Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!Richard suffered some time travelling issues as he rolled into this show and feels a new affinity with his American chums as a result. Brian, on the other hand, goes political again and Blake indulges in some Anglophobic aquatic hate speech before announcing his undying love for a new piece of gear.Brian has to write a lot of "Q"s and the guys are suspicious about his motivations for doing so and of course Chat GPT comes back in to focus. Richard has been learning about how some educational establishments are tackling the growing problem of Chat GPT teaching and Brian quickly dismissed his views.  There was a message from a listener this week (Thanks Nick) which asked whether the guys would have a little dive into the world of DAWs and guitar recording so the guys attempt to do just that with mixed results. This episode feels extremely on topic. Must be something in the water. Oh look Richard messed up another initialism, business as normal then.Tropical fish capacitors, Ai generated podcasts, Bill Microsoft, Fungi, Focuswangler 2000, Lemon Curry?...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!We are on Patreon now too!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)Awesome Merch and DIY mods:https://modyourownpedal.com/collections/booksFind us at:https://www.wamplerpedals.com/https://www.instagram.com/WamplerPedals/https://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdVrg4Wl3vjIxonABn6RfWwContact us at: podcast@wamplerpedals.comSupport the show
Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!Brian advises that Blake should isolate himself in the shred shed as he appears to have developed several interesting strains of virus in his household, and is then amazed at the girth of baritone strings. This leads into some admiration of the current Squier range and Baritone scale length discussion. Brian then goes into a mysterious black hole and Richard does his best to rescue him but fails miserably as it degenerates into a local politics discussion. Richard has bought a new guitar - and the time it took from telling Brian and Blake it existed to buying it was a new show record. He's changed his mind about reliced guitars and Brian manages to drag the conversation back to the gutter. There is also some discussion about the new Marshall pedal reissue range, including Brian breaking down part of the schematic, and he also gets called out in public.Brian has been educating Richard on amp setup with predictably amusing results before attempting to do an a cappella tap solo.  Meanwhile Blake ponders whether Dave Grohl is the nicest man in music. He's certainly up there. Like the UFO that Richard saw. Yes you read that right. Theres also some talk about the weird emotions that one goes through when selling a guitar.  Monstrous swords, Mallard updates, Lying Ai, Time travel conundrums, Qunintruple denim, the court of the crimson king,...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!We are on Patreon now too!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)Awesome Merch and DIY mods:https://modyourownpedal.com/collections/booksFind us at:https://www.wamplerpedals.com/https://www.instagram.com/WamplerPedals/https://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdVrg4Wl3vjIxonABn6RfWwContact us at: podcast@wamplerpedals.comSupport the show
Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast! It's Blake's turn to join the ranks of the unwell this week, and he's not annoyed at all, and Richard has been rendered 25% more stupid as a result of visiting a well known front page for the internet. Blake's also been working a new harmonizer pedal with Mr. Black and tells us all about it while Brian yells at clouds before breaking down some facts about the Tennessee Twanger. JHS released some new fuzzes and a battery sag utility pedal and the guys talk about it despite horrendous lag before looking at other random pedals. Brian laments the difficulties of pedal naming and Richard points out a problem he's come across more than once. Blake has found a new favorite frequency with some practical results and tells us all about it. Why do we stop exploring new music as we get older? The guys talk about an article that breaks down some of the reasons we may have for looking to new music more in certain parts of our life. Richard attempts to give a half-baked synopsis which prompts Brian into Hillbilly robot summariser mode. No - not the Chat GPTS!! Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!Brian is contemplating a career as a professional whistler and goat sound impersonator while Blake has been annoying his family with his wrestling impressions and Richard wants to talk about guitars. Welcome to Chasing Tone!Blake has his new Tube Amp expander and the guys talk about this and some battery powered tomfoolery too.  If Brian can put a switch and a blue LED on it, he's definitely gonna be doing it.  