The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have completely blown their lead in the NFC South after a last-second loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The defense just cannot be trusted and all of the clutch the Bucs had early on has faded. Kyle Pitts had a career night as the Falcons showed some life. Now, the Carolina Panthers will be tasked with keeping pace as they take on the New Orleans Saints off their win. Philip Rivers is now officially back and it would seem like Rivers will be ready to start right away. The Philadelphia Eagles have lost three straight games after falling to the Los Angeles Chargers and look like a broken team on the offensive side of the ball. Jalen Hurts had one of his worst games ever and it looked even worse having Justin Herbert outplay him through so much adversity. The Indianapolis Colts shocked the NFL world on Monday when it was announced they would give a tryout to 44-year old Philip Rivers. The Kansas City Chiefs couldn't get anything going against the Houston Texans despite their season being on the line. The Chiefs may not be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, but it would be nearly impossible for them to make it now. The Detroit Lions handled the Dallas Cowboys from start to finish on Thursday Night Football and now the Cowboys playoff hopes are likely finished as well. The Lions stay alive after smothering the Cowboys offense, satisfyingly after Dak Prescott had a lot to say before the game. The Philadelphia Eagles have a little more breathing room against the Los Angeles Chargers now, but losing Jalen Carter will be a massive blow to their best unit. The Kansas City Chiefs are on their last legs and with a banged up offensive line they host the best defensive line in the NFL. Blocking the Houston Texans defensive front won't be easy, and it'll be even harder now, requiring more from Patrick Mahomes. The Cincinnati Bengals are also hoping to stay alive this week as they head to take on the Buffalo Bills in a game the Bills should be able to handle, but for their big-picture goals to work, the Bills have to be better in the pass rush and need to prove it now. In the NFC North, the Chicago Bears get a chance to prove they are true contenders on the road against the Green Bay Packers and it will be a test of discipline as a team that doesn't turn it over faces a team that forces them more than anyone else. Finally, the Washington Commanders will get Jayden Daniels back and having the better quarterback could be the edge they need on the road against the Minnesota Vikings.
