Sarah Edmondson was a young actress pursuing a career in film and television, when she hit a low point and was hoping to find a new purpose in life. She ran into renowned filmmaker, Mark Vicente, who spoke to her about NXIVM and eventually brought her into the organization. There she started following Keith Raniere and Nancy Salzman's mission. They encouraged Sarah to give her all. In part 1 of 2, we learn about how NXIVM's leadership undermined its followers and groomed them in such a conniving way, that no one knew what was happening to them. Sarah grew close to many members of the organization - which later turned out to be a cult, and even rose up in leadership. Listen to how Sarah's journey and newfound community helped her find a new meaning in life. She’s the founder of Ambrosia Interior Design and is a self-made multimillionaire. As a little girl, she was always sick, so she’d spend her time drawing and designing houses. She grew up in a loving family; and although her previous marriages ended in divorce, she was close with her four children. She continues to build her interior design empire today; while spreading the word about domestic abuse and how to look out for red flags. She doesn’t believe in victim shaming; so she wrote a book about her experience with her narcissistic, abusive fifth husband, John Meehan. idk if you'll see these comments, Dr Ramani, but thanks for the millionth time for what you do. this was so interesting and validating too. I've been hurt by multiple narcissistic people, most of whom were women, 2 of whom were romantic relationships. smh much too late, I realized I tolerated way too much from my first girlfriend purely because she was not a man! shock of shocks, that's because of my upbringing with a toxic and toddler-like mother. I'm safe and no contact now, and with a beautiful girlfriend who respects and loves me- we both make changes when it's necessary and I'm thrilled to have her in my life.
