Description

Formerly Almost Adulting… but let’s call it what it always was.

Welcome to DADDY ISSUES with Violet Benson.

I brought the original name back. Because I am the OG Daddy Issues - the brand that started 12 years ago and turned a meme page into a movement. The name you've always known me by. So we’re done pretending.

This podcast WILL change you... or at least your standards.

We talk dating disasters, attachment styles, adulting, evolving past your patterns, confidence comebacks, mental health spirals, breakups, friendships, and how to stop chasing, settling, and playing small. Tough love backed by real psychology.

I’m Violet Benson - Comedian, Daddy Issues meme queen, ex-accountant, soon-to-be-author, and your unfiltered Russian big sister. I’ll say what your therapist is thinking but won’t text you at 11PM.

Welcome home.

New episodes every Thursday.

This isn’t Almost Adulting anymore.

It’s Daddy Issues.

She talks self-worth, standards, intuition, softness, confidence, and knowing when to walk away. Read it and weep, besties, because Patti is not here to sugarcoat a single thing. Stop wasting your time on a boy who only wants you around to boost his ego, fill his schedule, and keep you on standby while he figures himself out. Boys will breadcrumb you, mind game you, and keep you confused. Men make it clear. And we are done accepting less.Today, Patti Stanger returns to the show to talk about how to stop being a placeholder, raise your standards, and actually recognize the difference between a man and a boy. Patti and Violet get into why women give too much too soon, how bad relationship patterns start in childhood, why men know much earlier than they admit, and how to tell when you’re being strung along. They also break down love bombing, gaslighting, red flags, ultimatums, dating with self-respect, and why waiting around is the fastest way to waste your own life.If you’ve ever questioned someone’s intentions, stayed too long, or confused chemistry with commitment, this one is your wake-up call. What to Listen For:07:40 Why do we pick who we pick? 09:20 If you give a man too much of anything 13:43 Dating a boy versus a man 17:53 You want to know what their intentions are 22:37 If you allow yourself to be used 25:25 Is giving an ultimatum a good idea? 29:00 You get the ring when you have self respect 32:08 Why do we give our hearts too quickly? 35:59 Be realistic with your standards 43:06 Love bombers are mostly narcissists 47:48. They say you can’t turn a hoe into a housewife, but we’d like to think otherwise. At some point in our life, whether we are at the height of our career or living our best single lives, we all want to find that one person we can spend the rest of our life with, right? That one true love we all grew up hoping to find one day. I mean, at the very least, who doesn’t want to be with the best partner and have the best s*x at the drop of a dime?Besties, today we are joined by Hannah Berner! Hannah is the host of two extremely successful podcasts Giggly Squad and Berner Phone, a standup comedian, reality TV star, and now here with us on Almost Adulting! Today Violet and Hannah waste no time getting into things beginning with Violet calling out Hannah for not inviting her to her wedding! Hannah then goes into detail about her transition from hoe life to wife life, what it’s like dating (then marrying) an older guy, falling in love with someone you least expect to fall in love with, and why you should look for a partner that takes ugly photos of you. The two superstars also talk about the harsh realities of their professions and why checking in with yourself mentally is SO important. Daddy Issues starts now. This week, Violet Benson officially launches her podcast under the name that built her brand. After 12 years of building the Daddy Issues community, Violet shares the moment that pushed her to reclaim the name, protect what she created, and step fully back into the identity that started it all. Then Violet delivers a Russian big sister pep talk. She breaks down why so many women give girlfriend energy to men who can’t even text back, how “potential” keeps you stuck in the wrong relationships, and why confusion in dating usually means one thing: he’s not choosing you.She talks confidence, boundaries, self-worth, and the mindset shift that stops you from auditioning for men who were never going to pick you in the first place. If you’ve been romanticizing someone who gives you nothing, this episode is your reminder. You are the prize.TIMESTAMPS:00:13 - Welcome to Daddy Issues: Violet announces the new podcast name00:30 - Why Violet is reclaiming the Daddy Issues brand02:38 - The moment that forced Violet to protect her brand27:41 - The real episode begins: If he's confusing you, he's not choosing you. See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
You’re not crazy. You’re anxious. This week on Almost Adulting, Violet sits down with Mel Robbins to unpack high-functioning anxiety in love — why women attach fast, date potential, ignore red flags, and stay in relationships where they can’t ask for what they need. Mel breaks down the 5 Second Rule, how to stop spiraling, time blindness, and the worst thing you can do when anxiety hits. They talk separation anxiety, loving someone who’s wrong for you, being right vs. being connected, and the obvious signs he just doesn’t like you.If you’re successful but secretly overthinking everything in dating — this one will hit.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
After a month-and-a-half break and a big network move, your Russian big sister Violet Benson is back – and she’s starting 2026 the only way she knows how: with tough love.Violet breaks down the four shifts that changed her life – and can change yours too.• setting real boundaries (and holding the door open when someone wants to leave) • radical self-awareness (aka stop lying to yourself) • knowing exactly who you are • and changing your perspective so you stop feeling like the victim in your own storyShe then breaks down why we romanticize the wrong people, the truth about “twin flames,” how you’ve been quietly self-sabotaging your love life, forgiving without apologies, and learning that sometimes the love story you’re chasing isn’t about another person – it’s about yourself.Today is the day you take your power back and start gaining confidence again after losing yourself in love. This episode is your reset.Don’t forget to leave a 5-star review when you’re done listening.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Def agree with the dude that says that your sexual partner should care about your climax. As a rule. If you don't want the other person to make you cum, seems like the exception. So, the assumption should be that you also want to cum. I am a straight woman btw. I do not think you have to demand a person to give you pleasure. That is a turn off. Don't care about gender or orientation. They should want to make you cum. I absolutely agree with the guy on this.
