We are happy to welcome back Gee Scott Sr. to the Bucknuts Morning 5 today. How high is the standard within Ohio State's football program? Well, we all know it is very high, but as he is known to do, Mr. Scott aka The Buckeye Preacher articulated it perfectly. The standard is 'Straight A's across the board." Why? Because there "Ain't no B-plus in Buckeye Nation." That is just a sprinkling of the wisdom and insight that Gee brings to the show. He and Dave Biddle discuss the national championship run and Gee Scott Jr. being a valuable cog as the starting tight end and much more. That is coming your way on the Wednesday 5ish. Ohio State is currently searching for an offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator and offensive line coach. Leave your resume at the door. Should we be panicked that those openings exist? Or do we see the absences as a way for heart to grow fonder? Bill Kurelic and Mark Porter are here to make sense of the staff upheaval and offer added perspective on many other life-affecting issues. New rankings. New targets. 'Veteran' experts. That's today's show. We dive deep on Ohio State coaches getting out on the recruiting trail as potential new Buckeyes are identified. Let's just say plenty of time has been spent in the Peach State recently.  Who is Ohio State focused on? Our guys - both ... uhh ... 'veterans' - Bill Kurelic and Mark Porter are ready to opine.  All that plus love for BP Miller and a look at updated 247Sports rankings that bolstered Quincy Porter and Turbo Rogers. Ohio State's new defensive coordinator -- whoever that might end up being -- will inherit just three returning starters. Those three players are very good -- Caleb Downs, Davison Igbinosun and Sonny Styles -- but this will be the first time in recent memory that the Buckeyes will have eight new starters on the defensive side of the ball. What will the depth chart look like for OSU this fall on defense? Dave Biddle and Steve Helwagen delve into that and much more on the Wednesday 5ish. How does Ohio State defend the crown? It's a process. Recruiting. Portal time. Internal development. We'll track all of it this offseason.  Why not start today? How does Jim Knowles leaving affect recruiting? Which QBs are getting Ohio State coaches to visit? Which offensive linemen have seen Justin Frye at their high school? Which schools are trying to also recruit prime Buckeye targets? The spectrum was spanned topic wise. Spend 5ish with us this a.m., 'Nutters! Well, we thought there was a good chance Jim Knowles would not return as Ohio State's defensive coordinator next season. But we did not initially see him jumping to another Big Ten team. However, on Sunday, it was revealed that Knowles will take the same position at Penn State. What led to this? Who are some possible candidates to replace him at OSU? Dave Biddle and Dan Rubin cover that and much more on the Monday 5ish. The similarities between Ohio State's 2014 and 2024 national championships are striking. Each team was left for dead multiple times during the regular season, only to go on a magical postseason run and prove all of their doubters extremely wrong. 2014 of course featured the first season of the 4-team College Football Playoff and the eventual national champs were the final team to make it. Ten years later, the 12-team CFP was born ... and the Buckeyes won that one, too. After being the lowest-seeded team to host a first-round game (seed No. 8). There are more we can point to as well, but those are a few. This brought to mind a question: Which coaching job was the best? 2014 or 2024? And you can't just say "Yes." You have to pick one. Jonah Booker and Dave Biddle do exactly that on today's show, plus discuss the Jim Knowles situation, teams coming after Carnell Tate and much more. That is coming your way on the Friday 5ish. We could get used to these post-title winning vibes. Nothing like earning the hardest-fought title in college football history. So what comes next? Lots of kudos and today we loaded the stocking for Justin Frye. Often vilified, the offensive line coach ultimately crafted a coaching performance worthy of infinite praise.  We also dove deep on the transfer portal and key, impending decisions.  Want video breakdowns from the natty W? We have that, too.  All of that and more as we are tasked with covering the NATIONAL CHAMPS. Spend 5ish with us this a.m., 'Nutters! We are still basking in the glow of Ohio State's national championship and that will likely be how we feel for quite some time. What a magical run it was for the Buckeyes, culminating with the 34-23 win over Notre Dame in the national title game on Monday. On today's show, Dave Biddle flies solo and looks back at the national championship, takes a quick look-ahead to next season's team, and answers questions from the live audience.