Richard wants a new pedalboard and has some wood envy and the guys look into how to fix this.  Have you ever wondered how much money guitar players actually make? The guys watched this video and discussed it for a minute before the inevitable tangental traversal occurred. Eventually they return to the subject and there is some actual rational debate. Not much, but some.  Multi-metas, Starch wars, Dork off, Polar pops, Don't milk Blake, ChatGPT again...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!We are on Patreon now too!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)Awesome Merch and DIY mods:https://modyourownpedal.com/collections/booksFind us at:https://www.wamplerpedals.com/https://www.instagram.com/WamplerPedals/https://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdVrg4Wl3vjIxonABn6RfWwContact us at: podcast@wamplerpedals.comSupport the show
Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast! The saga of Brian's use of Chat GPT to avoid him ever having to communicate with other human beings continues, much to the annoyance of Richard, and the guys look at the issue of who owns the intellectual property to AI generated material.  There was also an interesting article about the state of the music industry and the revenues of each form which the guys take a look at before tackling the recent Superbowl half time show. Richard has learnt something about the production of a classic 1970's song and it blew his mind, but before he tells Brian and Blake about it, he first has to teach Brian about the song.  He also reveals a terrible fact about the band's name before moving on to the gift that keeps giving, the ongoing saga of Pink Floyd and Roger Waters.Marshall are re-releasing a bunch of pedals, including the Bluesbreaker and the Guv'nor, so the guys break down the news and Brian inevitably returns at Chat GPT for answers. Sigh. When will he learn? There was also an early release of the TONEX pedal that gets discussed and leads to some mystery. Call in Scooby! Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!Brian is a blowing in the wind melodiously as we start this episode with some good ole' fashioned brain foggery and he admits to one common mistake that people make when building DIY pedals. By people he means him. Meanwhile Blake has been reaching stereo tonal nirvana thanks to his new Wampler Pedal.Richard is unwell again with round 2 of the winterflu and looks at the twitter war between Pink Floyd's Roger Waters and David Gilmour's wife and writing partner, Polly Samson. Somehow this also involves Hulk Hogan and Macho Man Randy Savage. Richard also rants off about unsubstantiated personal views that are in no way endorsed by the podcast and he makes some highly idiotic statements before revealing a shocking secret that he instantly regrets. Brian has invented a new cryptocurrency and the guys need convincing to a degree. Meanwhile Blake lets us in to an industry secret involving Mr. Dumble and why he wouldn't be part of a cashless society. We also discover Brian has been furthering his journey into AI despite the protests of literally everybody except Skynet. Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast! We get off to a good start when Brian plays the wrong theme tune, it's only gonna get worse I assure you...we also livestreamed this episode with mixed results so if you want to hear Richard without the chipmunk voice, this is the place to be. There was a leak of a Strymon pedal this week and the chaps talk about it - there are some mixed views. There was also a peak at the new IK Multimedia AmpliTube Tonex and the guys also talk about it and Blake has had a sneak peak at the software. Blimey guv'nor, thats almost on topic! Google have been making Ai generated elevator music and the guys have views - also Richard may or may not be a massive liar - and the debate on AI rumbles on. Sarah Connor?  Richard also discovered the backstory behind the John Lydon Eurovision attempt and it was not what he expected - he feels guilty for being so judgemental, but why change the habit of a lifetime? Eric Johnson is playing at the Woodshed Guitar experience this year and Brian is stoked to be going! He tells us a little bit about what to expect based on his previous experiences. Brian turns Englishish, Axel Wyland, Omnijazz, Tim Apple, Suhr Alt-T's, Twitterland...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!We are on Patreon now too!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)Awesome Merch and DIY mods:https://modyourownpedal.com/collections/booksFind us at:https://www.wamplerpedals.com/https://www.instagram.com/WamplerPedals/https://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdVrg4Wl3vjIxonABn6RfWwContact us at: podcast@wamplerpedals.comSupport the show
Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast! Our glorious leader has returned from his sickly malaise and although he is not quite firing on all cylinders he is at least  semi-coherent.  He has discovered some unusual effects from his illness though and opens up with some interesting observations about how his playing has changed as a result. You may have seen a little bit of controversy over the recent Pink Floyd (take a shot, spray yourself etc.) logo redesign to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Dark Side of the Moon. It is possibly the dumbest story that the guys have discussed but discuss it they do! I wish Debs hadn't left me...Blake weeps for humanity as we dissect some of the comments that the internet has churned up. I'm just going to say that if you are playing the Pink Floyd drinking game, you will want to choose something very low in alcohol...Meanwhile in the Shred Shed, Blake has been recording some heavy sounds with his children and tells us all about his new career as a music mogul. He's also had a new (old) amp day experience and he is a little excited by it as we discover and then the conversation focuses on the Boss Tube Amp Expander as an adjunct to our conversation on attenuators.  Do you like tone knobs on your guitars? Are they essential?  The guys debate this important subject via the medium of Spice analysis, and there is no spraying! Blake and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast - I'm sure someone is missing here...Brian is feeling a little under the weather (to put it mildly) so Blake and Richard try and persevere whilst hoping the Indiana goat overlord recovers quickly. There will be much silliness. There will also be some sadness and very raw emotions as the guys react to the news that Jeff Beck passed away just hours prior to recording this show.  Richard may say a few minor swears too - fair warning issued.  Blake has got a new Amp in a Pedal and he is blown away by it, and tells us all about it in glorious detail.  Somehow this turns into a conversation about back massages and soldering irons. Richard has noticed a raise in the price of a guitar he purchased for someone and it has excited him - has he finally bought something that will go up in value ?  Richard has overdosed on UAP videos and it mixed with the hallucinations his illness brought on and tells us about it before salivating over the new Fender gold foil pickup equipped guitars.  He also comes up with a new Mandela effect suggestion and blows his own mind. It wasn't difficult. Then the guys chat about Henning's Gear Island and speculate on what's next... Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!Despite thinking it was a minor tickle, Richard has been suffering with weeks of illness, and the guys experiment with recording the podcast's video - and with mixed results. How much banana is required to power a distortion pedal? This crucial question is at the forefront of the guy's minds - well, kinda.Do you practice standing up or sitting? Brian wonders how he could possibly swing a Stratocaster around his neck from a seated position and there is some debate about optimal strap displacement theory. There is also a question about what happens when you take long breaks from guitar playing and some interesting points from experience are discussed. Brian has a requirement for a custom shaped thumb-pick and Richard and he came up with an alternative solution that may or may not (definitely may not) change the world as we know it.  Have you ever performed extreme winter sports while being dressed in a foolish costume? Blake has, and you are not going to want to miss this story. Do you use an attenuator or a master volume pedal in your rig? Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!Richard has experienced a moment of design joy over the past holiday period which involved the "Exploding Clocks" design of the Wampler Tumnus pedal and an interaction with the person who inspired the art originally some 30+ years ago. The discussion of this leads to conversation about skateboarding, BMX'ing, and bikes in general...before Richard receives a well deserved spraying. Blake has to buy the Boss SL-2 Slicer before he buys the RE-202- well according to Richard anyways - and Brian makes a shocking closet based revelation before telling us about his upcoming new guitar day. Is it the much discussed Brent Paisley special Edition Telecaster? You're just gonna have to listen to the show to find out!Brian is about to go and hang out at a major retailer's HQ for a couple of days and tells us about the meticulous preparations that go into such an affair. Blake and Richard reveal some shocking tap tempo secrets. Brian has also been seduced by the Dark side of the moon...or has he?? Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast! This week the guys travel through time from 2022 to 2023 to talk about things they may be doing a weeks time back in January 2023. Confused yet? You will be soon if not already...and this leads to some SRV based revelations that shake Brian to his very core. Then Brian and Blake indulge in what can only be described as a utter buffoonery of the highest order and Richard is not impressed. Richard has taken delivery of a large quantity of American lunar based snackery and is impressed with what he has discovered. His waistline is not. Richard had a moment of synchronicity but it is tinged with much sadness as it involved the death of one of his favorite artists. Keep it light Richard, for heaven's sake. Oh actually - no need - Brian will treat it with the reverence it deserves. Richard has got hold of some "Stomptraps" to play with and he digs them so plugs away like a good 'un whilst Blake has been destroying pedals with flames and the guys discuss some unique design features of Behringer pedals. How much is the most you would ever pay for an amp? Brian has found a fairly pricey one on Reverb and the guys discuss. Ho, Ho, Ho, Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new extra-festive* episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!Public Announcement - we are having a week off for Christmas next week so there won't be a live episode - back in January! Hope you have a great holiday and we will see you in the New Year! Blake has been talking for hours on end and there are some genuine fears his sanity has crumbled. There is talk about the music business and this causes Blake to start back with Freebird. Richard has been playing with Chat GPT, an AI sandbox that has amazing powers, if he had any brains he'd be using it to generate these podcast descriptions. But he doesn't. However he and Brian do believe this is the dawning of a new era for the internet. There are poems, there are songs, 'tis the season (for idiocy) !Brian has been on a Mandela effect trip and the results are simultaneously baffling, worrying, and delicious. Meanwhile Richard has had a business idea thats guaranteed to make everybody involved very wealthy. In the gear world there has been a rather special boost pedal released by the lovely folk at JHS and we look a little into the rare component and the circuit that makes this so unique. Theres a bunch of other guitar and pedal talk too. Should probably mention that. *No guarantees are made about the festive nature of this podcast. Bah Humbug. Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!Brian has been playing with some gain pedals and has come up with an idea for a new gain pedal that has inspired him so he chews the idea over with Blake and Richard. This leads to the inevitable naming conversation and Brian reveals some industry secrets...maybe. The guys also look at different picking techniques and talk about expensive plectrums and the amazing plectrum stamping machine.Wampler recently released a couple of new budget pedals, the Collective series, and there has been some debate about where and how the Triumph and Phenom were made - so we break it down and tell you how we made these $99 pedals without giving money away...somehow it involves the backside of the moon. Blake has been reading about a disturbing trend in live music and brings it up for the guys to debate via the medium of very poor aquatic puns. Richard points out that "Metaverse" is amongst the words added to the Oxford English Dictionary but is sure this wont stop questions about when we are getting sued by Zuckerberg. Oh. And Freebird. Brian, Blake, and Richard are joined this week by acclaimed producer Warren Huart for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast! This week the guys are joined by Warren Huart who is an LA based English record producer, engineer, musician, composer, cricket fan, and all round super cool dude.  Warren also runs the "Produce like a Pro" YouTube channel which is one of the internet's largest repositories of professional and home studio recording instructional material - and he is also a damn fine guitarist as you will hear. Warren takes us through his early influences creatively and musically and there is some mention of prog rock. Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast! As this text is being written Wampler are but moments away from releasing their first two pedals from a new Budget line, The Collective, and it is going to raise a few happy eyebrows before opening several wallets...so the guys naturally spend about 0.00001% of the episode marketing this fact and 99.99999% clowning around.Richard bought his daughter a new guitar and has become a fan of EMG active pickups so tells us all about his journey with these hot sounding pups.  Brian says he doesn't need to go out for active pickups when he can make better ones at home.  Richard confesses to date related shenanigans.A friend of the show poses an interesting question about DIY graphics for DIY pedals and Brian and Blake have views.  