Description

Modern life is a paradox - and we’re here to talk about it. Consciously Unconscious blends laugh-out-loud banter with deep dives into the human experience. Each episode, hosts Jessa and Amanda navigate the tension between self-awareness and the unpredictability of life, unpacking everything from philosophical rabbit holes to modern cultural commentary with a mix of wit, wisdom, and humor. With a Beverage of the Week in hand, we question everything - society, relationships, self-expression, and the illusions we live by, while keeping it all refreshingly real.

This week, we’re diving deep into the emotional underworld by exploring the frequency of emotions and how feelings like anger, shame, and pride hold powerful potential when acknowledged consciously. Inspired by the emotional frequency scale by David Hawkins, we unpack how emotions are energetic states that can either contract or expand us and how learning to alchemize them can lead to profound personal growth. We reflect on the concept of sacred anger, how it can be a gateway to healing rather than something to suppress and talk about the fine line between willingness and capability when it comes to emotional expression and interpersonal dynamics. This is one of our deeper episodes, full of philosophical and spiritual reflections, with the intention of helping you feel more, judge less, and transmute what hurts into what heals.Instagram https://www.instagram.com/consciouslyunconsciouspod/TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@consciouslyunconsciousFollow Amanda: https://www.instagram.com/justmandssFollow Jessa: https://www.instagram.com/jessafragnoli/Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/GrlAcXT-NUUListen on Apple https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/consciously-unconscious/id1772896754Listen on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/show/0NFGJjmYdyohe3761uHfSw?si=2503003bfa5d4ad6
This week, we’re just two girls on a mic, catching up on life and spiraling into random corners of our brains. From wondering if birds are government drones to rebranding our future grandma names, questioning the pyramids, and name-dropping Joe Dispenza just enough to keep it conscious…we’re embracing the beauty of aimless banter. There’s nothing wildly profound here; just laughter, curiosity, and conversations that feel like a sleepover in audio form. Think of this as your breather before we get deep next week with a very philosophical episode. Until then, enjoy this brain smoothie of chaos, nostalgia, and bird conspiracies.Instagram https://www.instagram.com/consciouslyunconsciouspod/Tik Tok https://www.tiktok.com/@consciouslyunconsciousWatch on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@ConsciouslyUnconsciousPodFollow Amanda: https://www.instagram.com/justmandssFollow Jessa: https://www.instagram.com/jessafragnoli/
Spring has finally arrived in Denver, and we’re soaking up the sun while diving into a conversation about movement; how it heals, expresses, and connects us to our most intuitive selves. But first, we banter about Mercury in retrograde and quote every strange viral sound clip and movie under the sun.We explore intuitive movement, why humans move the way we do, and how tuning into the body’s natural rhythms unlocks healing, expression, and play. From performance and athletics to body image and self-connection, we reflect on our own journeys with movement as a tool for growth. Plus, in our new “Embrace or Erase” segment, we break down different movement trends and whether we’re into them or over them.Whether you move for joy, strength, or simply to feel more alive, this episode is a reminder to embrace movement as a way to experience life more fully.Jessa Teaches a 30 Minute Morning Movement Flow on our YouTube https://youtu.be/H8DhkA7ZQ3cInstagram https://www.instagram.com/consciouslyunconsciouspod/Tik Tok https://www.tiktok.com/@consciouslyunconsciousWatch on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@ConsciouslyUnconsciousPodFollow Amanda: https://www.instagram.com/justmandss/Follow Jessa: https://www.instagram.com/jessafragnoli/
We’re catching up on life, love, and Las Vegas before diving into the mystical world of numerology. Jessa spills on her love life, Amanda recaps her trip to Vegas, and then we get into the magic of Numerology - because, apparently, math can be sexy. Jessa reads Amanda’s life and year path numbers, breaking down the archetypes of 1-9 and how numbers show up in your life as a self-realization tool. We also get into the Fibonacci sequence, the hidden language of the universe, and Jessa’s reconciliation with Pythagoras after years of hating math. Whether you’re a numbers nerd or a skeptic, lean in and see how these symbols might just reveal more about you than you think.Instagram https://www.instagram.com/consciouslyunconsciouspod/Tik Tok https://www.tiktok.com/@consciouslyunconsciousWatch on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@ConsciouslyUnconsciousPod
Language is one of the greatest tools we have, but also one of our biggest limitations. In this episode, we unravel the magic and mystery of words and language - how they shape our reality, connect us and yet.. still fall short of truly expressing the depth of human experience. Can you ever fully describe love? Grief? A spiritual awakening? We explore everything from linguistics and Amanda's love letters she mailed to Lucas, to the myth that Jessa believes is Hellen Keller. Plus, we put language to the test in a Beverage of the Week experiment… can Amanda find the perfect words to capture what she’s tasting? Tune in as we navigate the spoken and the unspeakable. In this casual (but surprisingly deep) bonus episode, we’re riding the wave of excitement from being featured on Apple Podcasts’ Browse page and welcoming all our new listeners! We kick things off like a true girl chat: dream weddings, our unfiltered thoughts on nose jobs and gender reveals, and random life hacks like mouth tape and Nadi Shodhana