The  NFL Draft begins Thursday night in Detroit and Andy Reid and Brett Veach will be making their picks with fat new contracts in tow.  Andy becomes the highest paid coach in NFL history and he's earned it.  Stan Weber will join us to talk about Mizzou, KSU and KU players in the draft and where the Chiefs may be going.    Mayor Q is trying to back off his comments asking for the overcrowded illegal alien centers in other cities to send those people here.  Oh, his Dem power brokers aren't going to like this.    Hamas terrorist group supporters in NY are arrested by the dozens as, shockingly, they turn violent in their hatred of Jews.
The Orioles really brought the Royals down to earth Saturday and Sunday and we're left hoping this is just a little bump in the road.    KU Athletics Director Travis Goff challenges Tim Fitzgerald of www.gopowercat.com to come to Lawrence for an interview about the football stadium renovation after Fitzgerald pointed out some uncomfortable things about the financing of the project.     A major league team and United Airlines are investing why and how a coach wound up in captains seat in the cockpit during a charter flight.    Democrats wave Ukrainian flags on the House floor Saturday as we are spending $61 billion more to support war.    Mayor Q is taking it from all sides after saying he wants KC to be a haven for illegal aliens.  And your emails after Friday's podcast were fantastic, I'll share some of the best.
The popup ad that started playing in front of this podcast Wednesday was a surprise to me, too.  I'll explain fully what's going on and I'm asking for your input.    Conservative writer Jack Cashill at www.wnd.com has authored a column asking if the George Floyd era is over after he snapped a picture of a giant mural of Floyd on a building near his office being painted over.  You have to hear this.    It's too late for many suspended athletes from this past year but the federal government has implemented a new rule for college athletes pertaining to Title IX that will keep the fellas playing.    George Brett went on MLB Radio and proclaimed what I've been saying for years: It's time for the Royals and Chiefs to split up.    We'll talk some needs for the Chiefs in next week's draft, the NCAA wants more free agency for athletes and a former Royal gets suspended for something he said.  This could get interesting.
Former Attorney General  William Barr is no fan of Donald Trump but says he'll vote for him in November.  Barr made the comments as he was speaking truth about the dangers of the Biden administration and weaponizing our justice system.  You gotta hear this.    The Kansas City Star writes a headline that makes it look like Josh Hawley stole campaign funds to buy himself a car and then explains in the story it was a business move that any Missouri voter would see as brilliant and savvy..... and legal.    How can it possibly be that millions of dollars worth of merchandise and memorabilia was stolen from Augusta National Golf Club over a 13 year period?  Even worse, it was somebody that worked there that has finally been arrested.  This sounds like a great Netflix movie or documentary.    Caitlin Clark jerseys are already sold out and not available at major sites until August or October and retailers are blaming Nike.  But, what if Nike is up to something for themselves?    The Royals get a double header split against the White Sox but its becoming alarming to see how weak their bats are on the road.    And former Mizzou player Jontay Porter has been booted from the NBA for life.  I've got the details on his gambling scandal.  Then, our Final Final is a famous football coach that has never had coffee.
It hurts to say this but KCMO Mayor Quentin Lucas inviting illegal aliens unhappy in New York to set up shop in KC will likely get somebody killed.  And he's willing to spend tax dollars to make it happen while presiding over record murder rates he cannot fix.  While Mayor Q is three years behind other big city Mayors that are now changing their minds after failure, this man can't stand the idea of others moving ahead of him in the Democrat party.  So collateral damage be damned, Q is on board now with all the other Dems that simply don't care about your safety.  This will impact everyone in our region.      A high school student gets set up during a classroom project to use the word "alien" and gets suspended, defunding NPR gains momentum and baseball pitcher Trevor Bauer is proven right again as a woman that extorted him for $1 million is charged with multiple felonies in Arizona.    Then, a former GM that's on MLB Network loves the Royals and thinks they could win the division, Patrick Mahomes is on the cover of Time Magazine and a proposed CFB Super League looks very 1985.
