In this episode we go through some of the background and details of the facts alleged in the Faith Stowers Vanderpump Rules lawsuit. We had to stop early due to our schedules and Texas weather, so we will get the second part out for you as soon as possible with a discussion of the legal claims, what we know from a potentially very similar contract to the one Faith discusses in her lawsuit, and more. In this three part series, we are covering a lawsuit Erika's former costume designer filed against her, the secret service, her assistants, and American Express. We think the complaint gives the best overview of what occurred (excerpt below) so in this episode we read through the second half of it and provide our thoughts. This case discusses alleged corruption by Secret Service agents who conspired with Defendant Erika Girardi, a well-known television personality and theatrical performer, her assistants and employees, Defendant Laia Ribatallada and Defendant Michael Minden, Defendant AMEX, and its employee, Defendant Peter Grimm. It is alleged that all Defendants agreed and conspired to maliciously prosecute Chris Psaila for alleged wire fraud and identity theft by claiming Chris Psaila defrauded Erika Girardi by charging her AMEX card with false charges for goods and services under his business Marco Marco.Access additional content and our Patreon here: https://zez.am/thebravodocketThe Bravo Docket podcast, the statements we make whether in our own media or elsewhere, and any content we post are for entertainment purposes only and do not provide legal advice. We are doing something different today and interviewing a member of our legal team, Monica Nguyen. Monica is a Deputy Public Defender that specializes in competency and has been working solely in mental health for 15 years. Monica digs into the court's decision on Tom Girardi's competency and provides her opinion, based on her experience, of the decision and what the court could have addressed further. Monica can be found on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/mentalhealthlawyer/ As an initial note, this is not at all to defend what Tom did, but rather is an opportunity to consider the order from a different perspective with an attorney who is experienced in the subject matter. This is not our practice area so when we can rely on members of the legal team who do practice in the area, we want them to share. This is a continuation of our breakdown of the Court's 50+ page order finding that Tom Girardi is competent to stand trial. We get into what the Judge focused on from the evidence presented by both sides and why she ultimately found he is competent.Access additional content and our Patreon here: https://zez.am/thebravodocketThe Bravo Docket podcast, the statements we make whether in our own media or elsewhere, and any content we post are for entertainment purposes only and do not provide legal advice. We have all have been asking for years when Girardi is going to face criminal charges and we finally have the answer. The federal court issued a detailed and at times shocking order with receipts, proof, and a detailed timeline starting with the 2017 auto accident that Erika first spoke about on RHOBH. We discuss it in detail in part 1 of this two part series.Access additional content and our Patreon here: https://zez.am/thebravodocketThe Bravo Docket podcast, the statements we make whether in our own media or elsewhere, and any content we post are for entertainment purposes only and do not provide legal advice. Picture this: it was early 2021, we had just released our first podcast episode and were trying to learn how to market our newly minted Instagram account. We searched for other creators to connect with and found an account that had shared headline making, leaked audio of Jen Shah. This was pre-arrest so it was the only Jen "tea" that was out at the time. This account had 2000+ followers and counting then, but it seemed like they had an in or were incredibly good at finding sources. We added them to stay on top of the news. But shortly after, Jen was arrested and the tone shifted as the account's goal seemed to be to completely take down Jen. Our content soon appeared on their page. We exchanged some DMs. The account then fledged a full blown war on Jen. This was Reality Von Tease and this is our breakdown of our interactions, the timeline, the receipts, the proof, the evidence, and our thoughts on it all.Access additional content and our Patreon here: https://zez.am/thebravodocketThe Bravo Docket podcast, the statements we make whether in our own media or elsewhere, and any content we post are for entertainment purposes only and do not provide legal advice. After consuming a higher than average amount of reality television this weekend, I saw examples of surrogacy and got to thinking about the laws in place to protect surrogates and parents. This week's legal brief looks at the laws specifically in California surrounding surrogacy and what all parties involved should consider before pursuing that role or avenue. I am not barred in California but was drawn to discuss surrogacy because recent examples of surrogacy I have seen on TV have occurred in California. Information from this episode was pulled from various websites summarizing California law. With the release of Britney’s memoir came a reignited discussion of her custody battles and her conservatorship which we are here to discuss in depth. Months could be spent on everything filed and more time could be spent on how this went so wrong and how this was allowed to happen. We provide thoughts on Britney’s memoir, analyze her custody battle, and dive into notable filings in her drawn out conservatorship. This is the first episode of the deep dive I recommended. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6CGuHwWDFsAccess our Patreon, Instagram, Website, YouTube, and more here: https://linktr.ee/thebravodocket The Bravo Docket podcast, the statements we make whether in our own media or elsewhere, and any content we post are for entertainment purposes only and do not provide legal advice. We're picking up where we left off - answering what it means to be found competent to stand trial. This episode focuses on the arguments Tom's defense counsel made on why he should be found incompetent to stand trial and we get into the difference between competency and the insanity defense, with references to Mob Wives, the Sopranos, a few serial killers and an insanity defense that actually worked for Lorena Bobbitt. As mentioned in the episode, we are hosting a meet-up on Saturday, November 4 at 6pm in Las Vegas, Bravo-Con weekend. What does it mean to be found competent to stand trial? We are here to explain everything about competency in the context of Tom Girardi. Earlier this year, Tom Girardi was indicted on federal criminal charges in two separate districts. But the cases are at a stand still while the court determines whether Tom Girardi is competent to stand trial. In this first part of a two-part competency discussion we lay the ground work of how we got here in Tom's cases. We cover his conservatorship and lay the legal groundwork for what it means to be found competent, how it works, and how it will work with Tom.As mentioned in the episode, we are hosting a meet-up on Saturday, November 4 at 6pm in Las Vegas, Bravo-Con weekend. This is a re-release of an episode we first aired in April 2021 but with Mary back on SLC, it's a fitting time to listen again. In this episode we do our best to give you an overview of the long and sordid litigation history of Mama Cosby’s Probate Estate – including accusations of foul play resulting in the exhumation of a body, allegations of forged signatures that go up to the Utah Supreme Court, a jury trial with a million dollar verdict, and how preachers can have 5 homes and 2 private planes and zero audits. The Bravo Docket podcast, the statements we make whether in our own media or elsewhere, and any content we post are for entertainment purposes only and do not provide legal advice.
