Digital currencies [such as bitcoin] are highly volatile and not backed by any central bank or government. Digital currencies lack many of the regulations and consumer protections that legal-tender currencies and regulated securities have. Due to the high level of risk, investors should view digital currencies as a purely speculative instrument.
Cryptocurrency-related products carry a substantial level of risk and are not suitable for all investors. Investments in cryptocurrencies are relatively new, highly speculative, and may be subject to extreme price volatility, illiquidity, and increased risk of loss, including your entire investment in the fund. Spot markets on which cryptocurrencies trade are relatively new and largely unregulated, and therefore, may be more exposed to fraud and security breaches than established, regulated exchanges for other financial assets or instruments. Some cryptocurrency-related products use futures contracts to attempt to duplicate the performance of an investment in cryptocurrency, which may result in unpredictable pricing, higher transaction costs, and performance that fails to track the price of the reference cryptocurrency as intended. Please read more about risks of trading cryptocurrency futures here.
Fixed income securities are subject to increased loss of principal during periods of rising interest rates.
ROTFLMFAO! 3:30 What compilation of data does Kevin base his conclusion on? Guess only one externality exists that can influence the cost of imports nowadays? Odd, I remember the not so long ago days of recent inflation, had nothing to do with that one externality. How does Kevin square that? Bet there's a canned response prepared somewhere? Good to see the recent outperformance of small businesses though? Isn't it?
3:25 President Trump has replenished the US SPR after the autopen handlers admin., depleted it to the bottom sludge, in an effort of securing their #dimocrat comrades election?
Restricting interest rates to less than 10% by decree will likely raise the floor on credit scores for riskier borrowers as loan loss provisions are built into those rates.
1:03 to 1:14 edit? Odd that if there is enough concern to repeat the words for who knows, whatever reason that there would possibly also be enough professionalism to proof and edit before sending the finished product out? Merry Thanksgiving!
@3:45 we all can only wish the Unaffordable Care Act premiums were expiring. No, as codified into law by dimocrats, when they had full control of US gubmit, taxpayer sponsored grants to subsidize consumer costs for these dimocrat mandated overpriced and design flawed unsustainable corporate crony handout plans is what is expiring by law.
Vix up futures down, incoming!
@2:50 the Fed has been given bad data on which to base their decisions for quite sometime. The revisions were always the more accurate number and at times in the complete opposite trending direction. So pretending a new lack of an already flawed data point is somehow an impediment to their process, might be considered a smidge disingenuous.
The Fed uses gubmit data in its decision making process? Perhaps that is why some of their decisions seemed less than data driven on the face, as most folks knew the more accurate numbers were reflected in the later revisions. Me thinks there might be just a smidge of TDS bias out of the Fed as well.
@9:45 H-1B $100,000 fees will likely do little to deter big techs practice of eliminating qualified US labor jobs, in favour of cheaper imported slave labour, unless the term of the visa is reduced. The current term is 3 yrs. of which a company executive can easily amortize over that time in exchange for a 24 hour daily indentured servant. This practice over well qualified, albeit more expensive domestic labour. In some cases with a CoC, employers will have tax advantages on these imports as wel
It's all of the green and lack of red on the screen that'll cause the orange hue to distort.
@1:20 wonder if he'll mention some of the flawed data that he's been forced work with? Someone quite eeeeeeeevil and very orange, albeit disputably fading, is working at stopping #CookTheBooks. Powell has done a decent job bringing rates closer to norms, although the inexplicable cut, against the data, before the last election did let a political bias slip. His problem has always been the 2 irresponsible clown show freaks, who likely of ill intent, held the chair prior to his tenure.
I thought Fed member, Lisa Cook had engaged in mortgage fraud? I'm not sure policy differences should be the main focus for someone operating at the Fed Board level given the ethics concerns involved. Independent or not this has become a problem for the Fed. It would cause great unease in thinking that someone operating at that level, with those types of ethics lapses, would be tolerated to continue guiding policy within the Schwab organisation. I certainly hope you all could also agree.
Wasn't the call for Lisa Cook to resign from the Fed board actually over her committing mortgage fraud and not over policy issues? You should provide complete and accurate context when reporting, otherwise some might just consider this as a thinly veiled activist political shill podcast with an agenda. Mortgage fraud is a big thing with these pols as it is methodology employed by the party to launder public funds for recycle into their dark money coffers.
Interest rates are now more consistent with historical norms. The oddity was ZIRP over the last 2 decades in ensnaring gubmits and all borrowers to feed the reset. In a normal economy rates such as those of today, 1990s, 1960s, 1950s, etc., are required to encourage a healthy societal savings ethic and discourage irrational use of and moral hazard in the deployment of capital. I exclude the 1970s and 80s rate environment due to the distortion of exiting the gold standard due to LBJ caused default
Judy Shelton for Fed reserve chair, if thereust be one.
@clickety clack, very professional cut🤣! Well done edit 🤡! Barely noticed 😂! Job One, Howbout focus just reading the newz?
Positive revisions in jobs reports seems be breaking with the most recent past years trend of posting numerous negative revisions after the much ballyhooed favorable headline number has faded. Still troubling is the extent of state and local government jobs contributing to this report albeit the bureaucracy bloat at the federal level appears to have temporarily subsided. Perhaps the current administration has abandoned the prior cabals policy propensity to #CookTheBooks
@2:50 framing the President and "some economists" (I'm guessing the vision employing the "some economists" verbage is meant to conjure the thought as "fringe") as daring to think interest rate adjustment does influence consumer economic behaviour. This would surprise the likes of former fed chair Paul Volker who broke the back of 1970's inflation, caused by LBJ's insane political spending of the 60's, by manipulating .... you guessed it, INTEREST RATES. please do attempt to be less political.
Powell wonders who will pay for tariffs? Will it be a pass through like most corporate expenses? I'm quite amused at his sudden new found attention to the minute cogs of the economy, especially since guys like him have enabled the destruction of work and saving through facilitating insane political spending leading to currency destruction.
Is the "strong" US bond demand from the FED recent purchases on the secondary market? Yes this would create the illusion of demand at terms. Is it now official policy to hold bond rates down through printing of currency to purchase bonds? This is the end game reset everyone has been awaiting. Attempting to hold bond rates in check via inflation. When this too fails, what's left? I guess the pols could cut spending....
