A Severance (not Twin Peaks) podcast. The creators of Damn Fine TV and Talking Backwards offer a unique exploration into the surreal and sinister world of the Apple TV+ series Severance, while weaving in plenty of Twin Peaks connections, theories, and absurd humor along the way. Burt and Irv’s tragic (and needless?) goodbye. The unsettling implications of a pregnant woman being “one of Jame’s.” Milchick’s incredible clapback. And the irony of Helly (Eagan) R being the last one … stomping … around the Severed floor. Plus, eggs!YouTube: youtube.com/@SeverancePeaks

Severance, season 2 episode 8, “Sweet Vitriol” was a slightly divisive episode for the gang at Severance Peaks. We all wanted more Co(w)bel, but was this an intriguing and resonant enough way to deliver that? We do all agree that what we learned about Harmony was hugely important, that the cinematography remains beautiful, and that Patricia Arquette’s performance was nothing to throw a water bottle at. It’s also a big week for 8 Watch (sorry Jeff), and Dave cooks up a brand new segment!YouTube: youtube.com/@SeverancePeaks
Jay, Mells, Pat, and Tyler chat all about Severance, season 2 episode 8, "Sweet Vitriol" on this week's Severance Peaks Live! The gang discusses Cobel's motives, ulterior and otherwise. Are we seeing a redemption arc of sorts for Cobel? Is she fully against the Eagans/Lumon? Might she be the person on the other end of Irv's phone calls? And could this possible team up with Mark and Devon be to her detriment? Plus, we try to do some math, with varying results.

Mark is journeying, as they say, and we are stoked to be along for the mind-bending ride that is Severance, season 2 episode 7, “Chikhai Bardo.” This ‘sode was full of reveals, finally giving us more details on Gemma’s past and present. And yet, with every reveal, more questions were cleverly presented. All of this while keeping us rooted in Mark’s reintegration process, and delivered via one of the most visually stunning hours of television we’ve ever seen. Wow kazow, Severance, wow kazow.YouTube: youtube.com/@SeverancePeaks

Come join us in our makeshift plastic fortbo, for a chat about Severance, season 2 episode 6, "Attila." We debate the possibility that Burt is (still) working for Lumon, and what that might mean for Irv. We discuss the very blurry lines of consent when it comes to Innies and Outies and sexual activity. We marvel over REghabi's passion for REintegration. We speculate on the meaning of Wintertide, and much more! Plus, pepper grinders!YouTube: youtube.com/@SeverancePeaks
Jay, Patrick, and Tyler went live to chat all about Severance, season 2 episode 6, "Attila" on this week's Severance Peaks Live! We question the motives of all involved in the ham dinner throuple, the meaning behind Helena's use of the name "Hanna," and whether or not a pregnancy storyline with Helly is the right direction for the show to take. Plus, we share a ton of great comments and questions from the Live chat our Instagram followers - thanks for your input, friends and lovers! YouTube: youtube.com/@SeverancePeaks

Eggnog might be out of season, but watching a show and talking about it? That’s always in stock for Severance Peaks. And this week we’re talking all about Severance, season 2 episode 5, “Trojan’s Horse.” We dive into the masterclass in petty corporate gaslighting that was Milchick’s performance review, lament over the lack of love shown to Irv B despite his affections index being so high, we sympathize with Mark S as he navigates the Helly/Helena reveal, and we’re as delighted as Mr Drummond to see what Milchick meant by “tightening the leash” during *that* spicy elevator scene.Crazy Stupid Podcast - https://youtu.be/zfCUgAyW-_o?si=DSmN6WmBqqOjJlxM Seinpeaks - https://seinpeaks.podbean.com/ YouTube: youtube.com/@SeverancePeaks
Jay and Patrick share their initial thoughts and feelings on Severance, season 2 episode 5, "Trojan's Horse" on this week's Severance Peaks Live! We chat Kiertans, that spicy elevator scene, Lumon's continued mistreatment of Milchick, Mark's reinteglitches, and Irv and Burt's reunion (ham dinner throuple, anyone?) No point burying the lead here, friends and lovers, Ben Stiller joins us for this week’s ‘sode of Severance Peaks!Yep, Fast Eddie himself stops by for a chat about Severance, season 2 episode 4, “Woe’s Hollow.” He shares insights from his time directing this very episode, as well as some overall experiences from making the show. Of course, the conversation eventually leads to Twin Peaks and David Lynch, and Ben even rates the ‘sode for our MMM segment! Before Ben arrives, we dig into Irv’s eerie dream/vision, the grossness of Helena’s actions, the parallels between Kier’s books and the Ricken word, those powerhouse performances in the final sequence, and finally, we wonder, was the ORTBO manufactured for a purpose? And if so, by whom?YouTube: youtube.com/@SeverancePeaks
Doppelgangers, an ominous forest, waterfalls, and a mysterious cave ... Severance got pretty darn Twin Peaks-y in season 2 episode 4, "Woe's Hollow" and we can't wait to share our initial thoughts about it, on this week’s Severance Peaks Live!

Episode 14: Who is Alive?

You shouldn’t believe everything your computer tells you, but believe this, the goats are not what they seem. And that’s mostly because we have no idea what they even mean, but we’re almost certain there’s a mystery underneath that mystery. Yes, things get pretty wrinkly this week as we discuss the many layers of Severance, in general, but through the lens of season 2 episode 3, “Who is Alive?” We explore the goat room and the goat people at length, we do our best to tackle the blatant ignorance and mind games of Milchick’s “gift” from Lumon, we note that throuples really are in the zeitgeist, we get fired up about traffic laws, and we, of course, we discuss the REturn of REghabi and the quickness with which we have reached REintegration. YouTube: youtube.com/@SeverancePeaks
Let Kier guide your hand right to that play button, dearest friends and lovers, it’s time for another ‘sode of Severance Peaks! This week we’re chatting all about season 2, episode 2, “Goodbye, Mrs. Selvig.” We discuss the parallels and divergences between the Innies and Outies, share our ever growing love for Devon, speculate on what Helena’s true intentions might be, and continue to wonder about the mysteries surrounding Gemma’s death - and why her and Mark seem so integral to Lumon’s bigger picture. Plus, we take some time to break down the amazing new title sequence, and explore some of the potential themes and messages hidden within.