breathwork. But don’t worry, we take a sharp left turn as always and end up diving into quantum jumping, fate vs. free will, and the big questions about life’s deepest truths. It’s a little bit of everything, and somehow it all makes sense. Come for banter, stay for existentialism. In this episode, we dive deep into all things divine femininity, girlhood, and sisterhood, exploring what it really means to be a woman beyond the surface. We talk about the essence of womanhood - the struggles, the triumphs, and the beautiful, creative tapestry woven in between. From rewilding and reconnecting to our intuition, to healing sisterhood & mother wounds and unblocking sacral chakra energy, we share our own raw experiences and reflect on what it means to take up space in our modern society as women and how to move beyond societal expectations of what femininity means. In honor of Women’s History Month, we both challenge and support modern feminism. Let this be your reminder to live unapologetically in your truth, embrace your feminine power, and keep speaking up.Instagram https://www.instagram.com/consciouslyunconsciouspod/Tik Tok https://www.tiktok.com/@consciouslyunconsciousWatch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/y-YweTNH68Y?si=fZSdRey6SqXN5OszResources Mentioned: Frida KahloAda Coleman's "Hanky Panky"The Art of SeductionWomen who run with the wolves"The Artist's Way" Julia Cameron Be Here Now
Ever feel like boredom is a thing of the past? In this episode, we dive into The Lost Art of Being Bored…why stillness feels so uncomfortable, how our brains are hooked on dopamine, and what happens when we stop filling every moment with noise. Jessa opens the episode by sharing the unexpected life lessons from raising two mice for a high school science project (yes, really), while Amanda shares her own experience with a micro dopamine detox from cutting coffee. Together, we unpack how boredom might just be the secret to actually knowing yourself. Because in a world of endless distraction and stimulation, maybe doing nothing is the most radical thing you can do.Instagram https://www.instagram.com/consciouslyunconsciouspod/Tik Tok https://www.tiktok.com/@consciouslyunconsciousWatch on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@ConsciouslyUnconsciousPodFollow Amanda: https://www.instagram.com/justmandss/?hl=enFollow Jessa: https://www.instagram.com/jessafragnoli/Resources Mentioned: Michael Singer Podcast Dopamine Detox Article Sitting or Shocking Study Waking Up App
In this episode, we unravel the spectacle of fame...how we’ve gone from admiring true artists to idolizing anyone with good PR. We dissect the parasocial obsession of loving people we don’t actually know, the illusion that money solves everything (spoiler: it doesn’t), and the eerie reality that the entertainment industry might just be a business of selling souls.Of course, we also take a moment to roast nepotism babies and casually make our case for why we deserve global recognition. If the world’s going to worship personalities, we might as well throw our names in the ring. Winter isn’t just a season…it’s a whole vibe shift. While Americans tend to retreat, slow down, and hibernate with seasonal depression as their co-pilot, other cultures lean into the cold with festivals, rituals, and practices that honor the season. In this episode, we talk about the intuitive energy of winter and how it naturally invites us to rest, reflect, and turn inward, and why fighting against that might actually be what’s making us miserable. We also explore how different parts of the world experience winter, from Scandinavian hygge culture to places that get zero daylight. Plus, we get into wild science experiments trying to recreate bear hibernation for humans, the power of controlled cold exposure and the ways winter shapes our psychology. And, of course, we catch up on the Super Bowl, the conspiracies around Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance. Also, this episode was entirely Amanda’s idea because she hasn’t stopped talking about the book Wintering for six weeks straight. Is living alone the ultimate path to self-discovery, or is cohabiting the real test of growth? This week, we dive into the psychology of living solo versus sharing your space. Jessa reminisces on how living alone shaped her coming-of-age journey (and forced her to face her shadow self), while Amanda gives us a peek into the chaos and comfort of cohabiting with a husband and kids. We get into why your living space is an external reflection of who you are, why people in their 20s and 30s should embrace the magic of solitude, and how astrocartography might just hold the key to where you actually belong. Plus, Jessa’s got a special visitor coming to Colorado, and we unpack what’s on the horizon for both of us. Tune in for thoughts, and tangents on what it really means to build a home. This week, Amanda takes the spotlight as we dive into her journey to motherhood. From conceiving Lennox at a Holiday Inn (iconic) to advocating for herself during a unwanted C-section, Amanda opens up about the raw, real, and unexpectedly funny moments of becoming a mom at 22. We explore how motherhood has shaped her identity, what it’s like to navigate life with two boys at 27, and the lessons she’s learned along the way - all while childless Jessa listens in awe (and slight fear). Of course, we can’t help but roast Amanda for having the smoothest, most ethereal pregnancies ever, as she floated through motherhood like some kind of glowing goddess…. seriously, how? Whether you’re a parent, aspiring parent, or firmly in the “not yet” camp, this episode offers insight, laughter, and a deeper appreciation for the wild ride that is motherhood. P.s. today is Amanda’s bday, go show her some love. This week, we’re trading tequila shots for a sober second to ask: can you really party consciously? From the cultural obsession with alcohol to its influence on our social identities, we’re diving deep into why people drink, how