Seriously?!!! Saturated fat is as bad as fructose. I dint think so. Sorry, switching off now. Also plenty of examples of no-fibre to counter that argument, too.

Nice discussion. A bit endurance focussed on ST fibers. They act all the time, even in high intensity exercise. Basal insulin is the key signal in all this. I keep mine in the hunter gatherer range of about 3. I operate as a FT phenotype and let the ST respond as they will without being targeted. You cannot have autophagy with elevated basal insulin. I would add that eccentric movement targets the FT fibers and they primarily use anaerobic pathways. I think Paleo is the way to eat, not the present high fat version currently popular., but the original version which Cordain and I studied and advised. I am at least 50 years Paleo and have been called a Patrich of Paleo (NYT, London Times). I am 86 now and 7% body fat (impedance measure) with substantial muscle mass (200 pounds, 6' 1"). Some talks I have given can be found at the IHMC site, they but they are all over the Internet.
