What can I say? Casey Hartnett endured the most brutal death scene in Terrifier 2; from being scalped to having bleach and salt poured onto her, I would have to say that she is a trooper! She also explained how the scene was made: five days to film that particular scene and how the makeup was applied.. Such good stuff to know! (I love getting the inside scoop on BTS secrets, especially when it comes to makeup and special effects).
Casey, also being who she is, very cool person to talk to... Great personality and open which made the interview very fun and enjoyable, I can definitely see Casey winning more awards in her future. And, I wish her nothing but continued success in her already impressive career as an actress.
Make sure to check out her other current films and upcoming projects by checking her IMDb profile!
Lauren joined me from across the pond, all the way in Turkey and I must admit that I was very impressed with what she had to say about her character in the film. This is not your normal, everyday child’s fairy tale. This rendition of Cinderella has a much darker side than what we know growing up. Lauren and I sat down and spoke about her ass-kicking character, Cinderella. I got the inside scoop on what it was like on set and work with the renowned actress, Natasha Henstridge. She also tells us which scene is her favorite and what challenges posed to her while on set. There’s no more to ‘Tale” about this movie except that Lauren acted flawlessly as Cinderella and I found the movie to be very entertaining but with a twist at the end. There are three movies that she is currently working on: Love, Lattes, and the Christmas Lights, The Devil's Retreat, and Viral Haunt. Be sure to check those out when they are released in theaters. Also, you can support Lauren by following her on social media and showering her with support.
Daz Crawford is one amazing and talented mother
f**ker! In this interview, he gets really personal with me by providing all the details on how his acting career started and how he landed the role of ‘Lighthammer’ in the movie Blade 2. This guy is the prime example of why no one should give up on something that they want, ever…
Blade 2 has such a great cast: Wesley Snipes, Ron
Perlman, Norman Reedus, and Donnie Yen. Who would not want to be in a movie with those awesome people? Words cannot describe what the audience is fathoming over this great movie.
Yes, I said it… Blade 2 is my favorite out of the
trilogy. The first movie was good, but Blade 2 is better! The third, Blade Trinity, not so much. I just wasn’t impressed with the silly dialogue and puns. To me, it seems the actors tried too hard to impress the audience. But Daz Crawford as Lighthammer, that’s one guy you do not want to run into in a dark alley.
With the great insight of the makeup, the stage, and the talent, Blade 2 will always be one of my favorite vampire movies of all time. I mean, it’s the perfect Blade movie.
Overall, great interview with Daz Crawford! He’s such an amazing and wonderful person all around and I hope that he gets to act in a lot more movies. Is it selfish of me that I would like to see a spinoff of Lighthammer?
Be sure to check out Daz in his upcoming movie, “The
Viewers” when it comes to the theaters and if your kids like books, check out his published childrens books. Supporting actors and what they do is all they ask for and in return, they bring their best to the big screen.
Movie Synopsis: The lives of ten strangers intersect through a terrifying chain of events as a mutating fungus begins to spread through a small town wiping out everyone that comes into contact with it.
Almost like an anthology; short stories regarding a plague outbreak that evolves while killing its victims.
Haley Heslip, casted as 'Serena' in the movie, "The Spore" (2021) is such a talented actress nominated, in 2019, for Best Actress in the Royal Starr Film Festival for her performance as Mia in the Peter Poulos film, VOID. Very cool and laid back interview.
Although this movie is considered meta-physical, it does have some Nightmare on Elm Street vibes and Black Phone 2 is definitely an effective sequel that delivers reinvigoration. The Grabber, just like Freddy Krueger, is able to wreak psychic and physical violence on people from within their dreams which makes it a genuine top shelf movie for me. What a cool interview! Talking to Maev and getting the inside scoop of this movie is priceless information… With the continuous praising of this film nationwide, I am very happy that I Maev got to be a part of it. Maev also spoke about a scene that never made it in the final cut! We spoked about her role as Barbara and what it was like on set to work with Mason and Madeliene; two more talented actors that should be recognized for their hard work and achievements. Black Phone 2 is still playing in theaters, and I highly recommend going to see it, you will not be disappointed. Please find Maev on Instagram, follow and support her!
