Description

True crime podcasting often forgets that, underneath the gore and sensationalism, there are real people, real families, and real justice waiting to be served.
The Fall Line® is an antidote to that oversight - focused on ethical, deep-dive coverage of missing people, unsolved homicides, and unidentified persons called John and Jane Does.
We present carefully crafted true crime stories, thorough research and in-depth interviews with families, law enforcement, and experts. And we bring calls to action, so engaged true crime listeners can do their part to resolve cold cases.
Join us to learn about victims and survivors you’ve never heard of. . . and why their cases were ignored in the first place.

A big Halloween party at an apartment complex in Redmond, Washington. Themed rooms and costumed partygoers. But by the end of the party, one of the hosts is dead. The police look to the partiers as the prime suspects: was it the guy in the devil mask, the bank robber, the construction worker? As investigators comb through forensic evidence, witness testimony, DNA, and even consult with a psychic, they zero in on one suspect in particular. But for what reason? Host and reporter Matthew Shaer (Over My Dead Body) returns to the scene of the crime, speaks with everyone about a night that still haunts them years later. It’s a series about race and policing, mislaid justice, cutting-edge science, and the kinds of weighty choices that cops and prosecutors make every day -- choices that, once made, are difficult to reverse. Introducing 9/12

How did 9/11 the day become 9/11 the idea? That question drives award-winning host Dan Taberski (Missing Richard Simmons, Running From COPS, The Line) to shift his focus to what happened on 9/12, and every day after that. 9/12 is a poignant, surprising, and surprisingly funny seven episode series about people who wake up on 9/12 having to navigate a new, radically altered world. A teenager gets caught up in an out-of-control conspiracy theory that he helped start. A Pakistani business owner finds hundreds of his Brooklyn neighbors are disappearing. Joke-writers at The Onion must figure out just how soon is “too soon”? 9/12 asks what it all means. We know what happened on 9/11. But what happened on 9/12 to alter our memory and our perspective forever? Listen to 9/12: http://wondery.fm/9_12_TheFallLine All seven episodes of 9/12 are available to stream now on Amazon Music or Wondery+. Episodes will release weekly everywhere starting September 8th. Texas a known for being tough on crime and those who commit it. Or at least the ones who get caught. There are 10s of 1000s of unsolved homicides in Texas and nearly as many open missing persons cases. Every week, Gone Cold Podcast - Texas True Crime presents in-depth accounts of unsolved murders and missing persons cases throughout the lone star state, concentrating on lesser known cases that the media has long left behind. Cases like the recently solved 1974 abduction and murder of Fort Worth High School student Carla Walker and the 1968 Massacre at Loma Alta, where the entire Arellano family was slaughtered by a depraved killer, to the 2008 Port Aransas Killing of Christopher Tiensch, a whistleblower whose choice to do the right thing might have cost him his life. This is a preview of Gone Cold's coverage of the 1994 sexual assault and murder of 16-year-old Trellis “Tree” Sykes, an all-star track and basketball player at her high school, located in the most impoverished and crime-ridden neighborhood in Houston – Sunnyside. When the perpetrator of a series of heinous and ultra-violent sexual assaults was apprehended years after Tree’s slaying, it was thought to be the break detectives needed. But the Trellis “Tree” Sykes case remains unsolved. Welcome to Season Two of Gone South, the Edward R. Murrow-Award winning documentary podcast from C13Originals. Starting in the early sixties, a rag-tag confederation of traveling criminals known as The Dixie Mafia terrorized every state from Georgia to Oklahoma. Its hundreds of members, unofficially headquartered in Biloxi, Mississippi, specialized in scams, heists and murder. Their ringleader — the estranged son of a prominent Oklahoma politician — was a skilled and charismatic outlaw named Kirksey Nix. When Nix was sentenced to life in prison at Angola for a murder he committed in New Orleans, The Dixie Mafia was thought to be extinct. But fifteen years later, a sitting criminal court judge named Vincent Sherry and his wife Margaret, a mayoral candidate for the city of Biloxi, were assassinated. As the case ran cold, authorities were forced to confront a disturbing reality: the reign of Kirksey Nix and The Dixie Mafia was far from over. Gone South is a creation and production of Peabody-nominated C13Originals, a Cadence13 studio, in association with Jed and Tom Lipinski. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Introducing (part of) The Fall Line team’s second podcast, One Strange Thing, where we search the nation’s news archives for stories that can’t quite be explained. One Strange Thing unfolds regional tales of the mysterious, the paranormal, the unexplainable, and the delightfully weird. In this episode clip, we consider that, perhaps some people are born lucky. . . and then there are others, who have singular experiences that can be described as, well, miracles. At 3:30PM on August 15th, 2016, a call came in to police in Bessemer City, North Carolina, that would set off a chain of events that shook the community to its very core. William Joseph McCullen, who was tasked with caring for his girlfriend’s three-year-old daughter, Jordyn Dumont, reported that she had gone missing. McCullen’s story was that he had put Jordyn down for a nap and then dozed off himself, only to wake up to an open front door and no sign of Jordyn. As detectives dug deeper into the case, it became clear that that Jordyn’s disappearance was only the tip of the iceberg… The investigation would expose a troubling pattern of neglect and abuse, raising serious questions about the role of law enforcement and social services and the devastating consequences that can occur when they fail to do their jobs. You want a compelling case??? Read about the disappearance of Wojciech Fudali in Rhode Island!! I'm surprised this case has not blown up, and those friends were not held accountable. Their story is very sketchy.

Even someone where English is a second language, they are still mansplaining her. He literally repeats what she says about the FBI profile, like it is his own original thought, not an agreement to what she just said. Crazy.

There is a living, unidentified person on NAMUS that I think should be checked with the Millbrook family DNA. It would be a long shot, but she is the right age and has some similarities to the Millbrook twins. She has amnesia and doesn't know who she is. @crimelinespod

I don't understand; if you have a DNA database from families and DNA from certain unidentified human remains, why can't you just run a match sequence on all of them? When you have DNA at a crime scene, you run that DNA against DNA in a database of known offenders or other crime scenes (CODIS). Why do they just cross reference on 'suggestion'? Make a database for missing and unidentified people to run against each other and family members.

D'amiano.... he doesn't even consider the fact that at one point, his family was a family of immigrants. So much for self-awareness in that guy.
