Nostalgia is a funny thing. Five friends discussing it is even funnier. Join us as we reflect on some of the best and worst movies from last century and rewatch them together On Second Watch. Did they get better with age? Worse? Only one way to find out...

Join Tim, Chris, Dana, Kari, and Spaz as we plunge head first into the movies we grew up on and discuss our nostalgia for them. Then, we'll watch the movie, jump back on the mics, and record our observations. We'll provide both our Nostalgia Score and Rewatch Score to see if the movie aged well, or if it should stay in last century.

April Fools! On Second Watch has been taken over by Doug and Jamie from the podcast Good Times, Great Movies. Enjoy their hilarious take on this 1987 film featuring arm wrestling, truckin', and fatherhood. This movie is so '80s...On this special Slysgiving episode of the podcast, Doug confuses lawyers for judges and secretaries for lawyers and wonders if the dying mother is the actual villain of this movie. Meanwhile, Jamie wishes for a Stallone/Loggia Christmas card and is wildly confused by commercials on streaming services. Turn your hat around backwards, challenge a random child to an arm wrestling match and join us as we celebrate our fifth Slysgiving by having an absolute blast watching Over the Top!----------About Good Times, Great MoviesEvery other Friday, Doug McCambridge and Jamie Lorello discuss a film from the 1980s. Some are films we haven't seen since we were kids and offer a fresh perspective. Others are films we've never seen before but probably should have. Do they hold up? Are they classics? Or would these films just be better off having been lost to time?Website - https://goodtimesgreatmovies.com/Twitter - https://twitter.com/GTGMcastFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/goodtimesgreatmoviesPatreon - https://www.patreon.com/goodtimesgreatmoviesAnd check us out at https://www.oswpodcast.com/

The idea of taking one of the best video games and video game characters from 16-bit to the big screen sounds like an easy way to make a lot of money. Obtain an incredible intellectual property with full creative control, assemble an incredible cast, toss in $48mil, what could go wrong? Let us count the ways...I do promise that you will laugh more listening to this episode than you would have watching 1993's adventure comedy film Super Mario Bros. Our Plot Summary Mad Libs is straight up offensive and I almost feel like I owe Kari and apology. Almost. Most importantly though, watching this film was worth it because we, with the help of all of YOU, raised over $900 for the children at CS Mott Children's Hospital! When rewatching a sci-fi movie from decades ago, it's often hilarious how the future and technology is assumed to evolve. 1997's "The Fifth Element" seems to intentionally lean into that hard, as the technology appears to have been developed by someone from the early 80's interpretation of what the future might be. Join us as we take a trip to planet Fhloston to save the universe and admire everything Ruby Rhod.----------Movie DetailsDirected by Luc Besson, who co-wrote the screenplay with Robert Mark Kamen. This film stars Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman, Mila Jovovich, Ian Holm, and Chris Tucker.Budget of $90mil, made roughly $264mil in the box officeCurrently a 7.7 on IMDb----------Ko-fi Break Shout Out - Macherie Bee - https://ko-fi.com/macheriebee - Currently going through a 100 days of painting exercise to hone their craft! Our biggest donation for our fundraiser for the Make A Wish foundation was from one of our best friends of the show, Derek! He got to choose our first review of 2021 and he selected 1999's American Drama, "Fight Club". We discuss the darker side of this film and how the general public missed the point. We also talk about the lengths that the crew went to create this incredibly artistic film with some amazing performances. Derek joins us for our rewatch discussion and shares why he loves this movie. This is the first review we've done in our new format, which sees a return of our Nostalgia and Rewatch reviews in the same episode. One year ago, four friends sat down to record their very first podcast episode. It did not go well... That episode was hidden away for only the most daring. Now, we present to you, our nostalgia review of 1990's American Christmas family comedy film, "Home Alone". Listen at your own risk...Tim, Chris, Dana, and Spaz sat around a flimsy card table with a single Blue Yeti microphone and hit record. We learned a lot this night. Most importantly, Spaz should not have certain food within 2 hours of recording a podcast. Since this was all recorded on a single channel, there was no way for me to clean up this mess.----------Movie DetailsDirected by Chris Columbus, Produced by John Hughes, with a screenplay by both.Starring Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, John Heard, Catherine O'Hara, and an incredible cameo by the one and only John CandyBudget of $18mil, made over $477mil in the box officeCurrently a 7.6 on IMDb----------Request a personalized shout out - https://ko-fi.com/movieCommission a movie review of your choice! - https://ko-fi.com/movie/commissionsCheck out all our episodes and subscribe – www.oswpodcast.com Twitter – www.twitter.com/oswpodcast1Facebook – www.facebook.com/oswpodcastInstagram – www.instagram.com/oswpodcast
