We don’t often picture the little girl with a busy brain and loves to talk. For years, girls were overlooked in the research for ADHD. This resulted in a misunderstanding of their need for support. Getting these amazing girls the right treatment as early as possible is paramount for their success. In this episode, we are interviewing Stephen Hinshaw, an expert on ADHD in girls. He shares a summary of a twenty-five-year research study and how to support these amazing girls! MEET STEPHEN HINSHAWStephen Hinshaw is a Distinguished Professor of Psychology at UC Berkeley and Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UC San Francisco. His research focuses on ADHD (especially in girls and women), self-harm, clinical interventions, and stigma reduction. He has authored over 420 articles and chapters, plus 12 books.
