Multiple media outlets now deny that Vice President Kamala Harris was the "border czar," despite earlier reports. Harris was assigned to address the root causes of migration from Central and South America, a role Republicans have criticized as border issues persist. Outlets like Axios, Time, USA Today, and PolitiFact have clarified that Harris was never in charge of border enforcement. Critics point out inconsistencies in previous reports, highlighting political tensions as Harris heads toward the Democratic nomination.

After President Joe Biden announced he’d end his re-election campaign, focus shifted to his replacement. Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, leading many prominent Democrats to support her. The Democratic nominee will be chosen by delegates at the national convention in Chicago next month. If Harris unites the party, she'll need a running mate. She hasn't publicly named any contenders, but several potential vice presidential candidates have been suggested by Democrats.
Mass IT outages have disrupted global operations, causing thousands of flight cancellations and delays, and affecting online services at airports, hospitals, banks, and businesses. Many Microsoft users encountered the "blue screen of death" (BSOD) error. The issue affects Windows programs using CrowdStrike technology. President Biden has been briefed and the White House will receive ongoing updates. The outages continue to impact multiple sectors worldwide.
President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19 again after attending an event in Las Vegas. Despite mild symptoms, he remains committed to fulfilling his duties while in isolation at home in Delaware. This marks his third COVID-19 diagnosis, with the first occurring in July 2022. Biden's current health and campaign activities continue to be closely monitored.
President Biden warned of the dangers to Black voters' freedoms if Project 2025, associated with MAGA policies, were enacted under Trump. He emphasized the potential erosion of rights such as voting and abortion access.
Amber Rose, at the Republican National Convention, endorsed Donald Trump, criticizing media portrayals of him and expressing her shift from believing he was prejudiced to seeing him as inclusive. Her support comes despite past criticism of Trump and her advocacy against sexual violence. Trump appeared with a bandaged ear following an assassination attempt, receiving strong support from attendees.
Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump at a rally. Noticed for acting suspiciously, he evaded police, took a rooftop position, and opened fire, killing one and injuring others before being fatally shot by Secret Service. The FBI is investigating the incident as domestic terrorism but hasn't found motives or clear affiliations. Crooks' troubled past included bullying and a quiet social profile, with no evident political motivations.
The Trump campaign refutes accusations tied to the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025, labeling them distractions after Biden's poor debate performance. They assert their sole endorsed policies are "Agenda 47" and the "RNC Platform." They accuse Democrats of spreading falsehoods and not offering substantial policies to the electorate. Trump distanced himself from Project 2025, denying involvement despite its deep connections with former Trump officials and its aims to shape conservative governance.
Candace Owens discussed Jordan Peterson's reaction to Nick Fuentes' tweet "Jews" implying Jewish control of the White House. Peterson called Fuentes a "psychopathic rat," a departure from his usual calm demeanor. Owens highlighted Peterson's support of free speech and rational debate, noting his reaction seemed out of character. She also referenced a Times of Israel article listing Jews in top roles in Biden's administration, suggesting the tweet by Fuentes shouldn't be shocking given this context. Owens questioned if Peterson's response was influenced by Fuentes' past critiques of his stance on Israel and Western civilization.
Amber Rose, a biracial, millennial celebrity, announced her plan to speak at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. Known for her empowerment advocacy and past high-profile relationships, Rose's participation aligns with the GOP's strategy to attract more diverse voters. Despite previously criticizing Trump, Rose has recently expressed support, highlighting a significant shift in her political stance.
President Joe Biden reaffirmed his commitment to continue his reelection campaign in a letter to congressional Democrats, countering concerns about his mental fitness and campaign viability. Despite support from some party elites, the debate about potentially replacing him with Vice President Harris has intensified, driven by Biden's perceived weaknesses in recent public appearances. This internal party debate occurs as Biden actively communicates his determination to compete against Donald Trump in the upcoming election.
Former President Trump has publicly distanced himself from the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025, dismissing any association with it despite the project's close ties with many Trump allies. His disavowal followed controversial remarks by the Heritage Foundation president on Steve Bannon's show, which Democrats criticized heavily. Trump emphasized on Truth Social that he is uninvolved and critical of the project's proposals. Meanwhile, the Biden campaign is using this controversy to highlight the risks of a second Trump presidency. Trump remains focused on implementing his own policy agenda, Agenda47, separate from Project 2025.
After a pivotal debate, discussions among Democrats are intensifying about whether Vice President Kamala Harris would be a stronger candidate than President Biden. Despite Harris' support for Biden's campaign, Democratic insiders speculate that a significant drop in Biden's poll standings could trigger calls for him to withdraw. This sentiment is partly due to a CNN poll showing Trump leading Biden, with Harris performing slightly better against Trump. Discussions about Harris replacing Biden are ongoing, although she faces her own challenges with public perception and approval ratings.
The Supreme Court ruled that presidents are immune from criminal prosecution for official acts, leading to sharp criticism from Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ketanji Brown Jackson. They argued that this decision fundamentally threatens American democracy by granting a president unchecked power, likening the role to that of a king rather than a democratic leader. Both justices highlighted potential abuses of power that could now be shielded from prosecution, signaling a profound shift in the balance of constitutional powers.
Kamala Harris's cameo at the BET Awards was criticized as pandering. During a scripted video call with Taraji P. Henson, Harris used phrases like "out here in these streets" and referenced Kendrick Lamar’s song to discuss serious issues like reproductive rights and voter freedom. The performance, intended to energize voters, was mocked online for being cringeworthy. Critics on social media and news outlets described it as an awkward attempt to connect with the audience.