I cannot emphasize enough of how V/H/S/Halloween continues to impress the audiences worldwide. Being part of such a spectacular franchise, this movie hit all of the Halloween aspects but with a little twist in each segment. Moreover, the actresses in the segment Coochie Coochie Coo deliver an exceptional performance.I am honored to have spoken to Natalia about her role in what I think is the creepiest segment in the movie. I have to say that she without a doubt delivered her role flawlessly and I am highly impressed with her performance. We went into a deep dive about how she mentally prepared for her segment, how the set was constructed, and how the special [practical] effects were applied to the characters. We also digressed and talked about nerdy stuff for a little bit: Dungeons & Dragons (DnD), role playing games, and more horror. Typically what we would all like to talk about and hear. V/H/S/Halloween is a rock-solid new chapter in the franchise and it’s not showing any signs of slowing down. So, if you’re into what the fright flicks here are doing, this is one to be excited about. Prepare to be amusingly grossed out! Still streaming on Shudder and I highly recommend watching this movie. Also, make sure you tune into Natalia’s Podcast, “Shadows in the Smoke” and her other show, “Dagger Heart”
From what I have read online, it looks like this movie is tons of fun. From watching the preview, It’s like Poultrygeist meets The Thing with a touch of Evil Dead thrown in for good measure. However, I also get the feeling that the audience will have sympathy for the victims because of the on-screen chemistry. I had the opportunity to sit down with Jada and get to know more about her character, the movie, the special effects, the puppeteering, and much more. Seeing how that I misconstrued the release, I feel like a very bad host for not being able to watch the movie. But, as soon as the interview was over, I ran to my living room and started watching the movie and believe me, I was not disappointed. The actors in this movie are phenomenal! Everyone delivered their roles flawlessly and I am super excited to see two of my favorite actors in the same movie: Spooky Madison and Aaron Prager – these two will forever be in my Independent Horror Movie Hall of Fame. With that being said, this delightful treat of a movie is now streaming on Amazon. What are you waiting for? Watch it now!
I cannot stress enough on how well this movie is made… It is definitely a surprising shock to audiences with something new, especially for the horror genre. Even if you think you have everything figured out with the cryptic clues, there is an unexpected plot twist. With a little 1980s essence added to the film, it will grind your casual evening straight into your worst nightmares. What a wonderful interview! Speaking to Susan and Jocelyn regarding their roles in the film and gaining a better understanding of the emotional arcs from their scenes. Although this film now is considered a “cozy” horror movie due to its atmospheric aspects rather than graphic, I am sure there were no challenges for either of these talented actresses. With the unexpected plot twists, the back and forth, and the cryptic messages, it’s no wonder that the audiences gravitate towards this movie earning it a top spot in my favorites. Something about the 1980s that just grabs my attention and turns any of my evenings into a delightful horror movie night. Overall, I feel that the reaper terrorized the community enough to the point as to where everyone came together to put down the villain and that this movie doesn’t cut a new path for the slasher genre, but it does travel down the well-worn road in style.
Schism is a psychological horror which carries the perspective of woman vs. self as we follow Nola on a journey that has her battling to recollect her sanity. Overall, this movie is paramount; we never know which way is up, what is actually real, and what exists in Nola’s mind. The thrilling separation that she’s become a part of is something that consistently creeps into the film as a result of its extraordinary setting. What a phenomenal guest! Please join me as I sit down with Cait in her very first interview about her role as Nola in the psychological horror, “Schism” – as we go into a deep dive regarding the dream and nightmare sequences in which create a surreal and unsettling experience for the audience. Cait is also starring in a Western Television show called “Elk Horn” which is now streaming on Amazon Prime.
Every now and then, we get to watch a movie that excels in a genre, that is the case with this movie. I am pleased to say Night of the Reaper is a pleasant surprise and you can appreciate it's throwback attempt, which was well done. This is a solid horror film and well worth the watch. The lead actress and the sheriff carry the heavy workload, and they deliver. What an absolute gem! I love this interview, and I cannot stress that enough. Jess and I went into a deep conversation about her character and this film, describing who her character is and how she was able to transition between scenes due to the constant development of her character throughout the film. It has always been a motif to set up a babysitter in a horror film. I can see there is a huge nod to John Carpenter’s “Halloween” (1978) and how it has some influence in this movie. Originally, “Halloween” was supposed to be “The Babysitter Murders” but as said in the interview, both John Carpenter and Debra Hill agreed that would not gain any traction thus being changed at the last minute. Overall, Night of the Reaper is an excellent film, I highly recommend watching it if you’re into the 1980s nostalgia, slashy-stab type movies. NIGHT OF THE REAPER is now available to stream on Shudder.
