I really like Malcolm's work and enjoyed this episode having previously heard the debate. I am curious though whether Malcolm was having a dig at Douglas by again calling him Doug at the end of the podcast...?
any truth to the claim of inaccuracies in your book regarding Ireland?
brilliant and insightful.
it's an ad. Come on Michael!
🤔😠😡🤬 what a waste of time, Gladwell's ego takes a trip
Don't bother listening to this. It's a 10min advert and totally transparent
aren't there better ways to make a buck?
you really needed to make this commercial into 2 parts?
Cars?! Really?! If there's something I care less about, I cant think of it right now. Total waste of time
This ain't it, Malcolm.
Weird fanfic but the show IS called "Revisionist" so... I don't disagree with a lot of the points over this three parter, but there's a lot of sea miles between "someone was mean to me" so "I've killed/enslaved/transformed countless sentients" and "stopped fighting the hug so all's forgiven". I'm all for redemption and reformation, but there needs to be more than just a hand wave and a shrug to rectify evil acts. How is Triton's banishment (which we're meant to believe was solely because she had magic) more harsh than turning thinking creatures into polyps? Sometimes Malcolm goes so far off the deep end I'm surprised he isn't a merperson himself.
how about voluntolding
just more privileged people not wanting to level the playing field
Wow! Mind blown!
I don't know if you've ever been to the US, but the law and contracts pretty much always DO favor and protect the evil sea witches (e.g. corporations, politicians, anyone rich enough to sustain a lawyer through any challenges). in this aspect, the Little Mermaid was pretty authentic in that the system has been rigged to support the evil sea witches and unless we do a violence and change the system, that is how it will be.
