On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson concludes his inspiring conversation with Victor Marx and his wife, Eileen, co-founders of All Things Possible Ministries. According to Victor, the world needs men to answer the call to be filled with God’s spirit and be willing to fight mightily against the kingdom of darkness, and to be more like Jesus, who is the greatest example of the “dangerous gentleman!” Proverbs 3:25-26 says, “Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.”
According to Victor Marx, co-founder of All Things Possible Ministries, the biggest threat to America is not terrorism, it’s the lack of fathers. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson talks with Victor about his latest book, The Dangerous Gentleman. They also discuss the trauma Victor faced as a young boy, and how growing up without a loving father figure affected his life. You’ll hear unbelievable stories of redemption, rescue and resilience that only the Lord could orchestrate. Matthew 19:26 says, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Hear more of all that the Lord has done through Victor and his wife, Eileen.
According to Kim Meeder, “True and authentic hope is only fully realized, not when we keep it for ourselves, but when we imitate Jesus Christ and give it away. That's when hope becomes mature.” On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson concludes his inspiring interview with Troy and Kim Meeder of Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch. Be encouraged as Kim shares about the unique personalities of horses, and how attuned they can be to a child in need and bring comfort.
Many children with physical and emotional scars have a profound connection with horses that have been through similar hardships. For years, Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch has been a refuge for both broken horses and broken children. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson continues his heartfelt discussion with Troy and Kim Meeder. They discuss the impact Kim's grandmother had in her life, as well as stories of the children who have come to their ranch, and how the Lord worked through Troy and Kim’s ministry.
On today’s classic edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson interviews Troy and Kim Meeder. They discuss Kim’s book, Bridge Called Hope, and the origin of their ministry, Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch, bringing hope and healing to all they encounter. Romans 15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Teaching your children the truth about sex might seem a bit scary, but if you don't do it, who will? Television? Movies? The public school system? Today on Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson concludes his insightful discussion with Dr. Kevin Leman and Kathy Flores Bell about their book, A Chicken’s Guide to Talking Turkey with Your Kids About Sex. You’ll not only learn how to give your children the truth and guidance they need about the serious subject of sex, but you may even deepen your relationship with them as well.
As a parent you may have experienced an overwhelming sense of panic when you realize it’s time to have that talk about the “birds and the bees” with your kids. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson talks with Christian psychologist, author and speaker, Dr. Kevin Leman, and co-founder of Team Lizzie Bell, Kathy Flores Bell, about the book they co-authored entitled, A Chicken’s Guide to Talking Turkey with Your Kids About Sex. As Christians living in this modern culture, we must be bold and refuse to keep our beliefs silent. On this classic Family Talk broadcast, Dr. Dobson sits down with law professor and radio journalist, Hugh Hewitt. Professor Hewitt talks about his book, The Embarrassed Believer, and why so many Christ followers are afraid to live out or share their faith publicly. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
On today’s edition of Family Talk, Gary Bauer concludes his sobering discussion with John Stemberger, president of Liberty Counsel Action, about the dysfunctional state of our society. Despite all the chaos and what appears to be hopelessness in our lives, Gary and John point out the positive and brilliant light they see rising up from God’s people within our culture today. John 12:46 says, “I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.” Join in the fight! According to Gary and John, “We must be good stewards of our Christian citizenship and not waste the valuable influence we have!”
According to Gary Bauer, senior vice president of public policy at the James Dobson Family Institute, “We are living in a culture that is all too often hostile to faith, family, and freedom!” Never before have we found the family unit more threatened and attacked! Today on Family Talk, Gary discusses the current state of America with John Stemberger, president of Liberty Counsel Action. Though we have faltered as a country and now risk losing it all, we can come together to fight for all that we hold dear. Isaiah 6:8 says, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Be encouraged as Gary and John share their vision and challenge us to never give up, and fight for our religious freedoms, the sanctity of human life and the family!
