Welcome to our Podcast! We are two best friends who grew up in the FLDS cult and are now wanting to share with you our thoughts and experiences. Although there is a lot to say about the FLDS, it won’t be our only topic of discussion. We are so excited to make our dream a reality! We also wanted to say thank you for the endless support. Schooling in the FLDS was different for everyone involved. This is our personal experiences. We explain how schooling was, the priorities, and other things that tie into the topic of the FLDS
Not everything about our childhood was a negative experience. There is plenty of good stories. Even though our childhoods were simple (as in we didn’t have toys, phones etc) we always found a way to make fun. Thinking back, we realize how creative we were.
OK in this episode we touch on the main questions we’ve been getting like: what are future plans are, reasons for the hair and dress, and culture shocks
We talk about mistreatment in The FLDS also how it was to have multiple moms we discuss the hierarchy in our families. *possible TW for mention of abuse.
This episode is kinda all over the place. But… It is mostly about our experience with men after leaving the FLDs, and how we deal with anxiety. Men have been a large part of both of our traumas. we talk a little bit about high school and coping mechanisms that we’ve found through out our journey.
In this episode Sarah talks about her 2008 Texas raid story, how it was being a little kid going through traumatic experience and being separated from her Mom. Details and information on the YFZ ranch. Amber’s point of view on the raid while being in hiding.
So excited! This is our first episode ever! In this episode we talk about our background and where we came from, the definition of the FLDS and how we met. Forgive us if we go off topic there’s so many rabbit holes that we could go down especially with the topic of the FLDS. And we also are learning something new every time that we record sooo. In the next episode we hope to answer some more questions and go into further detail! This is just us kind of having conversation so I hope it is understandable.
