Description

Buckle up for a wild trip behind the scenes of one of the most exclusive clubs on earth: the world of professional sports owners. A mix of comedy, tragedy, and everything in between, OWNED is the first podcast ever to take listeners way above the court or field into the luxury boxes where billionaires roam. Each week, former NBA player (and current Twitter all-star) Rex Chapman is joined by a cast of reporters, athletes, and comedians to dissect the politics, scandals, and scores of these eccentric moguls who hold our hopes and dreams in their hands. It is fun, funny, dynamic, surprising, and based on incredible stories; a hybrid talk show that combines the wit and flair of SmartLess with the reporting, storytelling, and production muscle of Campside Media, creators of hit shows like Chameleon: Wild Boys, and Suspect.

New Jawn

This is my second and last attempt to listen to an episode. I got through about 10 min. before stopping. I couldn't take the constant fake, forced laughs, and making it infinitely worse was Amy's constant use of "like" after every fourth word. The concept of episodes about owners is good, but the level of childishness and base stupidity made it unlistenable. Happily unsubscribing.

What I truly dislike about this podcast is the constant fake laughing. What's the reason and why us it so prevalent on sports shows? There was not one thing said that was remotely funny, so why the fake laughs?

Great premise but Rex Chapman brings the quality of this show way down. By himself, he would have been a drag with his mediocre questions and inability to perform as a host (ie. awkward active listening). But the podcast highlights Rex's inadequacies further by having the first 5 episodes hosted by a professional journalist. It's a massively noticeable difference and hurts the show. This has a feel of "who you know vs. what you know".
