Description

A luxury hotel pool attendant in Miami meets a married couple. The wife starts flirting with the young man...and pretty soon he is caught up in a love triangle, one that will have far-reaching results. The husband is Jerry Falwell Jr., member of one of the most famous evangelical families in America and president of a Christian university with a strict code of conduct. The affair is part of a pattern of questionable behavior that will threaten the Falwell family dynasty. From Wondery, the makers of The Shrink Next Door and Bunga Bunga, comes IN GOD WE LUST, a six part series about what the tabloids called “the pool boy” scandal. Co-hosted by Brooke Siffrinn and Aricia Skidmore-Williams, the duo brings their humor and distinctive style of their hit series EVEN THE RICH to a reported miniseries for the very first time.

I have to say, they probably should have changed the ad read for this episode.

Sooo many adverts! I enjoyed the podcast but pretty sure it could have been one episode, if there weren't so many ads.

Too much fake laughing and noise going on. Really hurt my ears, had to shut it off. Not trying to hate, just my honest opinion. Painful for an audio only listener and not good for storytelling

I think this could have been done with one or two episodes. one host would have worked much better too. It really was too fake in its delivery. Semi interesting topic. Maybe also do some research on Falwell, Sr.

💯% agree with Erika. WAY TOO MANY ADS. By the third episode, you learn how much to jump forward.

I will have to get my information somewhere else about this story. These women are so full of themselves. I know that's the point, but it is degrading them. The arrogant sarcasm is way too much. This company shows a serious attitude toward Christians. The people in this story cannot be Christians. There are a lot of fakes out there. I guess this is most "journalism " these days.

Damn, you folks are picky. I've enjoyed the podcast. I think the hosts are keeping things moving along well and the fake shock/scandalizing seem to be meant a bit tongue in cheek. It's a pop-culture piece centered on the scandal of a public figure, they weren't going for the Pulitzer. Also these episodes have the normal amount of ads for a Wondery podcast outside of the Wondery platform. You do realize you're listening to free content and that ads are how they pay their staff, right? The anger here is TOO much. Glad this platform isn't big enough for creators to check comments, the way you're all carrying on.

How can I take this seriously? Your sarcasm and attitude is disgusting. So immature. We get it. You're talking about people with bad morals. Hypocrites, like most people to some degree. I think you chose this story because these people are, so called "Christians". I just don't understand the chip on your shoulders. You are very difficult to listen to.

the story is good but apparently only exists for the purpose of giving airtime to TOO MUCH ADVERTISING AND CROSS PROMOTION. Sorry to shout... it's really too much.

Can you please do a podcast about Pastor Jack Schaap? now in prison for taking a minor across state lines for sex! He was a mega church pastor First Baptist Hammond and ran a college . The corruption stemming from IFB is massive multiple pastors sending profiles to other churches instead of calling police! They are cult/like skirts only can't touch opposite gender can only listen to hymns , can't go to movies etc etc. This would get you a ton of listeneres! https://www.christianitytoday.com/news/2018/december/independent-fundamentalist-baptist-church-abuse-scandal.html

I had such high hopes for this.oodcast since I am a fan of Even The Rich, but somehow the hosts managed to make this very boring and the mock banter very repetitive and irritating.

This is great podcast material but the co-presenting and faux conversation/mock shock really detract from it.
