On today's episode, Dennis is joined again by former Force Recon Marine, DoD Contractor with eight deployments to Afghanistan, Author, Pro MMA Champion and Founder of Mighty Oaks Foundation, Chad Robichaux. Chad is a former Force Recon Marine and DoD Contractor with eight deployments to Afghanistan as part of a Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) Task Force. After overcoming his personal battles with PTSd and nearly becoming a veteran suicide statistic, Chad founded the Mighty Oaks Foundation, a leading non-profit, serving the active duty, military veteran and first responder communities around the world with highly successful faith-based combat trauma and resiliency programs. Having spoken to over 400,000 active-duty troops and led life-saving programs for over 4,500 active military and veterans at four Mighty Oaks Ranches around the Nation, Chad has become a go-to resource and is considered a subject matter expert on faith-based solutions to PTSd, having advised the former Presidential Administration, Congress, the VA, the DoD, and was appointed to serve as the Chairman of a White House Veterans Coalition. Chad is also the Co-Founder of Save Our Allies, a non-profit that’s mission is focused on the evacuation and recovery of Americans, our allies and vulnerable people trapped in Afghanistan. Save Our Allies began as a personal quest for Chad, as he set out to rescue his long-time friend and Afghanistan interpreter, but the mission quickly evolved because of Chad’s compassion for people and his servant heart. Since its inception, Save Our Allies has safely evacuated over 17,000 people that were trapped in Afghanistan and is now helping in Ukraine. Chad is a bestselling author and has written a number of books related to veteran care and overcoming life’s challenges, donating over 250,000 copies to the troops during his resiliency speaking tours. He is regularly featured on national media outlets and his story was notably shared in a short film by I Am Second and the documentary, Never Fight Alone. Currently, a life-story motion picture movie is being produced based on Chad’s #1 best-selling book, An Unfair Advantage. Today, Dennis and Chad discuss managing and coping with guilt, helping others, building an impactful business to help safe lives, building your legacy, the conflict in Israel, focusing on what’s important and making an impact. On today's episode, Dennis speaks with RET police helicopter pilot and host of The Hangar Z Podcast, Jon Gray and State Trooper & Fixed-Wing Aircraft Pilot, Matt Szluka Jon's bio: Hangar Z podcast founder and host, Jon Gray, is a Southern California native and second-generation police officer. Jon’s interest in public safety aviation began in childhood where he was exposed to tactical flight via the Anaheim Police Department’s Angel program. His father, a 32-year veteran of the Anaheim Police Department, encouraged this interest, and it eventually led him to pursue a career in public safety aviation. He is currently a helicopter pilot with the Ontario Police Department in Ontario, California. After graduating college with a bachelor's degree in Sociology, Jon was hired by San Diego PD as a police officer. At San Diego PD Jon was assigned to Southern Division Patrol and the Border Crime Suppression Team. He later transferred to the Ontario Police Department where he worked patrol, was assigned to the Community Oriented Policing Unit as a graffiti and gang investigator, and served collaterally as a hostage negotiator. After nine years in the field, Jon was selected to become a part-time tactical flight officer in the air support unit. He was then selected to become a full-time tactical flight officer and was ultimately promoted to pilot in 2017. Jon medically retired in May 2023. During his hour plus commute to work Jon would listen to podcasts to pass the time. It wasn’t long before he noticed a void in the podcast segment that represented and promoted public safety aviation. To fill that void, Jon started the Hangar Z Podcast in August of 2020. Today, Dennis, Jon and Matt discuss continual effort to learn and progress in the field, passion for proactivity and interdiction, importance of aviation policing, night vision, infrared and LPR technology, employing aviation in modern day policing, things to consider when Developing an aviation unit and how drones have impacted law enforcement surveillance. On today's episode, Dennis speaks with 18+ year active duty LT and host of "The Squad Room" podcast, Garrett TeSlaa. Garrett's bio: My name is Garrett TeSlaa, and I am the creator and founder of The Squad Room. In 2015, I was a few years into being a sergeant for a sheriff’s office in Southern California. I was struggling with rotating shifts, poor sleep and horrible nutrition habits. I was also recovering from a mountain bike crash that should have killed me and everything, along with several duty-related injuries began to drag me down physically, mentally and emotionally. I was in a bad spot.  I began searching for answers and seeking out experts in hopes that I could solve what I thought was a unique situation. I began to share what I was learning during briefings with my patrol partners and things got interesting. Try preaching the benefits of meditation to a roomful of veteran cops! But what actually happened was surprising. Every time I opened up, someone would pull me aside in private and share their story of struggle, or ask for more information, or thank me for helping them understand why they were feeling “that” way. With this new knowledge that I was not alone in these struggles, and that others were facing their own real dangers, I started The Squad Room in hopes that it would give something back to this profession that I love so much. Today, Dennis and Garrett discuss being the right kind of leader, building your trust, the differences between Management, leadership and supervision, choosing to become a better human being, asking for help when you need it, being present with and for your kids and the future of digital products in the academy. On today's episode, Dennis speaks with Founder of The Lady Law Shield and Protective Wellness, Bridget Truxillo. Bridget knows the challenges law enforcement officers face, both outside and inside their agencies based on her experiences as a former Deputy Sheriff in Gainesville, Alachua County, Florida. Bridget started out in Patrol, but very quickly transferred to the  Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit (NOCU), and also became the only female member of  the SWAT team. During her time in the NOCU, Bridget routinely conducted undercover buys of narcotics and effectuated many arrest and search warrants as a result of her undercover operations. While on the SWAT team, Bridget participated in serving search warrants, active shooter and hostage situations, competed twice in SWAT Round-up International  (an International SWAT competition), as well as many hundreds of hours of training. Although being a Deputy Sheriff allowed Bridget to serve the public, Bridget realized she wanted to find a way to serve the law enforcement and first responder community directly so she left law enforcement to attend law school as a means to glean the knowledge and skills necessary for this purpose. After 13+ years practicing law in civil litigation, Bridget was able to curate a unique business dedicated to representing and supporting law enforcement officers and first responders. Today, Bridget and Dennis discuss tips for woman in law enforcement, importance of departments looking out for their men and women, seeing, validating and hearing your fellow co-workers, not taking things personal, legal advise and not controlling the nature of the job. To clarify, vehicle vs. car and automobile have different meanings in law. The commercial aspect is important to not violate the supreme law.