it’s been normalized (despite being one of the most dangerous substances out there), and how to align your relationship with substances to reflect who you actually are. Jessa shares a story about her wild (but completely sober) ecstatic dance experience in Thailand, while Amanda explains her version of Dry January… Damp January (yes, it’s a thing). Whether you’re questioning your go-to party habits or just curious about what conscious partying could look like, this episode challenges you to question the reasons you pick up substances. Are we consuming for genuine connection, or are we just afraid to show up as our true selves? Cheers to a conversation that might just change the way you party. In this episode, Jess spills the tea on her solo travel diaries, sharing stories from over 35 countries that cracked her wide open; self-discovery, personal growth, and a whole lot of epic life lessons included. From backpacking through Patagonia (where she spent 24 hours alone in the wilderness questioning all her life choices) to exploring Asia, Europe, Africa, Sri Lanka, and beyond, she breaks down how travel can challenge you, heal you, and connect you to the world in ways you never expected. But heads up - travel won’t fix you or fill some soul-sized void. It’s just one of the greatest invitations to experience life fully, for its own sake. Tune in for heart-opening moments, and a reminder that the real adventure isn’t just about where you go, it’s how you grow. New year, new…chart? This week, we’re diving headfirst into Human Design as Amanda breaks down Jessa’s chart and explains how this self-discovery tool can be your personal cheat code for living a more balanced, productive, and aligned life.We get into the nitty-gritty of energy types; Amanda’s a Projector, Jessa’s a Generator (aka the ultimate match for bouncing ideas and vibes off each other) and we explore how understanding your unique design can shift the way you make decisions, avoid burnout, and work with your natural flow instead of against it.Whether you’re all-in on the woo or think astrological charts sound like cosmic bs, the placebo effect is very real, and hey, if it makes you more self-aware and intentional, that’s a win in our book. This week, we’re spiraling…in the best way possible. As we enter 2025, we dive deep into the idea that everything exists in cycles: history, nature, your biology, and beyond. From the repetitive patterns of the universe to the ones that sneak into our personal lives, we ask: is it possible to live outside of cycles? Do they always complete themselves? We’re also spilling on our New Year’s resolutions (spoiler: more trust, less control, and a whole lot of spontaneity), recapping Amanda meeting Jessa’s parents, and getting jazzed about NYE. Laugh, reflect, and maybe even trust the process a little more with us this week. It’s a fresh start, but like we now know, what goes around comes around. In this episode, we’re getting existential (again) and asking the age-old question: is the grass really greener, or are we just perpetually stuck thinking the next thing will finally make us happy? Spoiler: happiness isn’t hiding behind a promotion, a soulmate, or a trip across the world—it’s right here in the messy, chaotic, but beautiful now. Jessa kicks things off by breaking down the ego—what it is, how it works, and YES why it’s  convincing us that happiness is somewhere else, but why it’s useful to participate. We explore how this mindset is so common in your 20s (and let’s be real, your 30s, 40s, and beyond) as we grapple with career choices, relationships, and the pressure to figure it all out. We unpack why society keeps us stuck in “next thing” thinking and dive into tools and philosophies from Ram Dass, Eckhart Tolle, and The Defining Decade to help ground us in the present. And hey, sometimes you do need to wander down the street and stand on someone else’s lawn …. not to claim it as your own, but to experience it for what it is and realize that your grass is perfectly lovely, if only you’d take the time to water it. To wrap it up, Amanda breaks down how perception is completely relative…..other people’s opinions of you? Just their own projections. If you’ve ever felt stuck in the cycle of comparison, self-doubt, or future-focused anxiety, this episode is for you. Friendships: the underrated love story society keeps skipping over. In this episode, we’re shining a light on why friendships deserve way more hype… and why they might just be the purest form of love. Amanda gets real about the art of making friends as an adult, while Jessa spills stories about forming connections while traveling & how the depth of your friendships is basically a mirror for your relationship with yourself. Let’s be honest: healing your relationship with yourself is the ultimate cheat code to better relationships with everyone else- and the world around you. So, why do we keep prioritizing romantic relationships? And how can we show our friendships the love they deserve? Grab a corpse reviver , your bestie, and hit play. This week, we’re barely easing into the holiday madness with a mix of pure chaos and a few hard truths. Amanda kicks things off by potentially being pregnant (will have to update next ep?), while Jessa recounts a solo edible-fueled zoo trip that went as tumultuously as you’d expect. Our Friendsgiving recap is one for the books with gratitude shouting matches, potluck throwdowns, and a noise complaint from a little someone that nearly ended in eviction (honestly worth it).  Quick pivot to Black Friday, where Jessa’s questionable impulse purchase - a sauna for her .... kitchen .... takes center stage. But beneath the laughs, we dig into how consumerism has hijacked the holidays. Why does showing love have to come with a price tag? And is there a way to escape the capitalist holiday trap? To round things out, Jessa shares her traumatic late discovery that Santa isn’t real (at 14, no less). A little holiday therapy, a lot of laughs, this one’s got it all.