No one wants to experience great loss or tragedy. Instead of trusting God when heartbreak comes, we often question why He is allowing our suffering. Today’s edition of Family Talk will address that pain through a conversation between Dr. James Dobson and his guest, Pastor Lon Solomon. James 1:2-4 says, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” We pray that you will experience the peace only Jesus can bring as Pastor Solomon reminds us that “suffering has a redeeming purpose in God’s plan for our lives.”
Today on Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson concludes his spirit-led discussion with Chaplain Barry Black, author of Make Your Voice Heard in Heaven. They emphasize that we must humble ourselves, repent, and then we can enter God’s throne room with our requests. Discover more as Chaplain Black reminds us, “people who make their voices heard in Heaven are the most influential people on the planet! They can move the arm of God!”
According to U.S. Senate Chaplain Barry Black, prayer is the only thing that people of faith are instructed in Scripture to do constantly. The Bible tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to “pray continually.” Today on Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson talks with Rev. Black, author of Make Your Voice Heard in Heaven: How to Pray with Power, about the access we have to God through prayer and the unfathomable love our Creator has for each one of His children. Chaplain Black explains that prayer is the breath of the soul.
Former First Lady Abigail Adams once said, “Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought for with ardor and attended to with diligence.” On today’s Family Talk broadcast, you will hear the conclusion to Dr. Dobson’s classic interview with author and speaker, Cynthia Tobias. She fields various audience questions about homeschooling vs. public schools, instilling proper motivation through positive reinforcement, and the church’s responsibility in educating children spiritually.
If you have a strong-willed child struggling in school, and your frustration levels are through the roof, you may want to turn up the volume and lean into today’s classic edition of Family Talk. Our host, Dr. James Dobson, and author and speaker, Cynthia Tobias, discuss the myriad of learning styles that exist among children. No matter how hopeless the situation may seem, Cynthia confidently shares that every child can succeed!
On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson concludes his inspirational discussion with former NFL quarterback Jeff Kemp about his book, Facing the Blitz. Jeff describes humility as the key to success, whether it be on the football field, or in his relationships with family and friends. Proverbs 11:2 says, “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.” Hear more about the success we can have if we will focus more on investing in others rather than living only for ourselves.
The entire momentum of a football game can be dramatically shifted as the result of an aggressive blitz. Jeff Kemp, a former NFL quarterback, has his own version of John 16:33, “In this world you will have blitzes (tribulation). But take heart! I have overcome the world.” On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson talks with Jeff as he shares how the trials in our lives compare to that of a blitz in football, when it appears that the whole world is out to get you and take you down! Learn of the hope we can have when we turn these adversities or blitzes, as Jeff says, over to Jesus. There is a wonderful opportunity to seek Him as we confront the hardships in our lives.
Though our culture has changed dramatically through the decades, there are certain issues that will always present difficult obstacles in the lives of adolescent girls. Today on Family Talk, you’ll hear Dr. James Dobson speak with his daughter, Danae Dobson, about her book, Let’s Walk the Talk! Girlfriend to Girlfriend on Faith, Friendship and Finding Real Love. She discusses tough subjects such as self-esteem, peer pressure, and dating, as well as sisterly advice on how we can have faith and trust God to navigate us through these rough seas of life. Listen as Danae passes along and articulates some of the best advice she’s been given, “It pays to follow Jesus!”
According to Dr. Owen Strachan, over the past 50-60 years, America has symbolically been breathing a thickening toxic air that has been attempting to choke out the life-giving breath of God’s Word. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Gary Bauer concludes his inspiring and hopeful discussion with Dr. Strachan about the absolute necessity for an infusion of pure oxygen of God’s grace and truth to be breathed into our darkening society once again. 2 Corinthians 3:17 says, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
In our society today, we battle so many dark ideologies such as “wokeism,” the transgender movement, the war on masculinity, and the sanctity of human life. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Gary Bauer talks with Dr. Owen Strachan about how all of this has culminated in the tearing down of the biblical worldview that our nation was founded upon. Yet in the midst of all this chaos, we can take courage in the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Dr. Strachan reminds us of this great hope and introduces the new Dobson Culture Center. Matthew 5:16 says, “…let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
