In Chucky's penultimate season 3 episode, everyone is up to speed on all things Chucky, but it's time to check in with the man himself: Charles Lee Ray (the ghost version)! Things are looking pretty dire for everyone as we head into the finale, but we have thoughts! Plus: catching up with Tiffany, ghost presidents, one very bloody elevator and a séance to end all séances. Questions? Comments? Snark? Lube up your industry standard bio-port because we're playing David Cronenberg's eXistenZ (1999) with someone friendly: Vannah Taylor! David Cronenberg's meditation on the dangers of gaming and simulation is the middle entry of an unofficial trilogy. It's also a film that gets real confusing, real fast, so good luck figuring out if we're still in the game! Plus: criticisms of a "bland" game world, praise for Jennifer Jason Leigh, Canadian royalty, comparisons to Serenity, disgusting gristle guns, and Pikul getting his back blown out (several times!) Chucky returns for Part 2 of S03 and while we're unsure what the title "Death Becomes Her" refers to, we like this as a reintroduction. There's a bit of Tilly, some cherry popping and some eye gouging. Plus: is First Lady Charlotte gonna fuck Pryce? Will Henry team up with Caroline? And will Devon or Grant make it to S04? Questions? Try not to wolf out because we're talking about John Landis' classic, An American Werewolf in London (1981). Backpacking along with us is Xero Gravity, who went on a werewolf binge and has recommendations! Up for discussion: Alex's underdeveloped character, urban set pieces, dirty movie theaters, and British rural horror. Plus: a queer reading of David and Jack's relationship, Jewish horror, an unsexy sex scene, and extended tangents about werewolf anatomy. Hear about all of the adaptation problems with H.G. Wells' source material! Gasp at the way the FX were accomplished! Groan whenever Flora is onscreen doing absolutely nothing! Plus, Velma's lesbian erasure, Seth Green's affinity for dating queer women, a controversial pay cut from Freddie Prinze Jr., a potential transphobic read and many, many more fart jokes. Questions? Break out your flute because we're talking about queer director Erlingur Thoroddsen's latest film, The Piper! We like this fine. The story is a bit too familiar, but the technical elements make up for that. Plus: Julian Sands' last role, a gnarly kill scene, and wishing the Harbinger had more to do. when I first watched this film (shown to me as a closeted nb by an out nb in uni) I instantly sensed that the vampire was mtf and had a traumatic background with that. to hear you guys give the background from the book and find that it is indeed the case, makes me feel validated for my interpretation of the film

Just found you <3 So the Descent*...I am a Juno sympathizer as well...Especially when people say she murdered Beth...Beth snuck up behind someone who was literally just processing that they just fought for their life against a cave creature that killed her friend Holly. Her reaction was pure instinct and natural to go directly on an offensive. Would love to talk more about Juno!
