I help moms declutter their homes, heads, and hearts.

Hey there, mama. Are you tired of all the STUFF crowding your home, calendar, and mind? Do you wish you could say goodbye to the endless to-do list running around in your head, while you’re running around in the middle of the mess? Want to declutter but don’t know where to start? Are your dreams buried under piles of toys and laundry?

Welcome to Moms Overcoming Overwhelm, where you will find proven and practical solutions to declutter your home, head, and heart. If you’re ready to reclaim your precious resources of time, energy, attention, and focus and create the motherhood and life you want on YOUR terms - this podcast is for you.

Hi, I’m Emily - a wife, #boymom, and simplicity seeker. I struggled to get pregnant and felt completely overwhelmed - until I discovered decluttering could create the physical and emotional space I needed to become a mom.

Now, two kids later, I’ve transformed my life and motherhood by developing simple systems around decluttering, capsule wardrobes, kids stuff, cleaning and tidying, meal planning, time management, and more- and I can’t wait to share them with you!

If you’re ready to reclaim the time and energy you crave, be present with your kids, and finally enjoy the life and motherhood you SO deserve - let’s kick overwhelm to the curb, shall we? Grab your lukewarm coffee, your notebook and pen, and clear off some counter space! Let’s do this.

As you embark on your decluttering and simplifying journey, you start to ask yourself questions such as: What am I making space for? What dreams have been buried in the stuff and chaos around me? Where do I find my self-worth as a mom and woman? Is it in the roles that I play and the things I own, or something deeper? When we start simplifying and creating space in our homes, calendars, and minds, it opens up so much more than extra square footage or hours in our day. It allows us to dream, to see where our self-worth truly comes from outside what we have and what we do, and to reach our greatest potential as moms and women. On today’s episode, simplicity coach Rose Lounsbury and I discuss these topics and much more! Rose helps busy working moms declutter their homes, simplify their work lives, and clear their minds. After struggling to balance a teaching career and 2-year-old triplets, Rose was introduced to minimalism in 2012. Inspired by the “less is more” philosophy, she let go of 70% of her family’s possessions in eight months. She eventually left the classroom to pursue a career helping other working moms create happier lives with less stuff. Rose’s advice has been featured on TEDx and USA Today, and she’s been a guest on Good Day Columbus, WYSO, WVXU, and Good Morning Cincinnati.
