Hii! WELCOME BACK! We apologize for our ~short hiatus~. We had a video file COMPLETELY corrupt and destroy an entire video :( This week on SYS we are diving into the Rise & Demise of Kylie Cosmetics, and the entirety of the Kardashian/Jenner brand. 5 years ago, the name "Kylie Jenner" was synonymous with internet fame. Every product she used, song she listened to, or food she ate instantly turned to gold. Yet in 2024, every single business she has is struggling. In fact, Kylie Costmetics has seen a decrease in revenue every year for the past 7 years... When did the "magic" of Kylie die? Was it replaced by someone else? Is there any way to get it back? We answer all of these questions and more in this episode of Share Your Screen. Infamous Podcast on Kylie Jenner w/ Forbes Reporter: https://open.spotify.com/episode/1bO9...
Happy 'Eternal Sunshine' Day! In honor of Ariana Grande's new album premiering today, we are diving into one part of her business that no one ever talks about but has generated $1 billion in sales (according to Vogue). **THIS EPISODE IS 95% SPOILER FREE** (minor details discussed but no major plot lines revealed) Welcome back to the SYS podcast! This week we are diving into the world of Dune 2, and why we believe it to be one of the greatest sci-fi stories ever told. Great story telling always boils down to one thing. "How are you able to connect with an audience?" The magic of Dune is exactly that. It is a story filled with symbolism and metaphor to mirror our modern age. Dune is filled with political conflict, battles over commerce and resources, impacts of religion & technology, and so much more. The movies are an absolute masterpiece. However, the world is so expansive and deep that they left a LOT of information out from the books. The purpose of this video is to fill that gap and give a better understanding of the dune world to have a greater appreciation for the film FOLLOW US ON YOUTUBE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiMEWagQVMw #Dune2 #dunemovie #timotheechalamet #zendaya
Did you know that Coachella lost so much money its first year that they couldn’t afford to do it a second year? Today we are diving into the history of Coachella aka the most talked about music festival for the past 20 years. They are a great example that in order to be “popular” you have to be willing to be “polarizing”. Hello Beautiful, This week we wanted to discuss the concept of Creativity vs Commodity in Marketing. From Lana Del Rey for SKIMS, to Beyonce Superbowl, to the Hailey Bieber Rhode phone case-- so much of success is centered around being data driven. However, time and time again we see creativity and art is what really pushes the needle of internet culture. There have been so many fascinating campaigns lately it felt like the perfect time to go through them all and analyze why they went viral. 25 years ago the music industry was in a crisis. Every year for 16 years the music as a businesses was losing more and more money. Until one day a company called Spotify came around and changed that forever. The invention of music streaming built a bridge between artists and fan the likes of which we had never seen, and in 2024 the music industry is the biggest it's ever been. We sat down with Sulinna Ong, The Head of Editorial at Spotify, to learn exactly how this happened. She explained how her team discovers new artists, curates Spotify's editorial playlists, and responds to Artist's pitches. This was our first guest episode and we could not be more excited about it <3
Today's episode is about the rise of Tate McRae and how she is anything BUT an "industry plant". From dancer, to youtube singer to next pop star -- Tate McRae's story is one of hustling. 2024-01-2245:43

HAPPY 2024 WE MISSED YOU ALL!!!Sorry for our short 2 week hiatus, but we are back to weekly uploads for the rest of the year.Today's episode is the Renee Rapp effect. Her story is a beautiful one because she is living proof that your direction is more important than your speed. Renee has always had this north star in her career, music, and her relentless pursuit of that dream. The first step of your career does not have to look like the last step. No matter how small the step, or how big the setback, Renee always kept moving in the direction she knew she was meant to.
Welcome back to part 2 of "that was not on my 2023 BINGO card" and our FIRST episode of the new year!!! 🤪 Thank you all so much for the recent love and support and we could NOT be more excited to get back in the studio and start filming. 2023 was a year riddled with MANY firsts for the industry, some good and some bad, but I truly believe 2024 has the potneital to be a year that goes down to define music, movies, and internet culture for the next decade. We thought it would be fun to make a game out of it, and have 2 separate BINGO cards full of predictions. Throughout the rest of the year, any time a prediction comes true, we will mention it in the episode and discuss how we think it is going to come to life. Make your 2024 BINGO card predictions with us and see if you can beat us this year ;) Link: https://www.canva.com/design/DAF2tXDD... VIDEO VERSION: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qh8SgN4q-xk
How many times did you say, "Wow, that was not on my 2023 bingo card" this year? We said it a couple times. From the TikTok senate hearing, to the Taylor Swift and Ice Spice collab, to Gwenyth Paltrow accidentally becoming relatable and Lizzo having the opposite problem. This was a weird year to be a celebrity. Enjoy the second to last episode of #ShareYourScreen of the year. Check back next Monday for our 2024 pop culture and marketing predictions. Welcome back to Part 2 from our last video "The Sabrina Carpenter Effect" where we discussed the concept of overnight fame vs slow burns. Olivia Rodrigo is the perfect example of how sometimes you just have your moment, and your life can COMPLETELY change over night. We loved looking into the careers of these artists because it truIy proves there is no "right or wrong" path to success. We walk the path we are meant to, and it is beautiful to see how both of their careers have flourished over the past few years. It feels like just about every new release to come out of Hollywood in the past year has been some sort of "nostalgia-bait". When I was a teenager over a decade ago, we were enjoying things like Hunger Games, Mario, HSM, Gossip Girl, etc. Yet 10 years later, that is STILL all that is being released. It seems as if the industry has sacrificed this idea of creativity, originality and fostering new IP to ONLY greenlight projects when they are tied to a previously existing franchise. Nostalgia Marketing is something that has existed for a long time, but why has it become so rampant over the last 2 years? Well that is exactly what we set out to discover today.
Did you know that Rachel Zegler originally turned down the role of Lucy Gray Baird in the 'Hunger Games'? This movie is filled with fascinating behind-the-scenes details and lore, which we dive into on this episode of #ShareYourScreen with Nicky Reardon and Coco Mocoe! In this episode, we discuss: 1. Coco's reaction to Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes movie 2. Alma Coin + President Snow Theory 3. Rachel Zegler's previous tweets about the Hunger Games franchise 4. How they cast Tom Blyth as Coriolanus Snow + Rachel Zegler as Lucy Gray Baird 5. Why she initially turned down the role 6. Rachel's past rejections before her big break 7. Jacob Elordi vs. Rachel Zegler hate for "I need a job" comments 8. Jacob Elordi vs. Austin Butler 'Elvis' potrayals 9. Hi! I hope you enjoyed todays episode. It was a lot of fun to do the research and compile all the history of Youtube and its timeline as a platform. I have such love for the platform and I genuinely believe it has so much impact and has the potential to do good for the world when used correctly. There are SO many amazing Creators over the span of 2008-2023 it would have been impossible to have documented them all so I decided to hone in on the ones I felt most nostalgic about and meant the most to me personally. Please give us a rating to help us in the rankings and drop a sub for more internet culture deep dives<3 Love ya, Nicky and Coco Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@NickyandCoco/videos IG/TikTok: @nicky.reardon @cocomocoe
