Scared To Death

Dan starts with an alleged anonymous modern encounter involving a man hearing a girl’s voice as a child - a voice asking him to wake up, and a voice that keeps asking this for many, many years - well into adulthood. And then finally, something very strange happens that leaves him feeling certain that this voice did not just belong. Then, a tale that is about the mysterious and troubling disappearance of a young man who disappeared in the Idaho wilderness, not far from where Dan grew up, back in 2018.  Lynze takes us back to our childhoods with a creepy game of hide and seek. We are off to Dering Wood for our first creepy tale this week! Dan has a bizarre tale for us all. Then he takes us to Lake Shawnee to explore the old grounds of an abandoned amusement parl. Lynze discovers a new cryptid- the Fresno Nightcrawler! Yikes! Then we travel south to the swamps and bayous of Louisiana for a strange little story. Dan's first tale he is telling is about an anonymous woman allegedly encountering something terrifying in a stairwell. Then, in his second storey,  we learn about an allegedly cursed painting, The Crying Boy, produced by Italian artist Giovanni Bragolin. This painting was mass produced, and an alarming number of homes where prints of this painting have been displayed have burned down over the years. Yet the print itself almost never burns with them. Coincidence? Let's dig in. Lynze has some awesome fan submitted horror this week! The first is a classic road trip story that has a young couple spending the night in a creepy motel. Dan shares two stories. The first one is a big one. We’ll visit the Gunter Hotel in San Antonio, Texas. Did an infamous murder committed there in 1965 lead to the hotel gaining a reputation for being particularly haunted?  The history at the top of this tale is awesome!  Then, we’ll travel across the pond to Leeds, England and look into a claim that either a monster or someone who was just monstrous moved into a row house right after its tenants moved out in the 1940s, and began harassing the neighbors. Dan comes with his usual two stories this week. One bigger one, and then a little one. We’ve done a fair amount of haunted asylum stories here over the years, but few with as detailed of a backstory as today’s. We will start by learning about Henry Cotton - a truly mad doctor who worked at the New Jersey State Hospital at Trenton, now The Trenton Psychiatric Hospital. The we will explore if his ghost  now haunts the abandoned portions of this facility. Then, Dan dives into the creepy legend of a supposedly cursed doll named, Joliet. Has this doll been killing newborn babies for decades? Is this a family of Donna's? Let's find out. Then, Lynze has two really intense stories as well and she offers a warning at the top of the show for all parents- these are going to tug at your heartstrings. In her first story, she will share a story about a young child who drowns and nearly doesn't come back. But when she does, does she bring something, or someone, with her? Dan shares a most wild story of creepy Adobe Flash curse being passed around the internet. Then, Dan shares what is possibly a more disturbing tale from Bergen Norway of a Death Valley that holds much lore. Lynze has her standard two tales this week. Her first one is not that scary as you listen but then you see the picture take by the folks exploring this abandoned building and you will freak out. Dan's first story is a modern encounter story that fits into the Rules of Appalachia Lore. There are a bunch of stories that floated around on TikTok and Reddit the last few years regarding what kinds of strange creatures might be in the woods of Appalachia. His  second has to do with aa Baltimore, Maryland legend. Today’s story  it that of a teenage girl who met some sort of tragic end, and whose ghost now seems to be seeking revenge on the living. Lynze has two truly epic tales this week. Her first one will take you on a rollercoaster ride like no other. A haunted house that drives a family mad, in particular one person, who never returns to the safety of our world.
