The Seahawks end their final week before the beginning of the regular season and coach Mike Macdonald feels prepared for the task. The Groz joins the show to catch up with Salk and dive in on the Mariners, including what his early impressions are of the Dan WIlson era. Later, Salk is joined by Stacy Rost to get her analysis on the Seahawks and how they shape up heading into the 2024 season along with where she thinks the Mariners are currently at.
Salk begins hour two by wondering if Edgar can be the key to unlocking Julio Rodriguez for the remainder of 2024. He then details the biggest keys to the Seahawks having a successful season in  2024. ESPN Seahawks beat reporter Brady henderson joins the show for Blue 88, with questions about Uchenna Nwosu, potential additional Seahawks roster moves and the Brandon Aiyuk extension.
Salk opens the show on a very somber note with the tragic passing of hockey star Brady Gaudreau. He then revisits his conversation with Casey Sadler in which they talked about everything from clubhouse culture, dealing with adversity, the current Mariners rotation and a bunch more.

The Seahawks have announced their 53-man roster and their practice squad roster. Russell Wilson has been named the Week 1 starter for the Pittsburgh Steelers. // Sports Business Insider Andrew Brandt joins the show to talk about a new development in the NFL and how it could have long-term effects that could raise some issues. What impacts would private equity have on the league going forward? // Salk goes deeper into his opinion that private equity has no place in the NFL and it would hurt the league more than it would benefit it.
Salk and Casey Sadler spend the third hour of the show diving in on Casey's experiences with Dan Wilson and how a manager can best set his players up for success. Then Salk gives Casey some rapid fire questions, including how a clubhouse deals with midseason adversity/a midseason shake-up, such as the Kendall Graveman trade in 2021 in which Sadler was there for, along with Casey's analysis on the Mariners dominant rotation.
Former Mariners reliever Casey Sadler joins the show to talk baseball with Salk, starting with the Mariners letting go of Scott Servais and bringing in Dan Wilson to be the new manager. Later, Salk and Casey discuss some insight that Ryan Divish gave on the Marine Layer Podcast about the possibility of the Mariners being forced to trade a starting pitcher or even Randy Arozarena this offseason.
The Mariners win their second straight series, this time taking down the Rays. Salk recaps it and what he took away from it all. They then revisit their conversation with Brady Henderson discussing the Seahawks outlook for 2024.
It's our first Washington Wednesday of the college football season and Brock breaks down the outlook for the Huskies under Jedd Fisch. Then, we discuss Logan Gilbert and how he is consistently improving. Plus, a Ranked with a nod to preseason standouts.
We go through some of last year's Seahawks stats and predict whether they will be better or worse in those areas this season. Then, Salk asks Brady some quick hit questions on the Seahawks roster cuts and questions who the Seahawks captains will be this year after some veteran departures.
Salk is joined by ESPN Seahawks beat reporter Brady henderson to discuss the notable roster cuts that were made by the Seahawks, including preseason standout Jamie Sheriff. They then dive into what the Seahawks expectations are for 2024, and if they will be better, worse or right at where people expect them to be. Brock joins the show for Blue 88, with topics including Pete Carroll, any notable NFL roster cuts for the Seahawks to look at and UW players to watch for early on.
With the Mariners offense back to looking lost at the plate, Salk opens up the hour talking about how we've seen that version of the Mariners far too many times this season between the lack of runs and all of the strikeouts. Later, they re-air their conversation with Jeff Passan in which he talks further about Scott Servais, Dan Wilson and the Mariners playoff chances with a month to go in the season.
We talk confidence and how much it plays into a team's outlook. How much confidence can it give this Seahawks team that they come in with a new scheme on both sides of the ball after years of not quite having the answers to problems? Then, inspired by Mike Sando's Qb tiers column, Brock ranks his top 5 current NFL QB's.
Brock and Salk continue the conversation on Warren Sharp analyzing why he believes that it is ridiculous to have Geno Smith ranked as the league's 20th best quarterback and the numbers that he uses to back it up. They then welcome on ESPN's Jeff Passan to discuss further on the Scott Servais/Dan Wilson saga, Julio Rodriguez's swing percentage, and the outlook of the Mariners for the final month of the season.
The Mariners have an insane record when they score 4+ runs in a game this season. Brock and Salk discuss that at some length. Brock also has another Madden code to give away, so two callers play some trivia in hopes of prevailing for the code. In Blue 88, Brocks takes a look at both Manti Teo's view on the Seahawks, Warren Sharp's analysis on Geno Smith and which Seahawks veteran has left us with more questions than answers in the preseason.
The Mariners won again last night, taking down the Rays. And they did so by playing a competent game at the plate. Salk says doing just that is all that they need to do during the final month. They then re-air their interview with Dan Wilson in which he shares his vision as a manager, why he wanted the job and much more.
After our conversation with Dan Wilson, Brock thinks Dan Wilson's likeability and people skills are a big part of why he was brought in. Then, we discuss how one of the most important things for anyone taking over the manager role for the M's is their relationship with Julio. Can Dan Wilson unlock him? Can he get this offense to show some consistency?
What did everyone think of the Mariners performance over the weekend in their series win against the Giants? Brock and Salk share their takeaways. They then welcome on new Mariners manager Dan Wilson to get his insight on what motivated him to be a manager, what type of manager he wants to be, how to unlock Julio Rodriguez and plenty more.
What is the true reason that Scott Servais was let go by the Mariners? Salk shares his take on it as he and Brock open up hour two. They then look at the Seahawks Takeaways from the final preseason game against the Browns, including Ryan Grubb, the running game and much more. In Blue 88, Brock dives in on the Seahawks defense being underrated, what Cleveland did different offensively on Saturday and the biggest UW Football storylines heading into their first game on Saturday.
The Mariners took two out of three games from the Giants over the weekend. Question is, did it really feel different? Salk gives his thoughts on that.