Donald Trump is on trial in New York for a crime not named because if they did name it exactly, it would be a misdemeanor and would be thrown out.  It's the weakest of all the trials and clearly political which makes me ask the question about one person missing from this topic who's sitting on the sidelines.  And it makes me really angry.    These pro Hamas protesters blocking roads to airports and closing the Golden Gate bridge should have the book thrown at them.  Lock them up and see how they get treated in our prisons.    The Kansas City Star is clearly transitioning to something less crazy than their far left past few years.  I'll share some examples of how the market place is reeling the whackos in.      17 games in and the Royals are the most well rounded team, statistically, since 1977.  That's a team many Royals fans believe was the greatest Royals team of all time.    Andy Reid comments on Rashee Rice and, of course, it was not Andy's finest moment.      And University of Nebraska play by play broadcaster Greg Sharpe makes an emotional announcement on the air.  I met and worked with Greg beginning in 1982 and this one is tough.
Greetings from Austin, Texas as we are wrapping up a visit to see my son and get a little sun.  We lock in on the brilliance of Scottie Scheffler's game at Augusta, the Royals falling in New York and a spectacle at Arrowhead Saturday night.    Then, a new poll show Americans remember the Trump years fondly.
In our quest to promote Republican officials that drive the KC media absolutely crazy, today we chat with Mike Brown.    As the new chair of the GOP in Kansas, and his wife leading the Trump campaign in Kansas, this is a family affair.  Mike's just like a lot of us, a real radical that wants to enforce laws already on the books and make sure we have free and fair elections.      But what really stirs the dems is Mike just won't back down.  Compromise isn't very high on his list of priorities.
Make it 6 in a row for the Royals who blow out the Astros on a night that all 9 starters scored at least one run and Vinnie Pasquantino broke out of his early season slump with a homer and 4 rbi.  Seth Lugo gave up 2 in 6 innings and the bullpen makes it 19 innings in a row without allowing a run.  What the heck is going on here?    Former Royal Jaime Bluma joins us to talk about the hot streak and the one time reliever gives his thoughts on whether the pen is legit or just hot.    We also chat about Jaime's commitment to military charity and his fiance's amazing 1000 mile kayak competition in the Arctic Circle.  Are you kidding me, we're about to cover a lot of ground.
With a bombshell column by a journalist at National Public Radio describing a place where journalism has died and liberal activism has taken over, it's a reminder we must defund and end public broadcasting. Your tax dollars pay for over $600 million a year to fund NPR and PBS and we've now learned that NPR has 87 registered dems working there and no registered Republicans.     A democrat in Texas speaking to high school students before the eclipse set an unreachable new bar for stupidity as she described the gas and energy we get from the "planet" known as the moon.  You have to hear this.     Trump is leading in the polls and walked right into crossfire as voters on both sides are mad at his speech on abortion.    The Royals are officially hot... and good.  The bullpen is now on a roll and led to KC coming back from a 3-0 deficit to make it 5 wins in a row!  Salvy got the walk off gapper and this team is having a blast.    World number one golfer Scottie Scheffler has profound words at the Masters for what it's like to be at the top of his sport and Lionel Messi is headed to KC to take on Sporting at Arrowhead.  Peter Vermes is quite a fan.
From record tv ratings to watch the sensational Caitlin Clark and a 38-0 South Carolina team led by controversial Dawn Staley,  to Dan Hurley's historic back to back titles at UCONN, this March was one for the record books.  It was filled with greatness but was also filled with individuals that many fans love to hate making this all one perfect storm.    The Royals have to be better than their record because they lead the American League in so many statistical categories.  Wait until you hear the numbers.    The NAIA bans trans athletes from competition with a perfectly thought out and written policy.  A weekend shootout on the Plaza, likely gang related, is all too common now in KC and a host on the View thinks eclipses, earthquakes and cicadas are the result of climate change.   Then, the left is totally gripping over the fact Donald Trump has run the perfect campaign so far after hauling in $52 million for one dinner at his house.
