Caleb Williams was on the broadcast for an NCAA women’s basketball game and was seen with a pink phone case, pink painted nails and lip gloss.

Yankees opening day and what we can expect for them this year. This should be an all in year with having Juan Soto.
We have audio from a few years ago when Boomer kept talking about Juan Soto and it drove Jerry crazy. Jerry went nuts and just kept yelling ‘Juan Soto’.
Colleen Wolfe from NFL media said a credible source told her that Rob Saleh and Woody Johnson had a heated argument at the end of the winter meetings. Connor Hughes of SNY responded on Twitter saying he was right near them and nothing of the sort happened.

Boomer poses the question regarding going into games late in the season.
Gio is confident that when all is said and done, the Knicks won't just fall apart.
Hour 1 Boomer is pumped and didn’t sleep much last night as the Rangers reached 100 points again and are the first team to clinch a playoff spot. Gio and Eddie were busting balls saying there’s a curse for all teams that win the President’s Cup so they expect the Rangers to be bounced in the first series. Boomer said he has ‘drip’ today and Gio said he is ‘glazin’ over the Rangers. That’s some hip and cool talk right there. Jerry is here for his first update and starts with the calls of Sam Rosen from MSG on the Rangers win over the Flyers. Roger Goodell talked about the new kickoffs in the NFL. He said it may need some tweaking. Goodell is not concerned with injuries for the Wednesday Christmas game. Boomer could see Shedeur Sanders as the Cowboys quarterback if they don’t do a deal with Dak. In the final segment of the hour, Diddy’s house was raided, and the man arrested as his ‘drug mule’ was a former basketball player at Syracuse. His name is Brendan Paul.  Hour 2 Could Jim Harbaugh end up taking an Ohio State WR with his first pick in the draft? All of a sudden, J.J. McCarthy is now a top 5 pick, with some saying he could be taken #2 by the Commanders. Nobody was talking about McCarthy last year when they talked about Michigan, and now all of a sudden he’s a top 5 pick. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the NFL changing kickoffs. Roger Goodell was asked about legalized sports betting. What is Ochocinco talking about when he said, ‘we call him Russell’. The Rangers beat the Flyers last night and became the first team to clinch a playoff spot. Kyrie Irving is having a great year in Dallas. We thought he would go there and blow that team up like he did with the Nets. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer ran into a sales guy by the coffee machine and he said he couldn’t believe he let Gio break down quarterbacks in the draft.  Hour 3 Gio is finding proof that nobody was talking about JJ McCarthy being a top pick until a few weeks ago. How did it go up after the season was already over? Gio said there’s no way the top 4 prospects in the draft are all quarterbacks. Michael Penix has fallen because of injuries. Boomer is very curious where he will end up. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the NFL’s new kickoffs. Dan Campbell is fired up for the new rule. It excites him because other coaches are ‘spooked’ by it. Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco talked about a woman who tried to kill her ex and Ocho said it kind of excites him. An owl escaped from the Bronx zoo and became a symbol of freedom. Then he was found dead from eating rat poison and pigeons. Saquon Barkley was on the New Heights Podcast with the Kelce brothers. Sauce Gardner was on a podcast and some people claim he said something anti-semetic. He posted an apology to social media. The Rangers beat the Flyers and clinched a playoff spot. In the final segment of the hour, what are stadiums doing with their food? Everything looks insane at ballparks. This is why everyone is fat. Gio said airports actually have healthy options for people to eat. But ballparks? No. The Mets have a fried rainbow cookie egg roll.  Hour 4 Tomorrow is Opening Day and the weather looks terrible for the Mets so we expect that to be pushed back to Friday. Gio said they should move the game as soon as possible so that people can reschedule their lives. A caller wonders if we would rather have to do #2 on an airplane or at a stadium. Boomer demonstrated what it might look like if he had to get busy in an airplane bathroom. RFK Jr named his Vice President and it’s not Aaron Rodgers. Jerry returns for his final update and starts with Roger Goodell talking about a double header on Christmas day, which happens to be a Wednesday this year. Adam Schefter talked about the Cowboys situation with Dak Prescott. Mike McDaniel talked about the possibility of the Dolphins signing Odell Beckham Jr. Ian Eagle is the new voice of something called ‘Gravy Racing’. It’s a commercial for cat food. The Moment of The Day involves Boomer being pumped about the Rangers and Gio and Eddie shooting him down over and over again. In the final segment of the show, Baseball Reference has a prediction model that has the Yankees only winning 71 games. We also talked about Jonathan Diller, the NYPD officer killed in the line of duty.
Boomer is pumped and didn’t sleep much last night as the Rangers reached 100 points again and are the first team to clinch a playoff spot.