After watching the movie yesterday, I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed it and it’s a delightful treat wrapped up with a promise to scare you. In other words, it’s a devilish good time that brings back a lot of nostalgic fuzziness that not only looks great, but it’s an endearing love letter to the Satanic Panic. It was great speaking to Riley about his role in this film and gaining the insight behind the set productions, the make-up, and practical effects. He really went into detail about how it was set up and how the on-screen chemistry went so well between the actors. I am sure that there is more to be told about the film, but I am glad that this movie finally came around as a part of the V/H/S Universe. In closing: there’s truly something for everyone in this movie, some sweet, some sour, but all vastly satisfying and it might even rot your teeth, but V/H/S/Halloween is proof that this is one annual ritual that deserves to be revisited year after year and be careful of any phallic shaped chocolates. There’s fun to be had, boys and girls! V/H/S/Halloween is now showing on Shudder.
WARNING: This episode contains spoliers!I cannot think of better way to start off October and the spooky season with the newest installment of the V/H/S Franchise because Halloween is approaching fast and therefore this is the perfect time. From what I understand, this is now the darkest and funniest entry yet and it remains a touchstone of the found footage sub-genre to this day.It was great to sit down with Lawson and to get the inside scoop of her role and the segment she stars in. I can tell by the passion that was emanating from her that she loves being an actress and I can also tell that she is very talented. With that being said, I am excited that I got to speak to her. This franchise has always been a favorite and a wonderous hit in the found-footage sub-genre and I cannot wait to see this movie in the theater because there’s fun to be had, boys and girls! V/H/S/Halloween hits theaters this Friday.
Often do I catch myself watching a movie about Dracula style vampires but the way they're depicted in 30 Days of Night are how I'd imagine vampires would be in real life- brutal and near indescribable killing machines. That premise being vampires being allowed to run berserk in Alaska during a 30-day period when there is no sun to force them into hibernation during the day. It’s simple yet fresh enough to maintain my interest. What an amazing and talented actress! Megan portrays one of the best female vampires in one of my favorite vampire movies. I’d like to brag about Megan’s talents and the ability to endure such a role; I am sure that it wasn’t easy to film a movie in just 33 days. But there is more! Megan talks about how much fun it was to play a vampire alongside Danny Huston and how much she enjoyed the makeup process. And for those that don’t know, 30 Days of Night was NOT filmed in the extreme cold of Barrow, Alaska, it was filmed in a hangar. The small town which you see in the movie was a set constructed in a hanger… Mind totally blown. To make the interview more interesting, Megan talked about the deleted/alternate scenes that did not make it in the final cut. However, I would have loved to have seen those deleted scenes. You can still watch this amazing vampire movie on Xumo Play, Google Play, Apple TV, YouTube, Amazon Prime, and Fandango at Home.
Howling II: Your Sister is a Werewolf picks up right after Joe Dante’s original The Howling but there’s no denying that this movie is a ruthless slice of low-fi gothic cult film making, making it a huge success. It’s not a film that everyone will love, but for those of you who enjoy unconventional cult classics, Howling II is a movie that may be right up your eccentric alley. After waiting almost an entire year to speak to her, I am excited to say that it was an absolute honor and pleasure to have spoken to the legendary actress herself and getting to know her on a more personal level. There was a lot to take in during this interview, but I must admit that I was intrigued the entire time. Knowing what kind of career Sybil Danning has built up for herself over the past four decades, you have to admire her. Afterall, she is essentially the Queen of Hollywood. No one could have played Stirba better than her in the film. The back history of the film, behind the scenes, what it was like to be on the same set as Christopher Lee; all this is spoken by her is priceless knowledge. You cannot label her as an amateur actress, but only as a legend who has seen and been through it all. More notably, as an actress who continues to reign the reels of Hollywood and I cannot wait to see more of her work on the big screen.
