Kevin starts the episode by breaking down each wild card series. The Rays and Guardians played a historic game 2 as it was the longest scoreless postseason game in history. The Mariners were down a touchdown heading into the 8th inning and then a "rally shoe" over 2,000 miles away sparked the second biggest postseason comeback in history. The Phillies upset the Cardinals and ended the spectacular careers of Molina, Pujols, and possible Wainwright. The Mets after being in first place for over 170 days are now eliminated after the Padres and Joe Musgrove held them in check during a decisive game three.
Kevin then previews the Divisional round. The Guardians youth going up against the Yankees, with World Series pressure on the players and manager. The Mariners will look to keep their magical run alive against their division rival the Astros. The Astros set up their rotation and are looking to make another run to the World Series. In the National League it is an east coast, west coast affair. The Braves and the Phillies will face off in the postseason for the first time since the 1993 NLCS. The Padres will be looking for revenge against the hated Dodgers, after the Dodgers swept them out of the playoffs in 2020.
