Description
I’m breaking bread with big-name friends—old and new—for a delicious meal and candid convos that can only happen over a glass of wine. We're getting out of the studio and into my favorite restaurants across Los Angeles and New York City with people like Julie Bowen, Kristen Bell, Fred Armisen, Jesse Williams, Niecy Nash-Betts, and so many more. I know, a celebrity-interview podcast, who’s doing that? No one. Which is why I needed to.
We’ll get vulnerable about everything from relationships and family history, to mental health and imposter syndrome. We’ll laugh about my attempted modeling career and being starstruck by Beyoncé. Look, am I saying a chocolate soufflé is going to get me to reveal all my secrets? Yeah. Yeah, I am. So, join me… dinner’s on me.
Dinner’s on Me is a production of Sony Music Entertainment and A Kid Named Beckett Productions.

This week, it's all things “Cocaine Bear," as I revisit interviews with Elizabeth Banks, who directed the film, and my co-star Margo Martindale.
First up, Liz meets me at one of our favorite spots in Sherman Oaks, Petit Trois. We discuss her early career, learning from the likes of Steven Spielberg, and what it was like to sit in the director's chair for the first time in “Pitch Perfect 2.”
Then, the iconic Margo Martindale meets me at Marea in New York City. I’ll talk to Margo about her hilarious childhood hobbies, being Esteemed Character Actress Margo Martindale on “Bojack Horseman”... and, of course, her amazing stunts on “Cocaine Bear.”

Over the course of the show, I’ve been able to share some of my personal life with you – from meeting Justin and our decision to get married, to parenting our two sons. It means a lot to me that we can have those conversations especially at a time when the rights of queer people, especially in the trans community, are under attack.
It’s been so special to have these conversations with my guests as well.
First up, “Star Trek” star Zachary Quinto. Over salads at American Bar in the West Village, we discuss his decision to come out publicly and our fun romps around Silver Lake gay bars in our 20s.
Then, we have podcast host, haircare entrepreneur and “Queer Eye” star Jonathan Van Ness. Jonathan tells me what it’s like to live in Texas as a queer person, their journey to discovering their nonbinary identity and why a guinea pig named Peanut is causing a stir in some libraries.

I feel so lucky because in the first season of my podcast, my guests have been incredibly vulnerable and we’ve covered a lot of ground in terms of our lives and careers. But I want to dig a little bit into a theme that’s come up with quite a few guests and that’s close to my heart – parenting. I became a parent for the first time in 2020 and it’s all still very new to me. Having these conversations on the show with parents and soon-to-be parents has been really special for me. In this episode, you’ll hear some of my favorite moments talking about parenthood with “Orange is The New Black” star Uzo Aduba, Busy Philipps of “Girls5Eva” and “Taste the Nation’s” Padma Lakshmi.

I’m revisiting two dinners with people I absolutely adore who have been mainstays on network television for roughly a decade: Jim Parsons of “The Big Bang Theory” and Tracee Ellis Ross of “Black-ish.”
First up… star of stage and screen Jim Parsons joins me at Don Angie in NYC's West Village. Over some gorgeous lasagna, we discuss queer visibility in television and film, "The Big Bang Theory" pilot that never was and why "Spoiler Alert" is such a special film.
Also… actor and fashion icon Tracee Ellis Ross chats with me over tacos and nachos at The Roof, a restaurant at the top of The West Hollywood EDITION. We dish about her final days of "Black-ish," her mother’s iconic 75th birthday, and who makes her starstruck.

Through the end of the year, we’re going to revisit some of my favorite moments on the show.
Starting off with my interviews with my “Modern Family” family members...First up... My on-screen sister and dear friend Julie Bowen joins me at Republique in Los Angeles during a torrential rainstorm to nibble on pastries and kimchi fried rice and debrief on the end of “Modern Family” and how our lives changed during that time. I felt so comfortable with Julie that it was a no-brainer to have her be the first to join me on this podcasting adventure.
Also, “Modern Family” star Sarah Hyland joins me at Gracias Madre in West Hollywood. Over chips & guac, we dive into her healthcare struggles during the show’s run, her love story with former “The Bachelorette” contestant Wells Adams and her hilarious stories of growing up in New York City.

🙂 absolutely delighted to have found this podcast, what a wonderful idea to have created the simple & genuine format of sharing a meal & conversation with those in 'the business of show', to hear these talented people share their honesty, openess, struggles, vulnerabilities, life stories, loves, losses, tumult, tragedies, courage & triumphs is astonishing & life affirming, & a testament to their, & your, decency, humanity & artistry 🫂
Love me some Tracee Ellis Ross. Nice to hear a person during their everyday life, it humanizes them. And she seems to like food like I like food, both greedy...lol.