Descendant is an amazing film that is an incredibly intriguing dive into the complex emotions that come from fatherhood and the urge to both provide and protect one’s growing family. Obviously, it’s one of those movies that is full of question marks. The temptation here might be to interpret the plot a few different ways and then try to make sense of ending. Having to sit down and gain the insight from Alexandra about this movie was fun; asking her opinion about the film’s plot and to see if she believes whether ‘Sean” was actually abducted by aliens or did he have a mental breakdown. I guess it was the director’s intention to leave in the dark and come up with our own conclusion. Either way, this film is very confusing, but it also has it’s high points. I definitely recommend watching this movie if you’re into psychological horror. Descendent is now available to watch on Google Play Movies & TV, Apple TV, Fandango at Home, and Amazon Prime.
This series definitely reinvented the vampire sub-genre of horror; it’s a superb drama, fantasy, horror series by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. I loved its adamant vibe and atmosphere, its gruesome screenplay, its outstanding expansion and acting. One of the few series that truly combines science fiction and horror with a hell of a cast. It was an absolute pleasure to sit down and speak to Nikolai about his role as Ansel as he described from his point of view what it was like to act as a Strigoi in this riveting and thrilling series. I love how we get to witness his character slowly decline into the madness and watching the transformation process after one is infected. Every little detail he described is pure gold and that is me being honest; I mean, this show has grasped the essence of not being a traditional vampire story, but more into the deep history and lore of a different type of “vampire” I must admit that I love this version better. The Strain is STILL streaming on Hulu and I am certainly glad that it is… I cannot get enough of this show as I am about to watch the entire series again for the tenth time
Mindhunter is an absolutely riveting, addicting, and intellectually gripping series that redefines the crime drama genre. From the very first episode, it plunges you into a hauntingly realistic portrayal of the early days of criminal profiling at the FBI. The attention to detail, the slow-burn narrative, and the disturbingly accurate depictions of real-life serial killers make it one of the most intense and thought-provoking shows I’ve ever watched. What a phenomenal interview! Getting to know the details about his role as Jerry Brudos and the show, that kind of insight is priceless! As season one of the show progressed, so did the characters while discussing their crimes. Happy Anderson portraying Jerry Brudos is still one of my favorite sequences not only because of the nature of the sequence but the scenes are kind of light-hearted and comical. If you have not watched this show, please do… I highly recommend this series for nay true crime buff out there. With a 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes, that kind of tells you something. It’s still streaming on Netflix!
Demons, written and produced by the legendary Dario Argento comes a cult classic from the 1980s which has a badass soundtrack and it’s one of the most interesting and strange films of the era. It has cool visuals and a fun story that is easy to follow and all around, it’s a solid Italian horror film and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves the genre. The interview is a little spotty due to the poor internet connection with Bettina; she joined from her home in the Italian Countryside (which looks spectacular, by the way – and I am jealous) – but she had so much to say about the film, her role, and what it was like to work with the legendary Dario Argento.
The Conjuring returns in the fourth and final installment of the franchise and it feels like a natural continuation thanks to the return of Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as Ed and Lorraine Warren. After watching the movie last night, in my opinion, the movie is terrifying, emotional, thrilling, pure horror magic and it’s a must-see epic conclusion. Rebecca and I went into a deep conversation about her role in the movie, some behind the scenes secrets, and what it was like to film a movie based on a true haunting. What she had to say about all of that is justly remarkable. The details given in this interview explain a lot about the haunting and what actually happened. Brace yourselves for a phenomenal interview with gifted and wonderful Rebecca Calder as she delivered one of these best roles in The Conjuring Universe. In my humble and honest opinion, the ‘Smurl Case’ is the darkest in the series because in the 1980s the whole country was on edge with everything going on: serial killers, more hauntings being reported across the United States, The Berlin Wall, and much more. Senses were heightened and spirits are drawn to that.
From what I have read on the internet thus far, Traumatika is an emotional horror story that focuses on generational terror. It is said that her performance is paramount while being relentless in the approach and it’s not for the faint of heart. Due to being released on the 12th of this month, I cannot wait to see it. For those that are going to see it in the theater when it’s released, expect to have some type of emotional response due to the nature of the film because it does touch on real life issues about trauma and abuse. She is also starring in a movie called “Swipe” which is in post-production.
