When Waylon Jennings offers Jeremy an opening slot on his tour, he jumps at the opportunity. However, he gets kicked off the tour bus after 30 minutes. The good news is that before he gets tossed, Waylon rechristens Jeremy "Uncle Drank." From there he is off to the races, writing more songs in Florida and engaging in payola to get them on the radio. His songs becomes minor hits and Drank's popularity begins to rise. But, when Waylon Jennings’ legal team decides to sue Uncle Drank for some songwriting royalties, Hayseed wonders if his career will survive the lawsuit

With his fame growing, his wife's disappearing and his song "Hillbilly Hall of Fame" charting- Uncle Drank is on his way. Until a late night arrest lands him in jail where his longtime drummer Barney bails him out. And then he decides to release a single for charity…
With two new mouths to feed and his restaurant empire in trouble, Uncle Drank’s song “Biggest Dock on the Lake” becomes a hit in a Stallone movie. After revisiting his old favorite bar, he meets wife #3 - the “Kris Kardashain of Country Music” - a woman named Betty Dakari. After hearing her perform, he proposes and they hit the road together on tour. However, when it turns out that Uncle Drank accidentally left his underaged boys at home without supervision, the FBI tracks him down and sends him back to Florida. Luckily, he writes his hit song “Third Wife’s a Charm” and gets back on tour… this time opening for the Grateful Dead.
Uncle Drank’s new album, the experimental “Human Foot” comes out and is a massive flop. With mouths to feed and a restaurant to save, the label releases a Greatest Hits package that puts Drank back on top… but he begins to plan his escape from the music biz. A psychedelic trip to Joshua Tree opens his mind and he composes what he considers his “Pet Sounds.” The label is interested. All of this takes place before Suge Knight dangles Uncle Drank over a hotel balcony and threatens to drop him unless he signs over his publishing rights. Will Drank survive?