Well, what do you know?  The Royals are on fire with a four game sweep of the Chicago White Sox, a team with far too many former Royals to be taken seriously.  But Royals pitchers give up only 5 runs in four games and that's insane.  This is fun.    The owner's wife took to Facebook to just beat up on Jackson County, Missouri after the failed stadium vote.  Marny Sherman says the Royals and Chiefs are both DONE with Jackson County officials.  Uh oh.    As the National Title game approaches, reports are that Kentucky's John Calipari is leaving to take the job at Arkansas after KSU coach Jerome Tang turned it down.  And you thought an eclipse was unusual.    It's Masters Tournament week and I can't wait. A very unique player won on the PGA Tour Sunday to qualify for the Masters and becomes the first player ever to play in a kid's event at Augusta National and then qualify for the Masters.    Donald Trump puts out a video on his abortion policy that dodges the whole issue, Joe Biden continues to crater with young voters and Morgan Wallen is arrested.    Our Final Final is a tip of the hat to long time KC sports reporter Karen Kornacki as she's retiring after 45 years.
Before Gary Lezak joins us with everything you need to know about Monday's solar eclipse, we dive into a few tasty issues including Mayor Q's proclamation that KCMO will be home to the Royals and Chiefs in 2040 and beyond.    The Royals just crush the White Sox Thursday night behind more great starting pitching.    Rashee Rice admits he was driving the Lamborghini in that crash last Saturday.  Dems stop registration drives according to a leaked memo.  Oregon is "re" criminalizing drugs as their previous policy turned into disaster.  The Boulevard Drive in opens for its 74th season.      And long time friend and meteorologist Gary Lezak joins us with everything you need to know about Monday's solar eclipse
The Royals have a season crushing problem in their bullpen.  This team has starting pitching, superstars in the lineup and absolutely no ability to hold a lead.  Will Smith looks like a middle reliever, not a closer, and we don't care what the team promised him.  If you want to be taken seriously, sign former Cy Young winner Trevor Bauer and convert him to closer.  Bauer has been completely exonerated of any crime and MLB says he can play.  What on earth are the Royals waiting on?  Is this because he's an outspoken Trump supporter? Or are the Royals just as bad at this as they are election campaigns.    It only took a few hours for Kansas officials to pounce on the Chiefs to start negotiating with them on a new stadium, likely near the Legends in Wyandotte County.  Kansas has so much money and laws in place it's hard to see how the Chiefs will be able to say no.    The UCONN Huskies are favored to win it all this week at the Final Four in Phoenix but they'll have to do it on less sleep.  The team's plane got stuck in KC and they didn't arrive until 6:15 am.    Gas prices are soaring on Joe Biden even as he says he won't refill our strategic reserve, details emerge about the killing of a local celebrity and pigeons die hard.
The stadium vote for the Royals to go downtown just got crushed by voters 58-42 and you not only respect the outcome, you have tip your cap they got it right.  The Royals plan was a mess, residents downtown didn't want it and residents in the suburbs are afraid to go to games downtown in liberal America's record crime wave.  This was a perfect storm anybody could see.    The KC Star is freaking out that Lee's Summit has two new school board members after Tuesday's election that want to "get back to basics" in the school district and say goodbye to "diversity champ" board president.    DEI is gone from the University of Texas and Axios has authored a piece that has their hair on fire that Trump could win and kick DEI programs out of the Federal Government.  Amen.    Yellowstone actor Mo Brings Plenty, who lives near Paola, is asking for the public's help to find his missing nephew Cole Brings Plenty.    The Royals starting pitching, one time through the rotation, is the best in baseball.  And Caitlin Clark delivers huge ratings for women's basketball.
It's hard to tell who's in more trouble, Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice or Kansas City media.  Columnist Toriano Porter of the KC Star completely botches an opinion piece, sports guys ignore any crime and start trashing the NFL for likely wanting to suspend Rice and a podcaster's video on X, well, fans didn't want to hear it.  So here we are again with local media doing the Chiefs work for them in order to protect their access and press passes to Super Bowls.  Go figure.     RFK jr is climbing in polling and CNN allowed him in to the studio for a sit down interview Monday.  Oops, the host started in on that liberal talking point that Trump is the biggest threat to democracy and RFK took her apart like a surgeon.  We'll play it for you.    I'm not sure I've seen a team with a pair of star players on fire and insanely good starting pitching go 1-3 to start the year but that's your Royals.  This bullpen will determine the whole season and right now it looks like late loss after late loss.    The Chiefs may have quite a plan for backup qb Carson Wentz, Caitlin Clark scores 41 for Iowa, the golf merger has created a great new event and baseball's first no hitter is a really great story.