Paul Reed Smith has been giving some of his views on Tone wood and the guys discuss this whilst Richard give the World Cup goal alerts from one week ago. Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!Brian has invented a time machine and tells all about how it works in an exciting twist of fate and it doesn't get any cleverer as it progresses to Brian practicing his rolling Rs. Meanwhile in England, Richard has received a special package and gives us a live review before telling us a Twitter fuelled anecdote. Blake has been talking to Robert Keeley and he and Brian discuss the podcast they made together. He has also been thinking about guitars with extra strings like the giant spider brained genius he is and tells us of his new GAS situation. Meanwhile, Brian is dreaming of Baritone telecasters, and Richard asks dumb questions (again) before broaching the delicate subject of strap locks with Brian. What's the most you would pay for a Boss DS-1?  Kurt Cobain's DS-1 sold for a shockingly high amount of money and the guys ponder about this very question while Richard hatches a cunning plan to taunt Brian with natural pests.  Then we turn to the greatest flatulence based pedal that Brian never released and the guys come up with a few improvements. Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!Blake is making content in a hotel room,  and it has come to pass that Brian is now indeed a Country and Western megastar. He may deny it but he has played at the legendary Bluebird cafe in Nashville, TN and the guys cannot fail to be impressed. Some heavy names were dropped, and some food talk also occurred. It was also livestreamed on Onlyfans of Electronics, no wait, the Wampler Metaverse, no wait, I forget...Anyhow, Bri gives us a great breakdown of his gig and a little bit of history as he tells us about the amazing acts that graced the stage before him.Eventide have brought out a rather special effects processor, the H90, and the guys cast their opinions over it and its predecessor, the mighty H9.  The guys have also been checking out the new Morley analogue flyrig board and thats definitely turned a few heads. But not Ranger Brian's. Richard has also been on the Fret Talk pedalboard so tells us a bit about that and why he love analog knobs. Spray yourself immediately! Brian has bought a new guitar and he tells us all about it despite the faux protestations from the crew - and it may surprise you. Well at least 50% of it will. It turns out the guys all have the same piece of gear and they all love it and talk about it in glowing terms.  There is almost total agreement here, its a bit disturbing.Peanut butter cheesecake, Pitchshifting mistakes, Forehead presence, The Shaggs Mk2, Free market research, You are a cheap no name wall wart...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!We are on Patreon now too!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)Awesome Merch and DIY mods:https://modyourownpedal.com/collections/booksFind us at:https://www.wamplerpedals.com/https://www.instagram.com/WamplerPedals/https://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdVrg4Wl3vjIxonABn6RfWwContact us at: podcast@wamplerpedals.comSupport the show
Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!Brian makes an unexpected confession as we open up this weeks episode but makes up for it with some brilliant falsetto singing before making various biscuity accusations. This leads on to a conversation about fine beverages and cultural differences.Soldano just released a new pedal and the guys talk about it - Richard is a big fan and he talks to Brian about it and gets a lesson about the origins of the original Wampler  SLOstortion pedal. Brian also gives out some exclusive pedal modding tips and then mentally redesigns a bunch of Apple products while Blake dreams of refrigeration. The guys were pleasantly surprised by a mysterious listener email and it leads down a weird and wonderful whimsical journey under the sea. Meanwhile, Brian reads a book and Richard has ordered a new pedal and is very excited about its ability to slice and dice.  Biscuit and Gravy talk, Octember, Shoewater, Cracker Barrel, Racist Chicken, Men in Black...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!Support the show

Episode 304: Side note to Brian's "high" anxiety... don't consume sativa. You're more of an Indica guy... You'll have a completely different experience.😉

Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, New York, and maybe Chicago. Those are the exceptions. anti-flag wasn't selling out venues anywhere else. read up on warped tour, they were not profitable

I get kind of insulted sometimes when I'm on reddit and some kid has his guitar laying on the bed hitting it with sticks while turning knobs on his pedals and then talks to everyone like he's a really skilled guitarist. .but I also get that the same kid may be a genius and I'm just being a Mr Burns saying "get off my lawn"
