When 57-year-old Bruce Cucchiara was gunned down in the parking lot of a New Orleans East apartment complex in 2012 his murder devastated his family and stumped law enforcement. The father and business man seemed to be well-liked and on a positive path as he coasted toward retirement. He was also worth $5 million in life insurance. For more than a year CounterClock's Delia D'Ambra has investigated the case and unraveled a web of bizarre information and circumstances about his life and those who benefitted from his death. The geographical and political setting of the murder has a dark history of corruption, fraud and violence and at every turn Delia discovers Bruce's complicated business life may have put him in the crosshairs of several bad actors. From allegations of a setup and ties to organized crime to Bruce being a key witness in a multi-million-dollar lawsuit to random robbery...each scenario is something the New Orleans Police Department can't rule out. Now, 11 years after his brutal slaying the questions still remain, who murdered Bruce? Why was he even in New Orleans East? Where is the murder weapon? Delia has discovered new information, tracked down witnesses and revealed secrets within the victim's closest circle that will blow this unsolved case wide open. CounterClock Season 5 is the most extensive and explosive investigation to-date with more than two dozen interviews and over a thousand documents that tell a stranger-than-fiction story about a very real crime. I feel like someone should look into Nelson. I think Marie’s description sketch looks a LOT like Nelson in the photograph of him at the table and the mic. Episode 8. The way he acts towards the family is bizarre. Like why? Why act like this if you’re trying to solve a case. Maybe Nelson had ties to the marijuana farm. And that BUS! Something is connected there.
You know I love the podcast and all of Ashley Flowers' work and AudioChuck. But I can't help but wonder why, if Emily did the majority of the investigating, why isn't she the one speaking the podcast?
Thank you very much https://lol-beans.io
He doesn't sound like he suspects these things. He sounds like he knows that's how it happened. Which would make sense why he didn't want anyone working the case.
you're really trying to make a mountain out of a molehill with this guy. there is no mystery. it's not deep. You must just be doing that for suspense in your podcast.
Nelson is either sketchy as hell or a complete moron. I don't know what's worse since he's the gatekeeper of the case...
Why is he so secretive? He should be happy that this podcast is bringing attention to this case. Doesn't he want it solved? Why is he making the victims kids feel guilty for pushing for this case to be solved.? It just feels off and very strange.
Nelson, you should be ashamed of yourself. You are not a good person and you need to retire. It's scary that you have any involvement with any cases at all. How date he treat a victims daughter the way he has!! Appalling.
ugh Nelson just wtf
this guy sounds suspicious 🤔 he's weird.

Lawd, I can't breathe over here. Hearing how loving Darlene was with her girls and their sweet lil voices took it over the edge for me. No one deserved this and I pray there will be answers soon💞✨
I enjoyed listening to this series a lot. I prefer the more in-depth podcasts to some of their one-off episodes. Hopefully, this will help highlight this horrific story and jump start a proper investigation to give the family answers.
I guess the last episode got everyone. All could've been put together in 2-3 normal length episodes tbh. Good effort anyway. Looking forward to a closure soon..
this series could have been done in a couple 40 minute episodes.... soooo many ads on every 17 minute episode!!
I was hooked from the first episode. I love how the episodes were narrated. At the end of every episode, I wanted to keep going to the next one.
Im crying at the audio she made for her kids. Its beautiful that you reminded everyone that she died fighting like hell. keep doing what you do. You all are amazing and there is a special place in heaven for you guys.
just listened as I was getting out of the shower, stood there bawling my eyes out. Nelson, you need to listen to those recordings when the girls were little, and then still say "no".
imagine having a person like nelson standing in the way of the answer to your mother's murder, the torment this family must go through. 🥺
Oh my goodness, that last episode made me ball my eyes out. I hope this family is able to get answers and closure soon! Thank you for all the hard work Ashley and Emily!