If Rashee Rice was driving the car registered to him in that crash in Dallas Saturday evening, he's in big trouble.  But this is what the Chiefs are really good at.  Long before these Super Bowls, the Chiefs were better at keeping players out of jail and on the field than they were scoring touchdowns.  And this happened in the city the Hunt Family has been in power for generations.  Lucky kid.     Bobby Witt Jr is on fire but if you want to get excited about the Royals, look at their starting pitching.  Brady Singer dealt a show stopper on Sunday and this is the best thing possible for season long success in KC.     NC State is the cinderella of college basketball this year as coach Kevin Keats has gone from likely getting fired to getting a contract extension in the past three weeks.  We set the table for the Final Four.    Denver has had enough of being a sanctuary city, Mizzou's Journalism School gives out a disgusting award and liberals and conservatives alike now agree the leftist Covid "experts" got it wrong and owe us an apology.
There was no way a Royals loss was going to ruin the fun at the KKHI Patrons Party Thursday, we'll share a couple of the highlights from the event and the Royals game.  Cole Ragans was good and Andy Reid's first pitch was epic.  But the Royals really, really blew a chance with the group photo afterwards.    The Sweet 16 is underway and we had a couple great finishes and one sweet surprise.    Jackson County exec Frank White is already floating a great new idea for a stadium vote if this one fails on Tuesday... you have to hear this.    Kansas AG Kris Kobach sues the Biden admin over student loan bailouts and has the greatest quote ever.    Americans of all backgrounds are just fine with the term "illegal alien" in new polling, including a whopping number of Hispanics.    The University of Wisconsin is being investigated by the Department of Education for discriminating against white people, a golfer sets a record and the NFL is have a Christmas Day auction of sorts.
The Chiefs are on their way to winning the off season again as they win a scrum for rugby star Louis Rees Zammit from Europe.  This kid is an amazing athlete and reports indicate he's signing with KC this week to be a WR/RB and kick returner.  This is exactly why the Chiefs are so good at everything they do on the field.  I'll explain.     The Royals, five days before election day, have changed the plans for their new stadium.  Could they be a hotter mess?    We've got a clip from MLB Network you're going to love and may have you believing Cole Ragas is a Cy Young candidate.    Trump and Biden will be just a few miles apart today but you've gotta hear the contrast of who and what they are about in their appearances.    Spokesperson KJP had a spokesperson lie for her about hanging up the phone on a radio reporter in North Carolina.  This is just biz as usual for these folks but if these were Trump spokespeople, this would be the biggest story in America.    Comedian Jon Stewart says Trump over valuing his properties is not a victimless crime and has hammered the ex president relentlessly.  Uh oh, Stewart overvalued his townhome by 829%.    A new movie about Reagan is coming out and a sort of famous son takes a fun jab at his really famous dad.
The Royals Season opener is here and it's a whole new team.  We'll set the table for you for opening day whether you're going to the game, coming to our Patron's Party, watching on tv or listening on radio.  Play Ball!    Patrick Tuohey of www.showmeinstitute.org just scorches Mayor Q in a new piece pointing out how wrong politicians are before a vote occurs telling us things we want to hear.   KJP hangs up on a radio News Director in North Carolina because she didn't like being asked real questions.  This story is a big deal in that swing state.    Caitlin Clark is wrong again as tv ratings show the men's tourney is AT LEAST ten times more popular than the women's.     The NFL has adopted the XFL kickoff rule and this is great for football fans everywhere.  And Columbia's Jontay Porter of the Toronto Raptors is being investigated for throwing gambling lines in his own games.
