All good Avengery things must come to an end. Comedian/writer/actor and creator of Fire Island (arguably the best film outside the MCU), Joel Kim Booster joins Nicole and Lauren to wave a teary goodbye to the ensemble-est part of the franchise. They also do some NSFW Marvel-related shopping on Etsy.com, a sentence that none of us ever thought we'd ever write, ever.  Next week's movie: WandaVision, Episodes 1-4 (2019) Like the show? The MCU finally serves up a female lead superhero and Nicole and Lauren are... well, less than impressed. Emily Gonzalez and Sammy Smart of new Headgum show Too Scary; Didn't Watch go off-script to watch a non-scary movie with us, as we meet Carol Danvers and discuss the moral ambiguity of Nick Fury doing... that thing... he did... to the skrull. You know the scene we're talking about.  Next week's movie: Avengers: Endgame(2019) Like the show? Well, well, well - if it isn't last season's Newcomers host Gabrus, reunited with Lauren and Nicole once again, not unlike the way the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy join forces in this week's MCU installment. We totally planned it that way! Join us, and them, as they fight to protect all the Infinity Stones (not unlike Croc Jibbitz) from the evil grasp of evil Thanos. Bet you've been wondering when Lauren and Nicole would make it back to Wakanda. Well, they've arrived. And? They love it. True friend-of-the-pod Shaun Diston stops by with his well-worn copy of the Marvel Encyclopedia to teach us a thing or two about the Xhosa language, vibranium mines, and - most importantly - which MCU characters Lauren and Nicole should get to play.  Next week's movie: Avengers: Infinity War (2018) Like the show? Everyone said Nicole and Lauren would like this one. Since the start of the season, they all said: "Just wait 'til Thor: Ragnarok." And so we waited, traveling to Xandar and the Quantum Realm and the Avengers' mansion, until it was time for us to reunite with Thor and Loki and Heimdall (but this time, they're funnier). Paul Scheer (How Did This Get Made?, The League, Marvel 616) stops by to find out if Nicole and Lauren did, in fact, like this one. Well, did they? You'll have to tune in to find out.  Next week's movie: Black Panther (2018) Like the show? Fiiiinallyyyy, Nicole and Lauren get to hang out with Peter Parker for a whole feature. And who better to take us through Spider-man's return to the MCU than actor, comedian, and Marvel's Next Breakout Superhero according to Stephen Colbert: Zach Cherry. And before you ask: yes, we watch Tom Holland's wet-hot performance of Umbrella and, yes, we get a Cam update! Wow, a jam-packed ep.  Next week's movie: Thor: Ragnarok (2017) Like the show? Someone call the doctor (but preferably one that doesn't text and drive): Nicole and Lauren love this movie! Our own person Ancient One, comedian/podcaster/author of several Marvel comics (!!!) A house divided. We finally get actor/writer/comedian/owner-of-a-custom-built-shelf-for-storing-his-comic-book-collection Jason Mantzoukas (The League, Parks & Rec, HowDid This Get Made?) to be our patient tour guide through the MCU as Lauren and Nicole choose sides in the Avengers' family feud. Nicole and Lauren sit down with their Headgum neighbors Caleb Hearon and Shelby Wolstein of Keeping Records to discuss just how cute and teeny tiny Paul Rudd is in Ant-Man. Featuring: a special cameo appearance by Caleb's roommate. **Editors note: our resident Marvel expert Leah would like us to mention that she accidentally refers to actress Kathryn Newton as Kathryn Lang in this episode. This week on the pod, it's Nicole, Lauren, Groot, Rocket, and Kevin T. Porter just having a lot of fun. You guessed it, it's finally time for Guardians of the Galaxy! They laugh, they cry, they laugh/cry at the BTS footage of Vin Diesel saying "I am Groot" in multiple different languages. Something for everyone, this time around! Be sure to check out Kevin T. Well well well, leave it to our good friend/fossil Captain America to put a pep in Lauren & Nicole's step! Him and *checks notes* Robert Redford. Friend of the show and "horny & comics" expert Ify Nwadiwe (Grand Crew, Comedy Bang Bang!, Key and Peele) returns to discuss Captain America: The Winter Soldier and share his expert opinion on nail care in adult films and the pros/cons of steroid use. Ify, so helpful. Next week's movie: Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) Like the show? Rate Newcomers 5 stars on Spotify and Apple Podcasts and leave a review for Nicole and Lauren to read on the pod! The gang's all here! For Nicole and Lauren's first Avengers film, we invited on friend-of-the-pod (and recent Marvel stan!) Ashley Nicole Black (A Black Lady Sketch Show, Full Frontal with SamanthaBee) to find out what happens when you bring together a group of remarkable people…to see if they could become something more…to see if they could work together when we needed them to…to fight the batt—sorry, we’ll stop. Wait... could it be? A Marvel installment that Nicole and Lauren actually enjoy? We can all thank the handsome, wholesome Steve Rogers for this little MCU miracle. Comedian/writer James III (Black Men Can't Jump [In Hollywood]) travels back with us to 1942 to discuss the pecs and pitfalls that come with being the Star Spangled Man With A Plan and how much more fun it is to fight bad guys with the help of all your friends. This week on the pod, Nicole and Lauren explore the fantastical ins and outs of 2011's Thor (dir. Kenneth Branagh). For their first journey to Asgard, they decided to bring along Eugene Cordero (Casey in the Disney+ series Loki) to fill in the gaps in their knowledge of everyone's favorite "himbo god."  Next week's movie: Captain America, The First Avenger (2011) Like the show? Well, well, well. If it isn't our old friend Iron Man, back at it again. Nicole and Lauren jump into the third movie in the MCU (and second of our abridged watch-through), 2012's Iron Man 2, with their friends from across the Headgum hallway, Carl Tart and Lamar Woods. it's so weird to hear a different take. I thought this movie had too many jokes (Kat Denning was the only good comic relief). I read the comics as a kid and Thor was a very serious dramatic comic, with hardly any jokes at all. But that's how I like my superhero movies, too many jokes make it more like a parody). I love the podcast by the way. I guess your different takes is exactly what we want 😄

so, now you know how it feels when we are forced to watch rom-coms. LOL. traumatic, dramatic emotional movies , it has the same effect as this movie had on you. but, I'm on board. This is so funny.

This show always cracks me up. I love the part when Brennan is talking about tables you use to roll for things like weather. Lauren and Nicole are asking if there is literaly a physical separate card table the dm pulls out (DJs!) and Brennan thinks they're asking something much deeper and less tangible and goes into a long detailed explanation about the finer points of the game in a totally different direction. Their question is never answered.

As a Star Wars and LotR fan I really enjoy this (even if Lauren and Nicole clearly don't).

I'm not sure if they were just trying to be comedic or what but I feel like these two ladies we're not into this movie from the very beginning. they could have at least tried to give it a chance.

i don't see why the podcast is still going at this point. They can't even bothered to watch the material they are covering anymore. I've never seen a starwar myself, I only listen for the hosts, and they sound so over it that i am too.
