Today I'm bringing you a solo episode of something I've been learning lately. I hope this idea of learning when to call it enough, stop trying so hard and stop striving for perfectionism resonates with you if you've been feeling tired, run down, even overwhelmed. It's so easy to just never settle in an area of our life because we always think we need to improve. We see others who are better than us or more of an expert than us on social media. We see a new way of doing something we are already doing fine at. And we choose to keep striving for perfect instead of choose to be content with how things are. This isn't about never growing or improving on anything - it's about the fact that we can't be growing and improving in everything at once. Some thing, we're just going to be okay at in this season, and that has to be okay, or we're never going to feel good about ourselves. Listen in- I hope this episode feels like a warm hug or a breathe of fresh air that you need as much as I did/ still do. Today I'm bringing you a mini episode to share a podcast I've been loving that is a part of Cloud10 Media - the network Minimal-ish is a part of. I've been so grateful to work alongside of amazing podcasters like Rachel Nielson, host of 3 in 30 Takeaways for Moms. 3 in 30 Takeaways for Moms is hosted by Rachel Nielson, a lover of practical ideas, conversations with kindred spirits, and her two wild miracle children who keep life interesting. She combined all of these passions when creating her podcast. After a long fight to become a mother, Rachel truly believed that she would thrive as a mom from day one. Her transition into motherhood was a little bumpier than she had imagined, and she sought the help of professionals for actionable advice. 3 in 30 is a podcast for women who want to love motherhood as much as they love their children. Since moms are short on time and brain space, each 30-minute episode offers 3 actionable takeaways. 3 in 30 covers a wide variety of topics from how to stop yelling at your kids so much, to productivity and time management tips, to parenting children with ADHD or autism, to talking to your kids about racism, disability, mental health, and so much more. The tips and strategies shared by expert guests will help you make your family life a little better each week. If this sounds up your alley, listen to 3 in 30 Takeaways for Moms on your favorite podcast listening app. Listen in to the rest of this episode (or any episode of 3 in 30) by searching 3 in 30 in your favorite podcast app or clicking here for Apple Podcasts. In today's episode, we are bringing you a unique topic that we haven't approached on the podcast: Yoga, breath-work, and meditation. My guest, Dr. Chelsea Jackson Robert, is an internationally celebrated Peloton yoga teacher, and she's the perfect one to bring this conversation about yoga onto the show today. Chelsea is currently on the road to motherhood, and she shares some ways yoga can help us in our parenthood, as well as ways we can use it to help our kids adjust back to school (her doctorate is in education, and she brings so much value to this conversation on how yoga can help our kids!) Even if yoga isn't your thing, I believe you'll leave this episode with something you can try either yourself or with your kids. If you want to try one of Chelsea's yoga classes, find her on the Peloton app! Today's episode is a bonus episode where we are approaching a topic a little off the norm for minimal-ish, but one I think is important! It's also different because I got to interview the owner of a company that I have benefited from, and that I'm also partnering with. I'm grateful to get to hear more of the heart behind a company that has helped me, along with being able to partner with them to sponsor this episode.
