How different would things be if other Republicans had stood up to MAGA like the way Kemp did for Fani Willis? Plus, Ted Cruz tried on beer-swilling tough guy, Candace sampled the Trump playbook, and the BS behind the political consultant game. Tim Miller joins Charlie Sykes for the long weekend pod.
Giuliani is going to pay $$$$ for defaming Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss—and Trump may too, for his financial statements in New York. Meanwhile, ex-POTUS faces a criminal trial before the RNC, and Mark Meadows sounded wishy-washy in Georgia. Ben Wittes and Anna Bower join Charlie Sykes for The Trump Trials.

Does cynical Nikki Haley have the guts to run an edgier campaign? Plus, Vivek's Hermain Cain moment, Iowa's unpredictable caucus voters, and the denialism about Grandpa Joe. Mike Murphy joins Charlie Sykes today.
From Trump's court calendar to concerns about Biden's age, we may be underestimating how bad next year could be. Plus, Mark Meadows' dubious claims about Georgia, Vivek and the show, lefty book bans, and the MAGA mob effort to blackmail us out of a constitutional republic. David French joins Charlie Sykes.
The new hotness, Ramaswamy, is serving up a load of bull. Plus, the risks of our political gerontocracy, the mug shot heard 'round the world, and of course, most GOP presidential candidates would vote for a convicted felon before Biden. Will Saletan is back with Charlie Sykes for Charlie and Will Monday.
We were always going to get this first-of-its-kind presidential portrait. What else would you expect from a con man and a criminal? But this is all because of the choices Trump made, and because the party has refused to take every single off-ramp. Tim Miller joins Charlie Sykes for the weekend pod.
At Wednesday's debate, Ramaswamy touched all the MAGA erogenous zones, Haley had a great night while Tim Scott did not, and DeSantis seemed to shrink even more. But as the debate audience made clear, no one can say bad things about the No. 1 guy's crimes. A.B. Stoddard joins Charlie Sykes.
Almost nothing concentrates the mind more than an indictment, so expect other minor players in Trumpland—especially in Georgia—to flip on the don. Plus, the constitutional argument for blocking Trump's candidacy. Ben Wittes is back with Charlie Sykes for a special edition of The Trump Trials.

Trump's co-defendants don't even dispute what they're accused of doing—they just claim it wasn't illegal. Plus, will the debate penetrate Fox's hermetically sealed silos, despite the ex-president's attempt to counter-program? Tom Nichols joins Charlie Sykes today.
The base gives Trump higher marks for speaking truth than they give to religious leaders, Vivek will be targeted at the debate, DeSantis turns on MAGA, Biden needs to tackle the age issue, and the media keeps both-sidesing political scandal. Joe Perticone and Mona Charen join Charlie Sykes.
The governor of Florida is being treated like a low-IQ child. Meanwhile, Trump hasn't been treated like the common criminal he is: mugshot him, weigh him, jail him. Plus, the Democrats' Senate leadership is MIA. Tim Miller joins Charlie Sykes for the weekend pod.
Could Trump have been dumb enough to use Twitter DMs for his plot? Plus, the dangers of not fearing the law, the politics of four indictments, and the irony of whining about election fraud and then being indicted for conspiring to commit it. Ben Wittes and Anna Bower join Charlie Sykes for The Trump Trials.

Even with Trump out of the White House, Lindsey Graham says that Trump is the organizing principle of the Republican Party. And everything that the senator once valued—national security, human rights, and the Constitution—plays second fiddle to his loyalty to Trump. This special series, The Corruption of Lindsey Graham, has been presented by The Bulwark Podcast.

Everything Trump says is projection. Every single thing he accuses people of is true about him.
Ben takes such glee in stealing Charlie's tagline
The Dunning-Kruger effect explains so much in our world!
ugg doesn't kamala follow what is dictated by the president.

I hate this series. Don't want to re-live Lindsey Graham's hypocrisy every week, I just want mor Charlie.
could you please turn the volume down on the intro music. it's really loud.
film was a disappointment. What happened after for the rest of his life? Where did he and his wife go? No real insight or mention of the masterful coordination of the project, no insight into building the 3 labs in created cities. Too much about the kangaroo "hearings" about his security clearance. over an hour of the questions and witnesses and answers. Why it was filmed in IMAX was a waste. This could have been a TV movie. The explosion itself was maybe 10 minutes of the 3 hours. Overall great acting performances, but producers and directors made creative choices that were bad in my opinion.

Alyssa Farah is just an idiot Trojan horse Trumper. Why does “The Bulwark” try to waste my time with such trash? I’m willing to bet $100 she will never vote for a democrat. The Bulwark keeps trying to normalize the republican party as though it’s really full of sincere , good people like Tim Scott; sorry the politicians from SC should never get a chance to run the country and Tim Scott is a classic Uncle Tom.

I can’t take this bs anymore.
Obviously I’d rather have Christie than Trump or Desantis. But honestly speaking, I dislike all republicans.
How ... How does a native English-speaker who talks and writes for a living not know what "the straw that broke the camel's back" means? I wouldn't do this if Tim weren't sounding so sure of himself elsewhere in this episode, but here's the kindergarten explanation: 1) Putting one piece of straw on a camel's back will not break it. 2) Putting a billion pieces of straw on a camel's back WILL break it. 3) Somewhere between Straw#1 and Straw#1,000,000,000 is a *single straw* that changes the state of the camel's back from unbroken to broken. It represents the quantity that causes a phase transition in a system. 4) Rough translation: "There's only so much stress that a thing can manage without breaking, and if the stress increases constantly, the thing WILL break." It's such a basic idiom that it doesn't require a fable to dumb it down. You're welcome.
Simply a great guest who has a great way of communicating.
Trump is done. He will go down in history as a stain on Melania’s underwear!
I'm not a fan of Smith's mealy-mouthed water carrying for and justification of the social media oligarchy's appallingly irresponsible business practices. Facebook facilitated a fucking GENOCIDE. I'm not interested in hearing anything like whataboutism from these people.
I tried several new Bulwark produced podcasts today. I couldn’t deal with them. Longwell is such a Trojan horse republican. Of course she blames the democrat 3 for their ideal. All of them agree Biden is too old, trumps the nominee and he’s got at least even odds to win in 2024. I’m beginning to think Charlie & company are just suckering me for the $10 each month. How are they contributing to the force to end trumps career??? I swear I’ve never heard any of them except JVL say anything directly positive with respect to democrats. Am I just biased???
these two are Friday GOLD. 🥇
