As the release date for Only the Dead quickly approaches, Danger Close listeners get a special early listen to the prologue and first two chapters, read by Ray Porter. You can pre-order the audiobook now.
About Only the Dead:
In 1980, a freshman congressman was gunned down in Rhode Island, sending shockwaves through Washington that are still reverberating over four decades later.
Now, with the world on the brink of war and a weakened United States facing rampant inflation, political division, and shocking assassinations, a secret cabal of global elites is ready to assume control. And with the world’s most dangerous man locked in solitary confinement, the conspirators believe the final obstacle to complete domination has been eliminated. They’re wrong.
From the firms of Wall Street to the corridors of power in Washington, DC, and Moscow, secrets from the past have the uncanny ability to rise to the surface in the present.
With the odds stacked against him, James Reece is on a mission generations in the making. Unfortunately for his enemies, the former SEAL is not concerned with odds. He is on the warpath. And when James Reece picks up his tomahawk and sniper rifle, no one is out of range.

Join the Mises Caucus in the Libertarian Party! Project Decentralized Revolution is literally what these guys are talking about.
I am constantly impressed by your performance. Thank you for your hard work! Damascus Hunting Knife
is Alice's caretaker in the most recent (FANTASTIC!) novel an homage to Hiram Yeager of Clive Cussler's NUMA series by chance?
👍
I could listen to you guys go back and forth all day.
Such a shame how this guy turned out.
Thank you Katie!
Not a great interview. He comes off as a bit arrogant, but his book is awesome. Do recommend reading it.
Maybe it's my bias, but I can't trust a word that comes out of these guys' mouths when it comes to foreign affairs. whether it's Mine Baker, this guy, or the previous spy Carr interviewed. They all tow the same line. They all sound the same and it's strange.
We need agood person for POTUS such as Tulsi Gabbard.
Great analysis re Afghanistan by Sebastian Junger. Jack your interview skills/analysis etc make your podcast so good!!
Great to hear you guys discuss this topic. It certainly gives me a new perspective on "freedom". I loved Tribe, which gave me a greater understanding of the troubles our veterans now face.
