In 1991, when so many acts from the 60s were lucratively touring, George Harrison decided to dip his toes in the water. Why? Money. Where? Japan. Who? Clapton. Mal EvansMal Evans had a front-row seat to the entire Beatles experience, and the Beatles were happy to have him there. Stuart Sutcliffe - Part TwoAs a group, the Beatles were changed by Hamburg. Individually each Beatle got something different from their time in the city and it would shape the rest of their lives …and for Stuart it was Astrid and art. Live on tape from Dublin, it’s Nothing Is Real. Website: http://www.nothingisrealpod.comTwitter: @BeatlesPodFacebook Group: http://tiny.cc/NIRFBGYouTube: http://tiny.cc/NIRYT Support: http://tiny.cc/NIRsupportSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/nothing-is-real-a-beatles-podcast. Stuart Sutcliffe - Part OneStuart Sutcliffe was the star pupil at the Liverpool College of Art, and also John Lennon’s flatmate. By becoming a Beatle, he demonstrated that the band was a state of mind. To be a Beatle was to be something…other. Stop & Smell The RosesWhen work began on Ringo’s eighth album in May 1980, the outlook was good. John, Paul and George came on board to contribute, trying to rekindle the magic of 1973’s Ringo album. By the time the album came out at the end of 1981, it was a different world. Live on tape from Dublin & Belfast, it’s Nothing Is Real. Website: http://www.nothingisrealpod.comTwitter: @BeatlesPodFacebook Group: http://tiny.cc/NIRFBGYouTube: http://tiny.cc/NIRYT Support: http://tiny.cc/NIRsupportSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/nothing-is-real-a-beatles-podcast. Bit sniffy about Help here lads! That its a transitional album is not a fault rather part of its importance. Its a key stepping stone between the pop sensibility of the first albums and the experimentalism over what was to come next. Helped as you say, by the Dylan influence, its a very different sounding album (not sure about your constant references to this and HSN as soundtracks - they are also albums in their own right). Its also the album where all their individual voices start to more clearly emerge. There is some good stuff from track 8 onwards, I've Just Seen a Face is really good song that always, for me, calls to mind Simon and Garfunkek.

great podcast! some might say that the Beatles podcast field is a crowded one but the humour and tone of this really won me over. the overall pitch is perfect-not too dry, not too trivial, hits the sweet spot. here's to more in 2020!
