We have a great podcast after one of the best playoff games in the history of Citi Field where the Mets put on a hitting clinic, not getting struck out a single time. David Peterson did his job, Reed Garrett and Ryne Stanek put on a show when it came to relieving in middle innings and Edwin Diaz is that guy. We also talked about the great moments from Vientos and Lindor and Winkier! After another tough loss, we just break it down on an honest level and say why we still believe. We have seen this team come back after tough losses and go on incredible win streaks so we know this team has a fighting chance as long as they still have baseball to play. Game 3 was not what we wanted but as we’ve seen in the past, you can always have faith in this Mets team to come out and attack after a tough loss. Luis Severino got some tough breaks early on and worked himself out of some jams but the offense was not able to provide support, that’s baseball and we look forward to seeing this lineup come out in Game 4 and give the people at Citi Field something to celebrate. We said yesterday the Dodgers scoreless innings streak couldn’t go on forever and Francisco Lindor said “bet” in the first at bat of the game! Then Sean Manaea shut down the response and Tyone Taylor drove in a run setting up Mark Vientos for one of the biggest moments of his career where he hit his first career grand slam … in the postseason! The Mets head back to Citi Field with all the momentum, hope to see all of you there and hear Mets fans helping create, as Rob Thompson said … “a hostile environment” To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. Game 1 wasn’t the episode we wanted, but every team has a tough game and there’s no team better at responding to tough games than the Mets. Kodai Senga struggled early, the bats never truly woke up but Game 2 is a new day and the Mets are still in the perfect spot to head back to Citi Field with a split series on the back of Sean Manaea, who has stepped up as the Mets ace this year. In their first NLDS game at Citi Field since 2015, the Mets came out HOT with a raucous crowd who just wanted to root their Mets onto the next round. The place was bonkers we didn’t only do a top 3 on field moment, but we also did a top 3 crowd moment. Sean Manaea pitched an absolute October gem and Pete Alonso and Jesse Winker put some balls over the wall. Mets fans, can’t wait to see you all at GAME 4!!! Can the Mets clinch a playoff series AT CITI FIELD for the FIRST TIME EVER?!   Follow this podcast on Apple/Spotify and make sure to follow us on x/twitter @VitoFCalise and @JMB9191 To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. Mark Vientos hits 2 pivotal home runs, Pete Alonso goes deep, and Brandon Nimmo hit one to put the Mets ahead … but it wasn’t enough tonight and THAT IS OK, because the Mets have split the first two games on the road and have put themselves in the position to clinch the series at home with 2 games in Queens this week. We react to this pretty raw, no notes and just talk it out. The Mets take a crazy Game 1 vs the NL 2nd place Phillies who like others, had the Mets backs up against a wall late in the game off a spectacular start from Zack Wheeler, but YET AGAIN, these never say die Mets show up when challenged. Although a leadoff Kyle Schwarber home run is a tough way to start a game, Kodai Senga shined after, and David Peterson picked up the ball to take the game all the way through a Reed Garret late appearance to keep the Phils off the board. Then the 8th inning comes around and those probability chart Mets got to work. Wow … what else is there to say? The Mets are going to the NLDS and have their first postseason series win since 2015. We’ve said it for weeks, Pete Alonso’s best baseball was ahead of him and with one swing of a bat he catapulted the Mets past the Milwaukee Brewers and drove in Francisco Lindor and Brandon Nimmo. Jose Quintana pitched an absolute gem, David Peterson closes the game and we have Hunter join the podcast LIVE from Milwaukee to give us some firsthand experiences from the clubhouse celebrations. This is a special one folks, emjoy!   Follow us on Twitter @VitoFCalise and @JMB9191 To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices.
