Mike O'Sullivan - Devil's Due Editor interview This was recorded 12th November 2023 as a web-chat with video on - it is for the most part just talking heads so audio only is possibly the way to go. As normal - the audio only version has more editing & clean up. The YouTube version is here: https://youtu.be/7rJUFQ-FF2o Mike was Editor for much of the 2nd half of the Devil’s Due era, joining as associate editor from #37 and overseeing the books though to the end of WWIII, writing several and even suppling some art. This deep dive interview talks about his childhood Joe fandom, landing the dream gig of GI Joe editor, writing for Joe, the dynamics of working with Hasbro*, what would have happened if the book had continued past the WWIII arc. We also take a detour to explore his current work at Marvel working on their archive for reprints and on the Marvel Handbook. It is a long chat, but a lot of fun and a real insight into the America's Elite era. G.I. Joe should be a book about "a group of friends who go on adventures together" Editing (one way or another) credits include: G.I. Joe #37-43; G.I. Joe: America's Elite #0-up; G.I. Joe: Data Desk Handbook; G.I. Joe: Declassified; G.I. Joe: Master & Apprentice II #1-4; G.I. Joe Special Missions: Manhattan; G.I. Joe: The Hunt for Cobra Commander; G.I. Joe VS. Transformers (vol III) #1-5; Sigma 6 #1-6; Snake-Eyes: Declassified #1-6; the trade paperbacks of most of these, and a bunch of other stuff Writing credits include Scarlett; Declassified, Data Desk Handbook, G.I. Joe: The Hunt for Cobra Commander, short stories in the Red Shadows trade paperback, GI Joe Americas Elite 19-20 and Special Missions: series.
