Obedience to God can feel risky but is essential.
Mary's act of anointing Jesus was a profound sacrifice.
Public worship can invite criticism, especially for women.

Takeaways:
Jesus calls Himself the Good Shepherd because His care for us is personal, protective, and deeply loving.
Learning to recognize God’s voice happens through relationship, not pressure or perfection.
The cultural picture of shepherding helps us understand how closely Jesus walks with His people.
Abundant life isn’t about comfort or success — it’s about being rooted in Jesus.
The enemy tries to steal joy, hope, and purpose, but staying close to the Shepherd brings clarity and peace.
True transformation happens when we trust Jesus enough to follow His leading.
Our identity is anchored in belonging to Him, not in what we’ve been through.
Walking with Jesus daily helps us discern His voice from the noise around us.
Faith grows as we lean into His guidance with humility and dependence.
Relationship with Jesus is always the foundation — not rules, not performance.

The Freedom Your Soul Is Looking For: John 8:31-59: Daily Devotional, Daily Bible Study
In this episode, Rachael Groll digs into what Jesus meant when He talked about true freedom in John chapter eight. She explains that real freedom isn’t something we earn, inherit, or pretend our way into. It comes from knowing Jesus personally and letting His truth shape the way we think, live, and respond to the world around us. Rachael unpacks the difference between believing in freedom and actually living free, and she gets honest about how pride and spiritual blindness can keep us stuck. This conversation invites listeners to move beyond head knowledge and step into the kind of freedom that only comes from abiding in Jesus.

Takeaways
We often struggle to understand what spiritual freedom means.
True freedom comes from abiding in the word of God.
Freedom is not about obeying the law or human effort.
Knowing Jesus transforms our lives and brings lasting change.
Spiritual blindness can prevent us from experiencing true freedom.
Freedom in Christ is both personal and relational.
Our heritage does not guarantee our freedom in Christ.
Sin can control our lives, but Jesus breaks that chain.
Freedom is an ongoing journey, not a one-time event.
We must value God's voice over all others.

A Holy Pause: John 8:1-11: Daily Devotional, Daily Bible Study
In this episode, Rachael Groll takes a closer look at the moment in John 8 when Jesus bends down and writes in the dirt, showing that it was anything but a random gesture. She walks through some of the main scholarly ideas about what He may have written, but focuses even more on what His silence and His posture say to the accusers standing around Him. Rather than feeding their desire to condemn, Jesus turns the spotlight back on their own hearts. This powerful scene becomes an invitation for all of us to pause, examine our motives, and let His mercy shape the way we see both sin and judgment.

When Truth Confronts Pride: John 7:45-52: Daily Devotional, Daily Bible Study
In this episode, Rachael walks listeners through John chapter seven, focusing on how Jesus models truth, courage, and spiritual discernment in a world full of noise and opposition. She highlights the tension Jesus faced when people questioned His authority, and she draws attention to Nicodemus: one of the few voices willing to slow down, think clearly, and seek truth instead of reacting from pride or fear. Rachael unpacks the danger of making quick judgments, the way God often chooses the overlooked, and the difference between human authority and God’s authority. This episode invites you to examine your assumptions, notice where pride might be getting in the way, and open your heart to the possibility that God wants to show you more than you’ve experienced so far.

This episode is an answer to prayer. I feel my view of God had gotten a touch skewed. I’ve been stressing about where my mom who passed is spending eternity and I’ve been worried about where other family members would go if they died today. I prayed for God to show me who her really is today and I feel this podcast answered it. And I usually only listen to when I’m at work and I have the day off today and just had a feeling I needed to listen today: thank you Rachel and your guest 🙏
very good. I like the fact that Jesus shares his table with everyone, not just the wealthy.
we are not just called to love. if that were the case the world could replace the church. we are to teach, admonish & correct. (in love). this is why there is no church discipline anymore.
