Why does the media insist on calling mixed-race people Black? I winced at the dismissal of Barack Obama's maternal heritage and, here we go again, dismissing Ms. Harris' matrilineal heritage. I want there to be some explanation other than the "one-drop rule" with its white supremacist rationale but I don't know what that reason might be.
