Description

Dr. Ronald Dante is a talented hypnotist (and not an actual doctor) whose mind-bending schemes span decades. Dante worked the smoke-filled nightclubs of 1960s Hollywood and rode the self-help craze of the 1980s and 90s, hypnotizing women out of their fortunes, taking out hits on his rivals and opening up one of the biggest fake universities in history. Host Sam Mullins tracks Dante through yacht clubs, prison cells, trailer parks and theme parks to uncover the unbelievable true story of the greatest con man you’ve never heard of.

Apparently saying thank you and being grateful to the people who helped you is also a value that was not instilled in these boys. Too much time talking about flat earth and fake moon landings and not enough time taking about common courtesy and gratitude. Next time I open a gift I guess I dont need to say thank you because it was the gift givers choice to give it to me. crazy.

is it just me, or is there a droning noise in the background? like one chord of music playing continuously... it kinda makes me think I'm going crazy, like there's something oddly off about what I'm hearing. am I the only one who notices this type of background music?

These people totally tried to scam me! But lucky for me I'm horrible at money management so I always choose high with holding rates and my degree doesn't put me in a high wage category so I knew it was a scam immediately and started laughing at the lady. She hung up but the calls continued for almost a month.

My favorite part is how PeeWee Herman gives the eating disorder trigger warning every ep. Kind of random, but still nostalgic.

They act like this isn’t clearly a scam. Like it isn’t obvious. That’s common sense. You don’t spend your own money. And if you do you would stop at a certain point. There are certain ways big name companies act. This doesn’t make sense.
